They don't remember eating anything out of the ordinary, not even any extra rations.

Character Name: Naanash
Clue Followed: Infirmary
Course of Action: 'No, really, I thought we ate on golden plates at the high table,' Nash manages to wrestle down the quip, though there might have been a tiny bit of an eye twitch. "I know where we eat," So he doesn't managed to remove all sarcasm. "What did you eat, there is maslin bread.." He pauses and frowns. "Actually, did you eat the bread?"
Meat changed to much between tables, so did the drinks, but the bread was nearly the same all the way up to the rider table. The masters and those at the high table got white bread, so did the patients in the infirmary.

Character Name: A'ri
Clue Followed: Infirmary
Course of Action: With the traders not being terribly helpful, A'ri turns her attention to the infirmary. She knows people here from her days volunteering with the sick and her work in the disaster relief wing. She hopes she can garner a little bit extra help because of it as she interviews first a few of the Healers regarding any sores or pests common between the victims, and then speaks to a few victims as well regarding the specific symptoms and their actions or activities at the time.

She hopes she can garner a little bit extra help because of it as she interviews first a few of the Healers regarding any sores or pests common between the victims, and then speaks to a few victims as well regarding the specific symptoms and their actions or activities at the time. A’ri finds mostly - well, shrugs, from the healers. A few of them have seen similar outbreaks, usually in summer, and they fully expect it to die out shortly. These things have a natural course, after all, and they’re not ruling out mass hysteria. Inspecting the drudges for lice and ensuring proper bathing doesn’t seem to have done much good, though if a few of them had their way it would be done far more often. There are bathing facilities and they should sharding well take advantage of them, some of these drudges are filthy.
The victims are drawn from a wide range across the Weyr - a few candidates, a weyrling, a handful of drudges, even a few riders - and they seem to have nothing in common beyond their symptoms. The drudges seem to have had the worst of whatever the illness is, and they are certainly the sickest whenever their symptoms are described.

Shaddaling Character Name: Naanash Clue Followed: Infirmary Course of Action: Talk to a master healer about possible correlation of contaminated maslin bread and the sickness. [Con: super smart, and didn't realise this had even been posted]
He manages to catch the attention of one of the Masters, and after a brief discussion they conclude that it is... well, very plausible. They order an inventory and search of the Weyr's flour stocks, and order any that seem even slightly suspicious or bad-smelling to be thrown out.
Bread is short for a few sevendays, but the sickness peters out and is gone completely within two.
