Bellamy squinted up at the sunrise. Back on the Ark, he’d always assumed those poets and authors from a time before his were full of s**t, or on some better drugs than he’d ever been on by the way they went on about describing the sun, and how beautiful it was in the morning. Well, they were right. After being up all night from watching Octavia, the sun was definitely something beautiful to look up at. The colors contrasted well together, the streaks of yellow, red, pink, and white. He wished people on the Ark could experience such beautiful scenery, but, he wasn’t about to speak that idea out loud.
He squeezed his sister’s hand. It was his fault she was down here, as well as their mother’s. Their mother’s fault just for having Octavia and hiding her for years. That was an ever so infamous tale about how they’d found Octavia under the floorboards. They wouldn’t have, if it wouldn’t have been for Bellamy taking her to a dance for the school students. He saw it as the perfect opportunity, to take Octavia to the masquerade ball. Sure, her body and hair were unknown, but at least no one would recognize her face. The last thing he thought about though, was her identification card. Which, was a stupid thing to forget considering he was a guard at the time. Needless to say, Octavia was quickly discovered, and Bellamy was revoked of his guard title due to harboring a sibling on the Ark.
He let go of her hand for a moment to pull the blanket up over her body. He’d luckily found the blanket in one of the supply cases, and it was the last one remaining. Bellamy had nearly knocked a kid’s tooth out in a tussle over it. He’d be damned if Octavia weren’t going to get this blanket. Bellamy exhaled, watching as the cold air formed into a little cloud coming from his lips. You never saw something like that on the Ark, no matter how cold it got. The ventilating system would have already sucked the air in before it had a chance to leave your mouth.
Bellamy looked around the clearing. After that Clarke girl had finished going over Octavia and determined she only had a sprained ankle, Bellamy had brought Octavia over to the trees where he’d laid her down and they spent the night there. He was planning on keeping the distance, so no one would notice when they’d leave for good.

▶ ▷ Clarke woke up as soon as the sunlight hit her eyes. She sighed and sat up, walking out to check on Octavia Blake. She smiled when she saw Bellamy and came over to crouch next to them. "I just want to check on her and wrap her ankle." She told him, lifting the covers up to Octavia's knees. She pulled out her bandage wrap and carefully wrapped Octavia's ankle, making sure it was done correctly.
Covering Octavia's feet again, Clarke stood and looked at Bellamy. "I don't want her walking too much. It could end up as something much worse than a sprain." Clarke said. A couple book bags off to the side caught her attention and she looked at Bellamy. "You were going to sneak off." She said, more a statement than a question.
"Bellamy, you can't leave. These people follow you." She said. "I'm just the goody two shoes, good-for-nothing princess in their eyes." Her eyes looked at Bellamy pleadingly. She couldn't lead them. She wanted to because she didn't want them to get hurt, but they wouldn't listen to her. Everyone knew that. One would have to be crazy otherwise.
