Pyrophanite should be out this late. With his new found duties and jobs and gang called Negaverse, he was out a lot more in the evenings to the dawn. Draining victims, learning about the youma s**t.

Trying to figure out how to teleport, like it was so uncool of Natron not to show him how to do it! There was no guidebook on how to do this stuff anyways.

After a successful drain, Pyrophanite was whistling on his way out of the park, not quite ready to power down. so what? He could find someone else probably?

And was this luck on his side? It was kid, but Pyro didn't care, energy was energy right?

"Didn't your parents ever tell not to be out kid?" Pyro grinned, "There's bad guys around all over, and it ain't safe." he examined one of his hands. "Like me."

Shackleton had been completely unaware of the approaching other, and when Pyrophanite's footsteps finally clued him in, Shackleton jumped and turned around, fists already raised and a scowl on his face, unwilling to admit he'd been suprised. Still, he paused slightly as he took in exactly what the other was wearing.

"...?"

And then Pyrophanite began to speak, and the scowl only deepened. Of course he knew it was dangerous to be out, there was ALWAYS stuff on the news, was this guy - wait. Wait. What was that last bit? Oh. Oh dear. Shackleton swallowed and raised his fists higher, tucking his elbows in and arranging his feet in a sparring stance. It's okay. He could do this. (The way he was shaking was just anticipation, that was all.)

And then the encouter took a turn for the bizarre. The truly bizarre. A voice sounded, and then a cat padded into view. At first Shackleton took it for coincedence (his imagination had often tricked him before, after all) but then the feline spoke again, and Shackleton was sure. A talking cat had plans for him? That was...both worrying and cool.

Still, he had a more pressing problem first, and that was this weird dude with the hat. Shackleton was a creative problem solver too, but he was also still pretty angry. All in all, it seemed the sensible option to kick the guy in the shin as hard as he could (which was pretty hard for a kid thanks to his hobbies which both required leg strength) and run towards the cat, hoping he'd distracted hat-dude long enough to not get grabbed as he did so.

The cat had to be the good one here, right? Shackleton hoped so at least.

Carmen was unsure why she thought banter would buy her the time to produce a henshin pen, because it certainly didn't do that. Now the kid was literally in the lieutenant's hands, and she wasn't sure whether to try and free him first or make a henshin pen and sneak it to him. She couldn't exactly do both at the same time, given the concentration needed to pull out a pen, and furthermore, there was the issue of having a new senshi henshin in front of the enemy. If such a thing were to happen, the enemy would know both the civilian and powered identities, which would be very dangerous for the new senshi.

With that line of thinking in place, Carmen chose to set the boy free first. With a hiss, she jumped at the lieutenant, aiming to claw his hands up to get him to release the boy. She would have preferred to aim for the face but didn't think she had quite enough momentum.

Pyrophanite's language was various and very much colorful.

and not something that a kid would or should hear but....

And their assault worked as the lieutenant let go.

"All right you little shits...." Pyro glared, summoning the pointless toy bus, "s**t just got real and playtime is over. How about I start with you little mongrel?" Pyro threw the bus at the cat, hoping to scamper away.
