In the dawn of the early morning, the large cat had her eyes scanning the horizon. It would soon be time to retreat back to the house. Her form grew tired but she could not end up on the streets like so many others. No, she had to play the humans' game of life if she wanted to live her own way. The panther jumped into a nearby tree and allowed herself to morph. Soon she jumped down and jogged back to the house. It was about six in the morning now and she began her morning routine for work.

In an hour she had pulled into the high school parking lot and retrieved her bags, whipping her hair out of her face. Making a brisk pace to the entrance doors she greeted a few students and coworkers along the way. Reaching the door, she struggled to reach the handle, grunting as she tried to pry open the door.

Glancing up at one of her students, she gave a thankful smile. "Yes Alex, that is much appreciated!" She replied and walked into her room. Setting her things down at the desk, she began to place items out on the desk and organize them by importance. "Well, today we're going to be learning about the diplomatic system of Rome and what it may have helped our Founding Fathers with when creating the system we use now!" She explained as she shuffled through assignments and brain stimulating questions. She glanced up for a moment to look at Alex. "Pardon me, but, do you always come in this early or am i just realizing?" She gave a soft laugh as she asked the question. School didn't start for another 30 minutes or so.

A small laugh escaped her as Alex explained. "My apologies for never noticing!" As she turned to the board to begin writing down that days agenda, Alex came and helped her set up everything else. After the class had began she went into the beginnings of Rome and was in the midst of explaining something when Alex and another student exchanged unnecessary words. "Mr. Wolfe, Mr. Galnger, that's enough." She said briskly, pausing to give them both an eye before returning to her explanation. After two more incidents, Kilei sighed. "Mr. Wolfe, I would like to see you after class." With that he was silent the rest of the period. The bell rang for next period and she sat at her desk with a small sigh. "Alex, come here please," she glanced over to her student as he stood.

Looking up at the boy, she noticed his almost innocent features, like a little kid being chided by his favorite aunt or uncle. Before she could speak he blurted out an apology, his eyes pleading for her forgiveness. Sighing, Kilei pushed her hair behind her ear and looked back up. "I know you are Alex, but it's happened too many times in just one class period, so... I hate to say this but you're going to have to have detention after school with me for the rest of the week." She gave a small, apologetic smile. "I know it isn't what you want, it's not what I want either, but I have to." Looking to her desk as she explained, she couldn't look into his captivating eyes, it was too nerve racking.

As the boy strolled out in a sulk, she gave a small giggle. He was cute...

Packing up her things that were done with being used, she glanced up at her student. His smile caught her off guard. "O-oh, um... yes, uh, take a seat." She stammered and quickly went about cleaning off her board and the trash off the floor. Heading back to her desk she took her seat and began to look through a few essays she'd taken from the freshman that day. She wasn't completely focused however, the boy in the room kept distracting her, Kilei's eyes peeking in a couple of glances now and again.
