Ula gently padded along the sand, the sea glimmered invitingly though she wasn't here to have a swim today. The lioness was on a mission to find some supplies for her latest bout of crafting. As a Bumani she occasionally helped with building shelters and such, but her real love and passion was in crafting jewellery and accessories. Ula wanted to find the most beautiful things possible- and there was so much beauty here, more so than in the plains she had recently explored. The Bahari seemed like a hidden oasis, full of sea, sand and life - she was so lucky to have been allowed to join.
As she ran along the shore, her pelt seemed to possess the qualities of a jewel in itself - hues of silver and blue danced in the light and her pelt was full of intricate patterns on one half.

A short distance from where the blue lioness was walking, there stood a rather bright pink male. He was staring intently out at the ocean, completely unaware that anyone was nearby. He looked sad, which was an unusual look for any Bahari'mtoto member to have when gazing upon the sea, as it was such a source of joy for so many of them.
So much had happened to his Pride, and although things were now probably better than they had ever been, someone was no longer with him. His father, the God of Fish no less, had stopped coming to visit him. Penda'ji knew that nothing bad could've happened to his father, and so there was no other conclusion to come to other than that his father no longer wished to be around him.
He kept telling himself that it didn't matter. He had his mother and siblings, who despite not being related to him by blood, were all the family he really needed. Penda'ji let out a soft sigh. Yet if that was the case, why did it hurt so much?

Ula was wandering quietly when something, or rather someone, managed to catch her eye. He was a lovely shade - bright pink, and he seemed to contrast the blue of the sea and the sky perfectly. The lioness stood and admired him for a moment, before trotting on to carry on her path- her gaze still turned towards the male she became increasingly aware that in fact she was headed in his direction. She might as well at least try to be social and allow herself to be distracted from her task for a few moments. The lioness hadn't made too many friends here yet - she wasn't shy exactly, but was still fitting in.
"Hello!" She called out to Penda'ji with a smile. Perhaps he would know of a good area to collect the prettiest shells.

Despite the sound of the sea washing in and out, Penda'ji was able to hear the approaching footsteps heading in his direction. He turned and quickly managed a small smile, not wishing to unload his problems on a fellow Pride member. When his blue eyes fell on the one who was coming towards him, he was quite taken aback for a moment. She was beautifully pale, with the most lovely sky-blue markings. She must've been new to the Pride, as he was certain that he would've remembered seeing such a lovely lioness before.
"Good morning." He said with a polite bow of his head. His smile grew slightly wider as he continued to look at her. Perhaps she was a member of the Kizingo'zaa, their allied neighbours? Or maybe she was indeed a newer member, perhaps from the islands that had opened up? It was times like this that he wished that his Seer powers actually gave him useful information, as most of the time they simply didn't.

She stood with a grin, admiring his pelt- and oh! He had something round his neck too. Maybe he had made it, or one of the Bumani? It was a seaweed necklace- complete with a starfish centerpiece. Her eyes flickered from his beautifully pink pelt to the necklace with admiration. "Such a beautiful necklace." Ula mused gently. "Did you make it?" The lioness couldn't help it, she was enchanted by beautiful things- she always had been. Maybe this male would be more help than she originally thought!

Penda'ji blinked as the pale female complimented his necklace. He had been wearing it for most of his life, so sometimes he even forgot that it was there. "My mother made it for me." He said with a smile as his gaze returned back to her. "I've never been very good at making jewellery myself." He said sheepishly.
He soon realised that they hadn't even introduced themselves! "My name is Penda'ji. Pleased to meet you." He gave another polite bow of his head.

"Your mother?" Ula whispered gently. Oh what a lovely gift to have indeed. Well, perhaps they weren't alike in skills, but the male certainly seemed to appreciate a good piece of jewellery, and all the better that it had sentimental value, too. "Oh, that's okay." She said gently. After all, it was unlikely that people were good at everything! "It's so lovely to meet you Penda'ji. I don't believe I have seen you around before. I am Ula."
The lioness really was quite taken with his looks, she could be a little shallow at times, she supposed. "What do you do in the pride, if you don't mind me asking?" Ula became aware that she might be staring, so she looked at the sand for a moment before her eyes flickered up to meet his.

"Pleased to meet you Ula!" The female seemed lovely, and genuinely interested in finding out more about him and hearing what he had to say. When she referred to his mother, he nodded and smiled. "Neoni'liga. She was actually one of the first to be born into this Pride and has been here ever since. Perhaps you've seen her around? She's bright blue-" He cut himself off there and allowed himself a brief chuckle. "I suppose that description would fit a lot of Pride members wouldn't it?"
As the conversation continued, Penda'ji tried to recall if he had seen this lioness around before. The Pride was so busy ever since their union with the Kizingo'zaa, it was only natural that they may have seen each other around but simply not been introduced. He eventually decided though that that wasn't the case. When Ula asked about his role in the Pride, he tilted his head slightly as he attempted to define it. "I am a Mshauri, due to my...heritage." The pink lion couldn't think of any better way to word that last part. "I just basically help where I can." He then nodded eagerly in her direction. "What about you?"
