Oh what a strange strange strange strange night it had been.
A night of full on passion with her hero and the next thing Erra knew, she had two brand new eggs. No doubt both going to be strong warriors just like her hero, but the fact of the matter was she was she. It was what her kind did. One had to go, she didn't have enough maternal feelings for both. "Life sucks, its a mega b***h. You'll thank me later." she chirped, shrugging as she punted the brighter egg from the nest, not even bothering to watch where it fell, if it cracked, or even if it was 'rescued.'
Instead, she doted upon the darker egg day after day, night after night until the little midnight speckled chick emerged into the world. Bright eyed, hungry and hella damn noisy. "Damn girl, shut up." she grinned, scooping up the little chick and stroking her downy fluff softly. 'Krayyven. That's your name." she decided with a nod.
Now that's not to say she had forgotten all about her other 'daughter'. But Cari was reaching the age in which she'd be able to handle herself in the world, so the simultaneously bright and dark harpy focused most of her attention on the new born. Kray had only been in this world a couple of days.....not counting the time she spent happily nestled in her dark container. But now she was out and things were bright, loud, funny looking, strange and all too confusing. She was carried everywhere for the most part, set down only in the middle of the nest and tended too lovingly by the bigger green whom she internally knew was her mama.
The smaller green.....was different. Kray wasn't so sure the smaller green liked her, in fact she wasn't sure herself she even liked the smaller green in return. It always gave her funny looks that were none to pleasant to the little chick. Or stared harshly whenever big green wasn't looking. Sometimes Kray cried just to get small green away from her or told off. It felt good seeing big green mama come to her rescue at times. So much so the little chick had made a personal game of it.
Today was no different, as she sat in the nest, bright yellow eyes watching small green closely. Her tiny purple wings flicked about on her back as she prepped herself for another loud screech....

Aracari sat perched on a branch not too far away... Damn brat... Her feathers ruffled as those beady little eyes of the purple runt would stare back at her. Cari sneered at the little menace. The little snot always got away with everything! If she so much as looked at her cross-eyed, it would start screeching! And once it started screeching, Momma would come and blame her for the noise when it was obvious the little twerp was the one to blame.
She cringed as she saw the little chick inhale - a sign that Cari, by now, knew by heart of what was to follow - and then bellow out her small, high-pitched and deafening screech. Growling a bit, Cari clutched her hands to her ears and closed her eyes tight.
"Can I NOT ever Nap for once without the brat making that Noise?!" she half grumbled, half yelled as mother came fluttering into view. "Make it shut up! PLEASE!!" True, she was staring at the kid... but at least she was trying to take a nap.... at some point.... the thought had at least crossed her mind.... though now, that was less than likely.............
"I find it hard to believe that I was EVER this noisy as a chick!" she growled then. "She's probably scared off all the prey for miles...."

Erradika wasn't immune to her newest nest addition's screeching that's for sure. A grunt and a wince graced her features as she shut one eye and peered down at Kray. "Stop that racket that's not going to do you any good." she said, tapping the top of Kray's head with a finger which seemed to make her snap that trap shut.
At least for now.
"You had your fair share of noisy days." Erra laughed at Cari, reaching over to ruffle her brightly colored hair. 'Maybe not as many though...." she smirked, adjusting the chick in her arms a moment before glancing out over the tree tops. Anything that was edible near by was most likely gone after that. Man was she glad she didn't have three to deal with. Kray's little eyes blinked with each tap to the head but she did indeed shut her beak. Her little golden eyes narrowed on the smaller greenie meanie with too many colors. She liked it better when she was gone gone gone! Why was she not gone?!
Tilting her head upward, she opened wide and made hungry peeps, wiggling her little fingers and toes, fluttering her little wings. She kept casting glances back at Cari every so often to make sure she wasn't being sneaked up on, at the ready to let out another deafening screech should the other try to do so. This was her big greenie demmet!
