I didn't think so, from the way she's acting. Still, I find her actions to be quite comical, given the situation

David watched as Wynter's blush darkened again, then nodded when she asked if he really meant what he'd said. "Aye, I really mean that," he said. "I don't usually say things I don't mean, Wynter." He turned his attention back to the TV for a moment, then looked at Wynter again. "Would ye like to watch something else?" he asked. "I've got a lot of movies to choose from, or we could just watch regular TV."

"Th-thank you. You're the first person, well man actually, to ever say that to me. And it's nice to know that you don't say what you don't mean. I'm the same way. Not a lot of people are like that," she said softly, smiling shyly back at him again. She was about to start watching the movie again when he asked her if she wanted to watch something else or regular tv. "A-actually, I'd like to just sit and keep talking if that's alright," she replied softly, still looking up at him.
David nodded when Wynter thanked him. "Ye're welcome," he said. He tilted his head a bit when she said that he was the only man that had ever called her cute. "Aye, ye're right there," he said. "We need more people like us in the world." He turned his attention back to the TV right before Wynter spoke, asking if they could just sit and talk some more. He turned the TV and DVD player off, nodding in reply to her request. "Aye, that's fine with me," he said. "What would ye like to talk about?"

Wynter turned her body more toward him as she thought about what to talk about. Nibbling her lower lip nervously, she decided to ask him a question that had been on her mind since they left the market earlier. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you purchase me," she asked softly, genuinely curious.
David smiled a bit when Wynter turned more toward him, then spoke, asking him why he'd purchased her. "Truth be told, I was gettin' very lonely living alone," he said. "I was in need of a companion, and when I first saw ye, I knew we'd get along just fine. Not to mention my wolf instinct was tellin' me to get ye out of the shop. Besides, I don't like the thought of anyone having to sit in a cage day in and day out for who knows how long, wondering if the next person to pick them up will be kind or cruel."

Wynter listened carefully to his explanation as she looked up at him. When he finished, she smiled shyly and her blush which had been slowly going away returned a little as she leaned forward and hugged him. "It means a lot to me and very happy to know that you choose me to be your companion. I know all to well how painful loneliness can be. So I'll do my absolute best to make you happy. If I'm doing something wrong, please tell me so I can fix it. And if there's anything you need, tell me that too. I'll be here to listen to you if something's bothering or upsetting you," she said softly, tilting her head back to look up into his eyes.
David was momentarily surprised when Wynter hugged him, but he recovered quickly and returned her hug gently. He smiled at her words, knowing that she was speaking from the heart. "Thank ye, Wynter," he said, smiling at her. "I chose well when I brought ye home with me. And I'll say the same to ye: if there's ever anything ye need or want, or if ye just want to talk, don't be afraid to ask, alright? I'll do whatever I can to ensure that ye're happy here."

"Now it's my turn to thank you, David. I promise to always come to you if I need or want anything. To be honest, before now my papa was the only man I had ever been around. Even during my time as a slave, I never was around or near men. I'd always had mistresses and they were awful to me. I still don't really understand why they were. Especially since I always sensed they were jealous of me for some strange reason," she said softly, an involuntary shutter running through her body as she spoke. She took a moment to compose herself before continuing speaking. "Anyways, what I was getting at was that I feel comfortable with you. I know that I can trust you. And, um, when you say nice things about me like you did earlier...I like it even though I'm not used to it which is why I blush and become shy. Being um hugged by you too is really nice to. And now I'm rambling. Do you have any questions for me," she said softly, still looking into his eyes as her blush returned full force.
David smiled when Wynter thanked him in return. His smile faded when she told him she'd only ever had mistresses before he'd brought her home, and that her mistresses hadn't treated her kindly. He didn't like the thought of anyone, especially another woman, abusing Wynter. She was too gentle for that kind of treatment. His smile returned as she continued speaking, nodding at her words. "I'm glad ye feel like ye can trust me," he said. "I'll make sure I never give ye a reason not to trust me. And I meant what I said earlier. Ye really do look cute when ye're blushing. And since we're being honest, ye're the first woman I've been around, other than a few female students when I was teaching. My mama died when I was a baby, so I never really knew her, and my father raised me by himself. So this is kind of new fer me, as well." He thought for a moment when she asked if he had any questions for her, then spoke again. "What kinds o' things d'ye like to do?" he asked.

"Th-thank you, David. Since we're both new at this, we'll have to learn together. I look forward to our time together. As for the things I like to do, I'm not too sure really. It's been a long time since I've had so much freedom. I know I like being outdoors. To be honest, I don't remember my childhood before I became a slave very clearly. I think it's because of the trauma of seeing my parents killed in front of me. I remember bits and pieces but they're kind of fuzzy and vague. Like I remember that my mommy taught me everything she knew about healing and herbs. And that she taught me how to use a bow and arrow. And that my papa taught me how to use a sword. Maybe we could spar sometime," she said softly, her cheeks turning red as she shyly peeked at him through her hair.
David nodded when Wynter thanked him. "I, too, look forward to our time together," he said, smiling at her. He listened as she spoke, feeling a pang of sympathy for her when she mentioned her parents' deaths. "I can promise ye, ye won't have to see anything like that here," he said. He blinked when she said her mother had taught her how to use a bow and arrows, and that her father had taught her how to use a sword, then nodded thoughtfully when she suggested sparring sometime. "I'd like that, once ye've regained yer strength," he said.

Wynter smiled shyly back and hugged him while tilting her head back to look up at him. "Thank you. I can't wait. You know, it's so nice to have someone to talk to. Someone who accepts me as I am and wants to get to know me. For so long, I've been shunned and the object of someone's anger that I almost started to believe that I deserved it," she said softly, hanging her head as she spoke.
David returned Wynter's hug gently, then looked down at her when she started speaking. "Ye're welcome," he said. He nodded in agreement with her words. "Aye, it's very nice to have someone to talk to," he said. He lifted her head gently with one hand as she spoke the last sentence. "I can promise ye, ye'll always be accepted fer who ye are while ye're here. No, ye don't deserve to be treated like that, Wynter. Ye're too kind and gentle fer that type of treatment."
