It's impossible to categorize them. Althouggh I don't rly consider them emo, I highly believe they have a sound of their own.
It's just amazing, how they sound different.
Your opinion?

The absolutely suck live. I saw them when I went to the System concert (I know. D :. I hate myself for it. D :. ) The lead singer was like...Pole dancing around and pelvic thrusting the microphone...so I was pretty..."*Stares in absolute horror*"...and yeah...it scarred me for life. It's like, live, you can't understand anything. The acoustics of the room were awesome for the other bands because they sounded good, but with Mars Volta...I mean...you could hear it from everywhere, and no matter where you were, it sounded like s**t. D :.
