Armor

Force Field
Defense: 0 - Speed: 0 - Strength: Requirement: 2 - Weight: 12.5 pounds
Armor rating: 3/0 - Damage Absorption: 1 - Attack penalty: -1 - Health: 3 Uses: 6

The Force Field body armor works uniquely compared to most forms of armor, in that it reacts actively to stop threats, instead of passively, like most forms of armor. Unlike ordinary armor, force fields only have a certain number of uses, due to their reactive nature, which consumes energy. While highly effective and extremely light weight, the armor consumes an enormous amount of energy to operate, projecting a field of pure electricity into the air.

The armor, utilizing a wide variety of trackers, including optical and sonar trackers, detects oncoming projectiles moving faster that 40 m/s, relative to the user.

Black Mesa Security Armor
Defense: -1 Speed: 0 Strength: Requirement: 2 - Weight: 12.5 pounds
Armor rating: 1/1 Damage Absorption: 1 Attack penalty: 0

This is the standard armor worn by Black Mesa Security Forces. Designed primarily to protect energy through traditional means, by absorbing kinetic energy and passively resisting penetrating due to high hardness and energy deflection, the armor is relatively effective at stopping basic threats, and reduces most non-armor piercing's rounds to bashing damage. The armor has no CBRN resistance, although it does provide +1 to all environmental hazards (such as cold temperatures, fire, or electricity). It generally covers most of the upper torso, head, groin, neck, shoulders, as well as boots.

The armor is 12.5 pounds, relatively light. Made of high strength carbonanotubes, and with an outside overlapping dyneema plate covering. The armor works by taking a relatively high hardness fracture resistant material, that fragments and deforms the bullet before entering the soft armor, reducing it's effect. While traditional kevlar and soft armor cannot stop high velocity or high hardness rifle rounds, this armor is designed specifically to be able to do so, without being excessively heavy, possessing a multilayered high strength composite construction.

Powered Combat Armor
Defense: -2 - Speed: -1 - Strength Requirement: 6 - Weight: 25 pounds
Armor rating: 2/2 - Damage Absorption: 2 - Attack penalty: 0

This is the standard armor worn by U.S. marines; as a powered combat suit, it's protection is much higher than that over standard kevlar and dyneema hard plates. It generally covers most of the upper torso, head, groin, neck, shoulders, as well as boots. Areas that are exposed include the arms and legs. Still protected in these areas are mild resistance to CBRN and environmental threats, providing a +2 resistance to all such threats; past this however, the user still needs to make a stamina roll to resistance damage, with a +1 bonus.

The armor, including the helmet and extra body coverage, is roughly 25 pounds. It's shock absorbers allow falls from relatively high heights, absorbing damage from falls equal to the suit's secondary armor rating (or mitigating 2 falling damage, also reducing the total damage done to the user past this point, or essentially increasing the height the user can fall before experiencing lethal damage from fall heights). The armor does not necessarily need to be removed to perform first aid, unless the wound is particularly severe.

The powered suit is more or less reactive armor; sensors detect the impact of an oncoming attack, and the electroactive polymers contract, equaling the force on the section of the armor where the impact is made. This helps to absorb some of the kinetic energy of the round, but more importantly resists penetration that would damage vital organ. While the electroactive polymers helps to largely mitigate the energy of the bullets, the high strength graphene coating more or less helps to prevent penetration. While the armor is not particularly heavy by itself, the high strength capacitors designed to hold the power necessary for the powered armor to operate make up a large portion of it's weight.

HEV SUIT
Defense: -3 - Speed: -2 - Strength Requirement: 8 - Weight 50 pounds
Armor rating: 3/4 - Damage Absorption: 2 - Attack penalty: -1

This is similar to the HEV suit worn by Gordan freeman however, unfortunately, the suit's power system is not activated, thus making most of it's advanced targeting and computer systems, as well as the powered exoskeleton and armor capabilities, largely mitigated. What's worse, since you are not a registered biologically identifiable user, it likely wouldn't respond to your commands, even if you understood how to use it; this does provide some benefit however, as this disables most of the tracking systems installed, making it harder for enemy forces to target you. Still, the suit covers the entire body, and it's Biological, Nuclear, Chemical, and general environmental resistances still function normally, as well as it's general armor protection, but it's rather large and bulky frame has to be supported by your body.

The suit is around 50 pounds, being relatively heavy, and providing substantial protection against most armed attacks; due to the sizable padding, it has substantially increase kinetic energy absorbing abilities, helping to absorb blunt force trauma significantly better than other forms of armor. It's shock absorbers allow falls from relatively high heights, absorbing damage from falls equal to the suit's secondary armor rating (or mitigating 4 falling damage, also reducing the total damage done to the user past this point, or essentially increasing the height the user can fall before experiencing lethal damage from fall heights), as well as halving falling damage, and reduces it to bashing damage, regardless of the height. In addition, this armor bonus provides resistance to damage sustained to yourself when trying to damage the structure of objects. In addition, the suit can provide and administer first aid automatically, providing a +3 bonus to all medicine based rolls while the suit is worn (and removing the need to remove the suit to provide medical aid).

Additionally, the suit provides an automatic +5 resistance to all Nuclear, Biological, Chemical, and general Environmental Threats, such as fire or electricity; still, above this rating, the user needs to make a stamina roll to resist damage, with a +2 bonus. The user gains resistance to pepper spray and tear gas, as well.

Active Camouflage
Defense: 0 - Speed: 0 - Strength Requirement: 2 - Weight 12.5 pounds
Armor rating: 1/1 Damage Absorption: 0 Attack penalty: -2

Worn by black ops unit's, this armor provides little to no protection, but does provide stealth enhancing capabilities. Providing +2 bonus to stealth rolls when moving, and +3 to stealth rolls when standing still, the armor works to enhance the stealth of the user by providing both reactive optic camouflage and by dampening the sound of the user. In addition, the user can make a stealth roll even with partial cover and concealment, to become hidden from the enemy, rather than needing to be completely hidden from sight (like usual). While the strength and athletic performance enhancing abilities are not available to the user when utilizing this armor, the stealth and camouflage abilities still are.

While the user does not turn invisible, the armor does allow the user to blend in with their surroundings more effectively, essentially presenting a picture of what's behind them in front, and vice versa. Essentially a flexible display, combined with cameras, the armor can essentially take wide, panoramic views at nearly every angle the user faces, and then display the picture behind the target in front, giving the appearance of translucence, or invisibility. The most important feature to this armor is the elevated meta material on the surface; while a display, like a TV, can provide a picture, it can't provide a shifting picture from every angle. While a typical monitor or TV display shows the same picture from every angle, the active camouflage creates a mirror like effect, similar to holographic cards, changing what the user sees from different angles. In this way, the armor projects a different display from a different angle, creating an optical illusion. Since the armor is not backlit, it provides little glow or problems with contrasting lights. This bonus does not stack with ordinary camouflage.

Enhanced Physical Performance Armor
Defense: -1 - Speed: +2 - Strength Requirement: 4 -Weight: 25 pounds
Armor rating: 1/1 Damage Absorption: 0 Attack penalty: 0 Health: 1 (2)

Worn by black ops unit's, this armor provides minimum protection, but more importantly provides physically enhancing effects. Providing a plus +1 bonus to Stamina, Strength, and Athletics, the armor essentially increases the users physical performance, by improving their own biomechanical function. It also provides a an additional +1 bonus to dexterity, to all actions excluding attack rolls (such as firearms or weaponry), and to strength rolls applying to lifting objects or carrying weight. In addition, it halves falling damage, and reduces it to bashing damage, regardless of the height, and doubles any jumping ranges. While it doesn't physically aid the user directly, it's effects help to increase the users own strength, endurance and general ability, through various biomechanical means.

The armor is approximately 25 pounds. It works through an advanced cooling system which detects the user's temperatures and regulates it during intense exercise, oxygen concentrators, enhanced biomechanic operation by taking pressure off of the joints and bones, and PFC stimulation, allowing the user greatly increased stamina, which translates to improved physical force. Filling the user full of PFC's and hemocyanin, it helps to increase oxygen absorption rates in the lungs, as well as oxygen and nutrient carrying capacity in the blood stream in general, utilizing free floating particles 40 times smaller than red blood cells, that are slightly more effective at absorbing oxygen and other nutrients. Capable of being delivered to tissue that traditional red blood cells can't, it's incredibly small size allows the heart to essentially pump the equivalent of more blood through it's system without significantly increasing blood volume or viscosity (I.E. increasing blood cells by the equivalent amount). This combined with the advanced cooling system, which focuses predominately on the feet, hands, jugular vein, and other key arteries and veins, help to decrease the stress of the user and lower their core body temperature, allowing them to push their body to greater levels than they're ordinarily capable of (By the time muscle temperatures near 104 degrees Fahrenheit, MPK activity completely shuts down; keeping the body below this temperature can enhance performance drastically). Additionally, the slightly powered exoskeleton (running on just a few watts) helps to better distribute the load the individual carries (with reactive springs), and springs on the boots allow the user to mitigate 3 points of fall damage, or the equivalent when trying to damage the structure of an object. The oxygen concentrator mask utilizes a nitrogen scrubber and decompressor to increase natural ambient oxygen levels, to 60%. This allows far more oxygen to enter the bloodstream without as intense respiration, which takes the effort off the user's lungs, and increases their capabilities beyond that of what an ordinary human could.
