I didn't want to include a specific sub-genre or anything so this doesn't turn into a "that is not metal" -thread.
This place is just about the music you yourself enjoy! emotion_dealwithit

So come in and share some of your favourite bands, songs or albums!
Have a cool band merchandise you'd like to show a picture of?
How about a fav band t-shirt?

Basically you can discuss about anything ranging from news about bands, gig and tour experiences and to posting a song or a cool video you get kicks out of.

I listened to the classic version of Hall of the Mountain King a lot when I was younger. Now I have this. Gives me the chills.

I have some One-Eyed Doll merch that's pretty awesome. The crowning glory is the "Be My Friend" hoodie pictured down below, but I also have a con pass that Kimberly Freeman bit and signed for me the first time I met her.

When I ordered the hoodie, XL was the only size available, and I told her I wished I'd gotten to the site sooner so I could order a size S. I also joked that the XL jacket would be great for holding in body heat. When the jacket arrived in the mail, I found that not only had she sent me a size S jacket so it would fit better; she'd also included three packs of candy, two plastic dinosaur toys and a hand-written note telling me that she hoped the jacket would fit well and keep me warm, and that she wanted to see pictures of me in the jacket on her FB page.

Hence why I'm a fan for life. XD

^Epicness!
I really like some classical music too, and this is Mozart's "Dies Irae" by symphonic metal band Therion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBObJVvPbUA

Also Therion performing "O Fortuna": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIkxddSMP0M

Wow, that's amazing!

Double post.

I finally had time to listen to Ensiferum's new album; One Man Army.
I haven't gotten that much chills in some time, felt good haha.

So far my favourite songs from the album are Cry For the Earth Bounds, Heathen Horde and both "Heathen Throne Part III" songs; My Ancestor's Blood and Descendants, Defiance, Domination.

Also Two of Spades was something I wasn't expecting and that's why I kind of wish I could see them perform it live.

Never heard of Ensiferum before (Finnish folk metal band, typical xp ) I've heard some of the best metal bands are from there, so I guess I should't be surprised. (Eurovision 2006 flashback... Those costumes...)
Cry for the Earth's bounds is beautiful. Brilliant melody combined with the array of vocals. Brilliant! A lot of the time, metal bands have no melody, and just scream. It ruins the song... In my opinion, songs need some form of melody.
I found a norwegian indie folk-rock band, Glittertind, who also do some good songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k79XjRJM170 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw1PYkL_CKc emotion_kirakira

Folk inspired heavier music is epic!

Scandinavian metal/rock can be very good... I shall explore some more I think.

That sounded really nice, I could party to this song! mrgreen
(Yeeeeah I remember my mom waking me up in the middle of the night '06 when she was yelling "What we won the Eurovision!!!" I don't usually follow Eurovision song contests but I really rooted for Lordi that year. xd )
