Seeing as child play where he was from meant children violently brawling with one another, that was debatable, but he understood what she meant by the phrase. The unmentioned curiosity around his arm and why he made no attempt to conceal it wouldn’t allow the truth to surface, the truth being that he wanted to remember how he lost it to begin with. It was a treacherous memory, but he let his pain make him stronger. If he was going to have all that trauma, he may as well have used it to his advantage.

He had no idea what atoms were, but if that’s what she handled, then he wouldn’t question it. He wasn’t stupid, but he could memorize the angles of shots way better than he could memorize equations. There were some things he inevitably learned, like learning English, which was considered the Galactic Standard, used to allow people of numerous worlds to speak a single common language. He also understood basic math and science, enough to help him in a fight or pilot a ship, but not enough to become some sort of scientist. “It’s their loss. I haven’t had a decent conversation in years.” It was one thing to simply not talk much, another to not even have something as basic as a conversation, some form of social interaction when people are genuinely looking to talk because they’d like to. He didn’t consider wealthy and murderous men providing him with names and numbers with lots of zeros a decent conversation.

Monica had to smile a bit, glad that she did not went on so much to annoy him. She knew that he might not know about her work, but he really did not need to know about atoms unless he went into her field or wanted to learn more about it. "That makes two of us. The last time I had a decent conversation was probably in high school. Gina probably was the closest thing to a friend I had since then, but not close enough to know all my secrets. Right now, I am kind of glad I did not get that close to her." She said with a slight smile. "How much time do you have now?" She asked, realizing they were talking for a while. She almost lost track of time, but she did knew it was under an hour.

He nodded at her words. It was a rare occasion in which he was glad he didn’t do away with someone, as most dangerous secrets were sent where they belonged, buried with the people who carried them. For her sake, he was glad she didn’t get too close to her friend, too, because if she did, his employer would’ve added her to the list, and he would not enjoy taking her out. However, her choice of words made her curious to who the male from yesterday was. “It’s been twenty minutes since you asked before, so a little less than forty.” When he’d realized that, overall, he’d spoken to her for over half an hour, he was astonished. “It’s a first for everything today.”

“It’s nice to talk, but I’m not going to pretend I didn’t trespass before I was ever welcomed,” he said, with a subtle but existent humorous undertone to his words. “I’m curious. Why didn’t you want me to leave?” If a trespasser came, the reasonable thing to do would be to make him leave as soon as possible, but she didn’t. With all the uncertainty, and no clear guarantee that he wouldn’t hurt her—though by now it was safe to say he likely wouldn’t—she didn’t make him go.

"That is a good question." Monica replied with a subtle smile. "I actually have more than one reason." She said, thinking about the first time they met. "For one, most of the time when I meet someone from Suldar, they try to kill me on sight when they realize that I am only half. Even though you are a killer for a living, you are different from them somehow. Second, there was just something about your aura when you were about to leave that told me to let you stay if you wanted. As for the last reason, there is just something about you that I find myself attracted to. I just can't put my finger on it at the moment, but I will figure it out sooner or later." She said, blushing a little at the last part.

He managed to smirk. It wasn’t often that he smiled outside a hunt, but their interaction was amusing. “I’d like to see you again, if you’ll allow it,” he replied. He added the last words in specifically so that he wouldn’t just enter her home on his own accord. It wasn’t often he said that, especially not under these circumstances when he initially came just to make sure she wouldn’t play the tragic hero. He liked her company and found her attractive both physically and conversationally. He would, however, understand if she declined. As she stated, he was a killer for a living, and that may have risked complications in her life. He didn’t want to be a burden, especially when she’d been so kind to him. Throughout their relatively brief time together, she’d managed to gain his respect.

Monica looked a little surprised, but she ended up smiling a bit. "I would like that, too." She sincerely said. Yes, he is a killer for hire, and he could complicate her life. Yes, there is a possibility that her life could be in more danger for just associating with him, but as she was concerned, her life was already in danger due to the fact that she actually did work for the syndicate, even if she did not really knew it before. She did not really care who she worked for just as long as Empatia was not being threaten in any way. She just hoped that she would never have to deal with that dilemma.

After she accepted, he stated his contact number, one that he hadn’t expected to ever really share with anyone other than employers. The only thing he’d have to break the habit of is answering as if the person needed him to kill someone. The last thing he wanted to do would be to receive a call from her and respond with, 'Who needs to die?’

Unfortunately their time had to be cut shorter than anticipated. In the middle of putting his phone away, he received a message. He just needed to sort out previous business. “I’ve got to leave sooner than I intended.” He wasn’t happy about it, but his schedule was all over the place these days.

Monica was about to put it on her phone contact list, but she figured it would be best just to memorize it or put in a notebook that she leaves in her safe. In his line of work, he does not need someone hacking into her phone and seeing his contact number. That could turn ugly for both of them. It was probably a good thing that she had perfect memory went it came to that kind of information. "I understand." She said with a slight smile, letting him go to do his business, whatever it was.

After nodding his head and standing, he walked towards the door. “Ogra sov dupa elav,” he said in his native tongue, which simply translated to ‘Thank you and farewell.’ After he opened the door and was in the middle of walking out, he paused, but didn’t turn his head. “My name’s Galen, by the way.” He let that settle before making a complete exit, the door closed behind him. He hadn’t told anyone in his name in a very long time, so it was a gesture of trust. She figured she’d earned the right to refer to him more properly than the name people who hired him or died by his hands knew him. About ten minutes after he left, the phone would ring, the number from one of Genesis’ offices.

Monica did not spoke Suldari very often, but she could understand it. She smile a bit and expected him to leave right away, but he paused for a moment. He told her his real name, which she figured was a sign that he trusted her. She was a little shocked by this, but she was happy that she found someone that she did not have to always have her guard up around, even if he was Suldari. She knew that this could complicate her life, but she thought it was worth it.

Once he was gone, she took his mug and went into the kitchen to wash it. After she cleaned all the pots and mugs, she back into her living room and sat on her couch. She sighed when she heard her phone ring, and then, she picked it up. The message said something about having a contract offer for her. "How interesting." She said to herself as she got up from the couch and walked out of the door.
