Ranging from the simple undead, spirits raised from death, to elementals and their kin, and higher spirits that exist in no other form, Spirit races are a little known branch of Mundus Verden's ecology. They are here as surely as any other race, but little is known about them, and many refuse to believe they even exist, though their influence over the world can be seen in ways many may not even recognize.

Dullahan
Description
The Dullahan is an animated suit of armor, often believed to be animated by the enraged soul of a fallen warrior, either decapitated in battle, or executed. Regardless, it is known that the Dullahan armor contains a soul, which allows it to move about and act as a normal living being. The Dullahan's appearance is that of an empty suit of armor, without a head. Where the head would normally be, ethereal smoke rises from the gap in the armor, which many believe to be the Dullahan's soul. The Dullahan is immortal, and can only be killed temporarily, by destroying it's soul via spells or magical weapons. The soul can also only hold up so long in combat, and will perish when it runs out of endurance. However, what makes the Dullahan even more fearsome is that when the defeated armor is taken and worn, the armor claims the soul of it's wearer. In this state the armor is impossible to remove without killing the wearer, and once the wearer is dead, the Dullahan is revived, using the new soul to fuel it's life. For this reason Dullahan armor is sometimes worn by warriors who wish to kill their enemies even after death, or kept by mages capable of manipulating souls to serve as personal soldiers. The only way to permanently destroy a Dullahan, is to permanently destroy it's armor. If the metal is even reused to make new armor, the Dullahan may still survive in it.
Requirements
► Being absorbed by a suit of Dullahan armor that has no soul will allow the new soul to control the armor. ► A warrior in full armor, killed by decapitation, may apply to become a Dullahan. ► A mage can use soul magic to attach a soul to a suit of armor, creating a new Dullahan.
Statistics
► Average Height: A Dullahan's height varies according to what species the armor was designed for, minus the height of a head. ► Average Weight: As with their height, a Dullahan's weight is equal to the armor it possesses. ► Alignment: Dark ► Language: A Dullahan can become fluent in any language spoken by a soul it has absorbed, in addition to an inherent understanding of the Ancient Tongue.
Racial Traits
Racial Skills
► Soul Trap ► Prerequisites: Autolearned by all Dullahan ► Class: Dark ► Description: Whenever a soul enters the embrace of a Dullahan's armor, be it implanted via spells, passing through in ethereal form, or a mortal foolishly wearing the armor, that soul is permanently tied to the armor, becoming fuel for it's life. The soul's maximum Endurance stat is copied, and added to the Dullahan's own. This kills souls that only exist in soul form, and entraps those that are in a mortal body within the armor until they too perish. If the mortal is large enough to wear the armor properly, they retain control until they die, and the Dullahan lies dormant, but when they die the Dullahan resurfaces.
