Wellspring, quite simply, did not want to be at home. He did not want to be near any others, make contact with anypae or anything that could potentially be harmed by these powers of his. No, until he was absolutely, positively, 100% sure that he had them under control, societal interaction was little more than an anxiety attack.
It would have to be for him to choose to leave the safety of the tree.
Let his mind wander too far and he still could find himself present right as the explosion had hit, the dust and the shouts and the sickeningly suffocating feeling in his chest from drying out. It was a terrible, terrible memory that he just wished he could forget. Sometimes he believed that he had, but then I would rear its nasty head in a nightmare. The angels and demons, especially, frightened him. Maybe not consistently, maybe not when in the presence of others like him, maybe not when he hadn't the time to question their motives.
But he would hate to find himself alone with one.
His mother always warned him and chastised him for these wanderings.
But, as far as he saw it, even if he was at risk here, at least those in the tree were safe from him.
Besides, it wasn't as if he ever saw others in the forest either.

Unfortunately for the distressed Wellspring, there was indeed someone dwelling in the forest with him. But at the current moment, the demon himself was not aware of the company nearby.
Deus had been lounging comfortably in a deep crook at the base of a branch, and up against a tree trunk. Lying in it for hours, shaded by the thick, lush canopy of leaves surrounding him, he'd managed to doze off for a considerable amount of time. He only manged to break free of his restful slumber, when a wind lightly whispered by, shifting his tousled, long bangs, causing them to tickle his face. The gentle brushing made his nose wriggle, scrunch, before he gave a small sneeze, waking him just the same. Blinking a few times lethargically, he slowly looked around, as his mind started to catch up and assess the waking world around.
Arms stretched up over his head, a yawn spreading, and his large leathery wings flaring out to loosen up too. Carefully, he stood up, and walked along the branch towards the end, before letting himself fall off of it. He didn't unfurl his wings again until nearing the bottom, the massive extensions of skin catching him suddenly, but with ease, and letting him drift to the ground without harm. Grinning a bit... smugly, the demon twitched his tail about while his eyes scanned the area. He was feeling quite a bit peckish... surely there was something to snack on around here.

Wellspring was not the most observant of pae when left to his thoughts, so he payed little attention to the slight shift in the air current and the sound of rustling leaves near him. He might have made an effort to avoid walking towards the other in the forest. There wasn't anywhere in particular he tried to visit, but rather he just walked until the sun reached a certain point in the sky, then returned home.
Eyes glanced downwards to his still-new claw, a sigh escaping his lips. Everything had become so strange and so twisted after the tree was attacked. His body changed: a new hand, legs, and skin that no longer relied on water to exist. Then is mother had twins... which were cute, but even they, too, were now changing in strange ways. Golden fur and nubs for antlers... How did that even happen? And this power to top it all off...
If only things could return to the way they used to be.

With a little more excessive stretching, and lashing about of his tail, Deus eyed the shrubbery that was lush around him, then his gaze scaled further upwards to peer into the canopies in hopes they may be bearing fruit. It was a little early on, but... some bloomed early than others.
It was during this scoping that he noticed something bright and vibrant standing out from the greenery and various browns that were the trees. It stood out so obviously that Deus himself was a bit surprised he'd missed it entirely. Squinting a little, he attempted half-heartedly--or perhaps lazily-- to better see what ever it was up there hidden in the branches. But it was pointless from the ground floor. So with a spreading of his wings, he pushed off to take flight again, and inspect at a closer range.
In fact... he seemed to have no problem letting himself land at the end of the branch that the other Pae was residing on, staring curiously at the stranger, his lips pursing in a mild expression of disappointment, "Hm. You're not what I'm looking for.." he muttered. But his eyes did travel along the strangers form rather intensely... intrigued by the array of combinations that were displayed on them.

Something was to be said of a pae that could accidentally climb a tree when left to their thoughts, even if it was but one of the lower branches. With only one decent hand, he really should have noticed.
He noticed all to suddenly at the feeling of rocking that came from another joining him.
A surprised yelp escaped his mouth at this, his claw and hand holding onto the branch dearly and his little wings fluttering to keep from falling backwards. Once stabilized he sighed before glancing to the side curiously to see what had caused such a ruckus. A squirrel perhaps...? Blinking, he stared at the male before him for a moment before abruptly glancing away and hiding his claw. What was a... a demon doing here of all places?! He wasn't all that far from the Tree at all! Was that it, was he scoping out Laisidhiel?
"Wha... What do you want...?" He half-grumbled, half whispered, his eyes continuously looking down and away. Even if it was one of them... He couldn't in good conscience look at him directly.
