[[Parent characters and maybe other herd members are welcome to stop by to see the little ones. xD There will be an appearance of Granpa Aubery in there somewhere. ]] Small hooves carried the small orange and flower adorned filly around the area that was called home. Her mother was off somewhere, having told the children she would be back after a small outing, what type of 'outing' her mother was on made the small filly curious. Bloody colored eyes watched the direction that Damiana had vanished within, her small wings stretching to her sides. Jasmine wanted to know just what her mother was up to when she left and why she had fangs and their purpose. Surely they had one, nothing came without something. Tilting her head, eyes to the sky, Jasmine breathed out a sigh before turning back to where her siblings were.
The was the second eldest of five, her twin being the youngest, how this happened she wasn't too sure. But this meant little to jasmine, she loved her family and the place that they had been birthed into. The Shadow lands held great mystery and excitement. She was just itching to explore past the bounds her parents had set up for their safety. They were still young, small and the larger members might not be too keen to their existence. Or so it sounded to her young ears, from the whispers floating around like song birds. Head filled with thoughts and questions, she neglected to really pay attention to anyone as she wandered around again in a bit of a haze.

Born with the body that resembles the night skies, adorned with dark green curly mane and tail, Elisabetta have an huge advantage over her other siblings when it comes to 'hunting' games or stalking and she's fully aware of it while utilizing that advantage to its most fullest potential. Her emerald colored eyes watches her siblings from her 'perch' above them that she felt she is entitled to because she's the eldest out of five siblings. As her mother told them that she would be back after a small outing, Elisabetta cocks her head to side, not sure what to do because she's almost always glued to her mother's side and she looks at Jasmine puttering around ahead of her.
Her wings flutters against her body when she leaps down from her perch, staring up at the skies, wondering if she would be able to spread her wings out and go to the skies that matches her body colors but there are so many questions that are fluttering around in her head along with curiosity about everything around her. Walking toward the imposed boundary line that their parents warned them not to cross because the world isn't safe for them at the moment, Elisabetta pauses as she looks out at the scenery in front of her that she's forbidden to explore. With a little huff, she turns around and stalks back to Jasmine, eyeing her sister curiously. "You ok?" Her vocabularies are terribly limited due to her age so her incapability to talk frustrates her even more.

Papa had told them not to go any further in the woods than the line drawn in the loam. Something about not getting under anyone's hooves and something something something mumbled as he limped away. Papa limped. He wouldn't explain why, but he glanced at Mother with a happy, if rueful, smile on his face when she asked. Hmph. Was it that difficult to explain?
With Mother on an errand, the foals were left alone. Something told Dahlia that he didn't really trust the herd yet. That was something else he wouldn't explain. Darnit, couldn't he tell her anything?! The filly was annoyed, and scraped her hooves against the ground as she paced back and forth. It was only by her short flight downwards that she noticed her eldest sister. She jumped back. Elisabetta was almost the only member of the Shadow Herd that blended into their dark home. Coat as black as shadows, white speckles like fungus, and of course, her mane and tail--Great-Grandfather's, according to Papa--were like the needles of the pines and firs above them. Dahlia, her own coat standing out like a tree in the desert, smiled at her, and at her next-eldest sister, Jasmine, who stood nearby. "You too?" she asked Jasmine.
Maybe she could convince her sisters to go exploring with her. They had to get out of here before they got too cooped up. There had to be other foals to play with, so why couldn't they just leave? And why wouldn't Mother let them accompany them on her errand? No fair. So of course, any expedition would need to be performed together. With her sisters, so that no one could tattle on each other.

Jessamine shadowing her twin slipped in beside Jasmine silently as she could a small grin played upon her features showing her sharp vampiric fangs. She'd been watching nearby. After all she wasn't ever very far from Jasmine. Jessamine was lighter in color than Jasmine her twin and Jessamine's hair was inverted but other than that the two were completely identical and they were always together in some way and lately Jessamine had taken up mimicking her sister practicing to make it harder for others to tell them apart. Jessamine could tell Jasmine was curious about where Mother had gone and Jessamine couldn't help but be a bit curious too. Jessamine was glad when Jasmine turned back. She nudged her twin 'we'll get to see one day' she said without words.
Jessamine's Gaze fell to her other sisters Dahlia and Elise. what were they up do? Mother had said to stay here after all.

Phlox yawned sleepily and glared at the weak sunshine filtering through the branches above the tree where he leaned. The Arcturus-Solara swore to himself, if he stayed here five minutes longer, he'd bore himself to sleep. He had no idea why the parental units kept their den out here. The blue colt wouldn't've cared, either, if there was enough space to really run around, which was all Phlox really wanted. Enough space to test his young legs, and maybe test his wings, without needing to nest like Elisabetta did.
It was vaguely weird, really, being one of the only boys in their small family unit. There was Mother, Father, the twins, Elisabetta, and Dahlia. Four sisters, two of them being twins that acted almost creepily alike, one liking to nest in trees like a bird, and the fourth...well....
Phlox got the distinct impression that Dahlia would be the first to break the ruling today to not leave the den. Not that he minded the idea. Phlox was feeling bored and cooped up, and doing anything that would get him some exercise sounded like a good idea.
He straightened himself and sidled over toward Dahlia and Jasmine. "Whatcha up to?" he asked, curious, yes, but also intent on joining whatever scheme Dahlia might be cooking up. Anything to avoid boredom, and absolutely to avoid the proverbial cabin fever.

Jessamine looked at her only brother "Nooooooothing," she paused Rocking back and forth somewhat innocently like the young vampess would ever do anything bad "yet." she added mischievously with a giggle. she was going to a naughty one. The room full of her sisters. She grinned as Jasmine. What kind of trouble could they get into today? I mean this was shadow. What could they possibly mess with.. and who. Jessamine knew they had a lot of relatives. One of them maybe?
She glanced at their oldest sister for ideas. Mom had said to stay but, Jessamine was restless, she wanted to go out. She had a feeling she wasn't the only one.

He was black like the night, a coming thunderstorm and even the shadows itself, his large leather bound wings flourished with many bright blue and purple designs. From his head sprouted the long horn of his line, much like Damiana's and those of hir children... Part of them anyways. Today this large shadow of a Solara mix hovered over the grounds of the Shadow herd, he had been searching for his wayward 'son'. It seems that he has found him, but no in the same condition that he had wanted.
Aubery dove to the ground just outside the lines of sight, his hooves carrying him the distance through the trees to where the foals were left, on their lonesome. Careless was his Damiana, but he supposed that this was more or less to test the responsibilities of the foals. But surely these young things couldn't stay alone so soon. The large stallion frowned as he watched them, taking note of their colors and features. Most were girls with a solitary colt, how his son came to have so many children he didn't know. After watching them for a bit, Aubery stepped forward to make himself known. His bulk shifting through the shadows and trees almost like water as he made his way towards to foals.
"hello there my little ones." Was all he uttered looking at the five foals with a fanged smile. Knowing that probably none would know of him, he doubted that Damiana would speak of him. Jasmine had faintly noticed that her sister, her twin had come up beside her. Then again her thoughts were beyond what they were given to play within. Stopping a moment she looked back to the rest of her siblings, they were all a variant of colors, herself and Jassamine being the strikingly similar coloration. She turned completely she headed over towards her sisters, wonder what they were up to.
"This is getting boring, I would love to go outside this place and explore." She voiced loudly, not knowing that something else was listening and watching them. It was only until a deeper voice rippled through the air.
Wings flaring out, Jasmine leaped around to stare at the larger stallion have was at the fringes of their safe place. Well, she had wanted something new... It seemed that she was getting her wish...
