Run a message here, take this to them, find the prince, is there enough food, errand after errand she felt like she was all over the place all the time! Ripple never got the chance to just cousy up to a mate at the end of the day, she didn't have one unlike most of the pride. So she took it on herself to do all the things she could to ensure everyone else got time with their loved ones. Mates, family's, friends again she didn't really have any. Many called her their friend but she rarely did anything unoffical with anyone nor had she since she joined with her adopted mother Lupo. The dragon had cared for her from the day she'd apparently found her egg on the beach, along with two others and together they'd come here. Even her mother was occupied with her own life now... having finally made it offical with her mate Ripple could tell it wouldn't be long before they'd have pups. Lupo was a great mum, with her, her foster siblings and even the... thing Blitzen had brought back from a party.

Giving everyone their space but still being productive for the pride was slowly working away at her will to do anything else. Having been so desperate to find her own place in the herd and prove herself it wasn't till just about everyone around her had love that she realised what she was misses out on. Plus there was that slight problem of her attitude, she wasn't the most outgoing or friendly of dragon on the Isle. Her posture and tone rarely wavered from it's official air and she'd over heard many times that others considered her pompous in attitude a lot.

Whatever.

Today she was patrolling around the boarders of the Pride, unlike others she took the duty very seriously and she was hawk eye and ready for any thing out of the ordinary. They'd not had a real threat yet, but the nature of their group did produce unsavoury comments from others who where less understanding. Though she herself hadn't the foggiest of her own orientation she had admired the princess Sachi from a far a few times. Whether it was her appearance, her personality or simply her carefree attitude that was heavy in the royal line here she didn't know. Even if she was even noticed in returned she had never had official business to make conversation with the dragoness and thus disregarded any notion of ever approaching her.

Was Ripple unlike her mother Lupo? Who had taken a male mate, and her foster siblings who had taken each other for mates... or had she just never seen a male she could do more than simply admire.... or be jealous of their freedom/position. It was a chain of thought that did her no good, it simply drove her round in circles and distracted from the things that needed to be done. Hell. Wasn't like anyone else was going to do them, so if she failed.... the whole pride would be at risk!

It had been a pleasant day. Squack had decided it was a day to wander. The last pond she'd decided to live near had been rather small with only a few waterfowl to keep her company. Typically she liked larger bodies of water with a small cave near, but this last one has seemed suitable for whatever reason. But then one day the birds had left, leaving her bereft and signaling the start of another round of wandering.

Today's adventure had uncovered another small pond. This one was without her living cave so she wouldn't be staying. But today there were plenty of birds. So she'd decided to stay for a time. And so she sat on the edge, one front foot nearly hanging into the water, quacking at the birds happily. They seemed to be gathered in a semi circle in the water quacking right back at Squack.

Turning a corner on her patrol route Ripple exited the beach and into the foliaged parts that in her estimation held far more danger than the open scenery of sand and sea. Here there were plenty of places to hide, shadowed corners and undergrowth where things could lurk. It may of been clear every other day but it only took the one time for everyone's to be in danger! Sticking her head in this bush and that she carried on being as thorough as possible, it was her duty.

After several hours of her search she was pleased she hadn't found anything, less effort for her even if the thrill of something happening could be an interesting change to her day to day activity. Peeking at the sun she was on schedule for her brief break to grab a drink whilst also scouting the pond. Slowing her pace as she was officially calling herself 'off duty' for a bit she made her way to parch her thirst.

To her surprise she'd done a double take at the figure by her source of rest and tilted her head, was this dragoness a threat? Peering from side to side she checked if there was anyone else... didn't appear to be so. In a one on one Ripple was confident in her own skills even against a lion.

So taking a breath she approached "Hey! Your on the boarders of an established Pride, what are your intentions?" It may of been overkill but seeing as she'd no idea of the others intent she had to be forward and ask.

The sudden harsh words were startling. Not only to her but to the birds as well. They flew off in a flurry of wings and angry squacks. Squack frowned. She hadn't been doing nothing and neither had the birds. "Quack (What?)? Squack squeak quack (The birds weren't doing anything.). Squeak quack quack (And neither was I.)." She turned her face so she could frown at the intruder and see them finally.

Unexpectedly, it was a female dragon like her. But unlike her the female dragon had actual words, and rude ones at that. Her frown deepened. She pulled back on her haunches and sat resolutely. She was not moving. She was not a threat and she hadn't been hurting anyone.

Taken by another surprise Ripple didn't quite believe the noises coming from the other individual, in fact she had to double check all the birds had flown off so they weren't the source. It wasn't till the other dragon turned around and she saw the frown that she was sure the indignant squacks had indeed come from her. Where they aggressive? Ripple had spent a lot of time around mutes and others that mainly communicated with body language in the Pride and something was saying no. The other wasn't happy though and as good as she was she had to ensure this other posed no threat.

Taking a few steps closer to the side her gaze still on the other dragoness she persisted to try and find out if she had anything to worry about. "Do you plan to hurt me or my pride?" She asked again a simple question this time that only really required one answer. Sure the other could lie with a simply head shake or squack over and over, Ripple was hoping she'd be able to read the body language again to determine how to further approach this situation.
