[Nurarihyon Legend]
Raizen is what is known as a Yōkai Demon (妖怪, Yōkai; Literally meaning "Ghost, Phantom, Strange apparition") is a term used for wide variety of supernatural creatures from Japanese folklore. It seems that Raizen is also classified as a water demon . According to his father the Nurarihyon started out as the demonization of a large jellyfish by a Lunar Goddess, and is also sometimes believed to be descended from the Umibōzu of Okayama Prefecture. The original Nurarihyon is usually depicted as an elderly man wearing the clothes of a Buddhist monk, and is described as the sort of demon that always manages to elude one's grasp. Nurarihyon are described as demons that can alter a persons perception of reality, also having control over dreams. The Nurarihyon will sneak into someone's house while they are away, drink their tea, and act as if it is their own house. Because it looks human, anyone who sees him will mistake him for the owner of the house, making it very hard to expel him. The Nurarihyon are, essentially, very stealthy demon who use their control over an enemy's senses to defeat or evade them. They are also said to have enough charisma to lead The Hyakki Yagyō, ("Night Parade of One Hundred Demons")
Legend has it that "every year the yokai Nurarihyon, will lead all of the yōkai through the streets of Japan during summer nights." Anyone who comes across the procession would perish or be spirited away by the youkai, unless protected by handwritten scrolls by anti-yokai onmyoji spellcasters. It is said that only an onmyoji clan head is strong enough to pass Nurarihyon's Hyakki Yagyo unharmed.

From nowhere Raizen appeared as a simple hermit who travelled from place to place with no set agenda during the Sengoku Era and eventually gained some fame in the Kantō area. He spends almost every waking minute attempting to bring absolute honor and strength to his clan's name. His skills are notable,and he is widely considered one of the most powerful Yōkai swordsman of his time, and thus is both admired and feared by beings of all walks of life. There were very few that would even think of assaulting Raizen, moreover, even less would try it. In a world where bloodlines are a huge factor of power, Raizen is a man that earned his influence through forming bonds with people.

It should be noted that unlike most Yokai Raizen is not evil or malicious. Though it's said that he plays pranks on humans, he doesn't really hate them - rather, he doesn't believe humans should interfere in yōkai affairs. Due to his power and nature Rihan has frequently been seen bypassing strong demonic barriers and making himself at home in Onmyoji Clan houses. While he is usually shoo'd,or outright driven away he has become friends with a few Onmyoji. The most notable of these individuals being Aster Tsukikage, who he grew an unbreakable friendship with despite their conflicting backgrounds and ideologies.

Fighting Style:
Kyōka Suigetsu-hō Hikarakuyō (Law of Kyōka Suigetsu: Falling Blossoms and Scattering Leaves): A style known for it's relaxed elegant and smooth techniques. The main tactic for the style is not to meet an opponent with full strength but to flow around them like a sakura petal dancing in the wind,and to flow like water. The style is mainly a battojutsu style keeping the sword sheathed for the start of the fight before drawing the blade at lightning speed landing a series of attacks to finish the fight before re-sheathing the blade, though it is common to see Raizen to flow around attacks and strike with the sheathed sword. Rather than utilizing singular hits to create an enormous amount of damage, the Raizen concentrates his efforts in the build up of damage over an extensive period of time. Therefore, he is able to cause his opponent's stamina to be winded down significantly, while also causing them to be in severe pain from the constant slashes that are placed upon them. To utilize this style Raizen must empty his mind,and be formless,shapeless like water. If you put water into a cup,it becomes the cup.You put water in a bottle and it becomes the bottle. That water can flow,or it can crash. To be like water one must be able to function in any scenario they are thrown into and, react accordingly. Rihan should now when to speed up or slow down,when to expand and when to contract,when to remain flowing and when to crash. It is the awareness that both life and battle can be shapeless and ever changing that allows one to be able to adapt to those changes instantaneously and bring forth the appropriate solution. To utilize this style Rihan must become unpredictable, and strike from his subconscious mind. His moves flow out of his individual essence. Even the most masterful opponent will fall from a strike that has no history or reference. Since his principal weapons are swords, Rihan has spent his entire life perfecting the art of swordplay to the point that he is able to fight against any master, and any other who would dare cross blades with him.
Amakakeru Ryū no Hirameki (天翔龍閃, 天翔龍の閃 or 天翔龍之閃; Flash of the Heavenly Flying Dragon):Raizen mainly relies on swordplay as his primary method of offense this is his signature Iaido sword style. With his strength Raizen can unleashes slashes, that result in a powerful blades of pressure that appears as faint ripples of wind at his foe at high speeds; this attack enables Rihan to assault things which are out of his sword's range, sending slashes which fly through the air itself. These blades of wind possess incredible range and devastating power; and Raizen has mastered this ability to the point that it can cut through most barriers. In close combat the immense force of the enhanced slash cuts the air in front of it and creates a powerful vacuum in its wake as the deflected air rushes back into place. Any opponent to deflect or dodge the first swing will have a high chance of being subjected to this vacuum and be inexorably pulled closer to Raizen. Even a missed swing naturally leads Raizen into an accelerated spin. This in addition to the pulling force of the vacuum on both side results in a second strike that greatly dwarfs the first in power. This is best explained to the following indium: "Even if you avoid the fangs of the flying dragon the gusting winds strip away freedom of movement and the claws would rip you apart".

Regardless of who owns them, a meito is regarded with highest respect in Japan and to be wielding a meito is to carry a great honor alongside it.
Madō Zekken is designed to tremendously increase the damage potential and destructive power of the user. While it is capable of dealing heavy blows and is extremely hard, Madō Zekken seems to be somewhat sentient as Raizen constantly comments about its feelings. The blade is used by Raizen for two different reasons. The first the ability absorb the powers and abilities of any material, substance, or form of energy it destroys, making itself more powerful. The second is access to the one of his ancestors signature technique.

↔ Murakumo Tentōken (Gathering Clouds of Heaven Sword of Paradise"): It takes the form of a straight single edged shirasaya katana. As such the sheath and handle lack decoration and a tsubas. Both the handle and scabbard are a light tan, which gives the entire sword the appearance of an ordinary walking stick.

1↔ Osore (Fear):The general concept of the "fear" revolves around being feared and respected by others. It is said to be an advanced form of Mirage Chi. Raizen can naturally evoke and increase fear and horror in others causing the target’s brain to release fear-inducing chemicals and over load the senses or cause nightmares while they sleep. The victim’s perception may be altered, causing them see their environment as ominous and the user as dark and foreboding, or even seen as a monster. This also includes the ability to control one's own killing intention and use it to intimidate the victims or feeding off the fear of other to strengthen the user.The user can give off their pure killing intent, affecting the opponents, themselves, and others around the vicinity. Particularly strong killing intent can paralyze the victim in fear, causing them to morbidly hallucinate their own deaths, or even kill them by forcing the mind to believe the death is reality
By using this power the Raizen can make it difficult for an opponent to locate and, by extension attack him in battle.With Osore Raizen can command detailed illusions,yet this power is focused for defense and intimidation purposes only. It could be from simple illusions, such as Thought Projection, all the way to extremely complex illusions which momentarily remove one's very existence from the real world.
2↔ Kehai Hatsu (Presence Manifestation):The physical manifestation of Raizen's will power and killing intent projected outward or given shape. In This can be seen as his power slowly manifests around the him as an aura which then expands and molds in a any shape he chooses. Since it is formed through the materialization of Raizen's will, he is able to freely move around within the manifestations body as well as levitate inside of it,and can also leave its body entirely while maintaining it. While the materialization acts as a strong defense against external attacks, anything coming out of its body will simply pass through it.
3↔ Tenebrous Flame (Flame of Darkness):It has the distinct appearance of a heavy, inky darkness. Its main function is to connect different areas through portals for a quick escape,and over all focused on defensive combat. This technique's effect acts as an attractive force, both visibly drawing the target inwards and distorting their form until they disappear, although physical contact is required to absorb a target. After absorbing targets through this process,Raizen is able to eject them at any time of his choosing, demonstrating the ability to eject objects with varying degrees of force. This attack can only defend and redirect things through the portals as if they were a gateway between two locations.
4↔Tenebrous Teleportation: in which Rihan places a special seal to mark an intended destination. After this is done, he can instantaneously transports himself,or something he's touching to the location of the seal. The mark can be applied to almost any area through brief physical contact, including an opponent or other surrounding feature. The marking never disappears from a marked target until it is used.

2↔ Makkuragan (Eye of Total Darkness):Makkuragan is the rare power of the Kurayami clan. When invoked Raizen's amber eyes glow and his sclera darken he then shrouds an area in Darkness Chi. The shroud absorbs all light. It is a very powerful technique used by him to disorient his enemies easily. With the help of his Darkness Chi, she can shroud an area in complete blackness and, by extension, greatly reduce visibility for those affected. Since he has no difficulty seeing in complete darkness Raizen able to take advantage of that strength.
3↔Makkuragan Shin Kyōka Suigetsu ( True Mirror Flower- Water Moon) This Osore technique envelops Raizen' in a wispy smoke-like darkness Chi that clouds him from his opponent's vision and senses. While utilizing this technique, Raizen' has shown that attacks will phase right through him as if his body was an illusion yet he can still receive the intended injury. He is able to use this technique to protect others that are in a close proximity to him or flee a battle when injured.The smoke-like vapors produced by this technique has a debilitating effect on those that Raizen' does not consider his ally. 'Enemies' caught in the wispy smoke will begin feeling a tranquil effect on their body, effectively causing their bodily functions to begin slowing momentarily. This can only be used in short burst,and his Raizens signature move.

Raizen is willing to do drastic things to avenge and defend those dear to him, even if it means doing something that will cost him his life. Additionally, Raizen believes that all people should be loyal to their friends, and if Raizen sees anyone betraying their own comrades, he would stand up for the victims even if they are enemies. He is passionate when it comes to his beliefs, going to great lengths to uphold them. Due to the fact he is the kind of person greatly devoted to love and friendship, Raizens love can be transformed into hatred in the blink of an eye if he somehow lost those closest to them. The despair of the experience causes a manifestation of Darkness Chi, impacting the optic nerves, and darkening the sclera. This causes Rihan to delve into darkness that utterly consumes him, causing Rihan to do anything and everything in his power to achieve his goals and show his own superiority, regardless of the consequences and repercussions of his actions.Rihan can give up that hatred if someone close to him can reach him, though this is incredibly difficult as the Rihan becomes largely unreasonable and unflinching in his singular desire.

Raizen also has a very loving and caring side to his personality and though he may not seem like it, he is a man of his word and honor, keeping his promises even when someone he's made a promise to is no longer there to hold him to it.He is also more perceptive than he seems, and often tells people what they need to hear instead of what they want.He is always at odds with his arguably intimidating reputation,but always remains a calm and charismatic individual, with a knack for bringing out the best in people. His apparent selflessness often inspires others to side with him as a result. Raizen also shows respect for things that another person is willing to die for, be it a treasure or a secret, to the point of even fighting to protect that which the person would throw their lives away over.
Raizen is a calm and calculating man, unconventional and a warrior; who firmly believes that one man can change the world, whether it be from the shadows or through public action. Raizen is very adept at putting forth his own views and getting others to identify with his point of view, often with the result of them warming to his ideals; usually adopting them as their own in due course. Not only is he a natural orator who can sway others with his words, his eyes have been noted to have a similar quality, with a mere gaze he could inspire feelings of courage and hope, making others see things from his perspective"; showcasing his impressive charisma and inspiring air even without the use of words. He seems to be well aware of these traits though, and is more than willing to label himself as the catalyst and foundation stone. He is a man who doesn't believe in conformity
He holds the view that "when all think alike, then no one is thinking". His lack of conformity to anything is ultimately seen in his sense of dress and actions, as he rarely agrees with the collective whole; usually being the one to offer a different method of doing things or an additional point to a discussion. This attitude, as well as his past rebellious streak, made him a subject of much monitoring within the Yokai underground, as well as a rallying point for others with similar ideals. Most officials believe he is a dangerous man and a potentially dangerous future element should he ever turn his impressive charisma and intelligence into politics.
To sum it up Raizen is a carefree man in a state of peace, but he can be aggressive and protective when those that he cares for are in danger. He's is 'cool' type of guy that can make friends with anyone if not everyone, and, if not friendship, at least respect. From the moment you make his acquaintance... the entire time he will test you. He will throw the entirety of himself at you ,and beat you. Then...he will acknowledge you,and you will have lost to him completely.

[Nurarihyon Legend]
Raizen is what is known as a Yōkai Demon (妖怪, Yōkai; Literally meaning "Ghost, Phantom, Strange apparition") is a term used for wide variety of supernatural creatures from Japanese folklore. It seems that Raizen is also classified as a water demon . According to his father the Nurarihyon started out as the demonization of a large jellyfish by a Lunar Goddess, and is also sometimes believed to be descended from the Umibōzu of Okayama Prefecture. The original Nurarihyon is usually depicted as an elderly man wearing the clothes of a Buddhist monk, and is described as the sort of demon that always manages to elude one's grasp. Nurarihyon are described as demons that can alter a persons perception of reality, also having control over dreams. The Nurarihyon will sneak into someone's house while they are away, drink their tea, and act as if it is their own house. Because it looks human, anyone who sees him will mistake him for the owner of the house, making it very hard to expel him. The Nurarihyon are, essentially, very stealthy demon who use their control over an enemy's senses to defeat or evade them. They are also said to have enough charisma to lead The Hyakki Yagyō, ("Night Parade of One Hundred Demons")
Legend has it that "every year the yokai Nurarihyon, will lead all of the yōkai through the streets of Japan during summer nights." Anyone who comes across the procession would perish or be spirited away by the youkai, unless protected by handwritten scrolls by anti-yokai onmyoji spellcasters. It is said that only an onmyoji clan head is strong enough to pass Nurarihyon's Hyakki Yagyo unharmed.

From nowhere Raizen appeared as a simple hermit who travelled from place to place with no set agenda during the Sengoku Era and eventually gained some fame in the Kantō area. He spends almost every waking minute attempting to bring absolute honor and strength to his clan's name. His skills are notable,and he is widely considered one of the most powerful Yōkai swordsman of his time, and thus is both admired and feared by beings of all walks of life. There were very few that would even think of assaulting Raizen, moreover, even less would try it. In a world where bloodlines are a huge factor of power, Raizen is a man that earned his influence through forming bonds with people.
[Nurarihyon and the Tsuki Onmyoji]
It should be noted that unlike most Yokai Raizen is not evil or malicious. Though it's said that he plays pranks on humans, he doesn't really hate them - rather, he doesn't believe humans should interfere in yōkai affairs. Due to his power and nature Rihan has frequently been seen bypassing strong demonic barriers and making himself at home in Onmyoji Clan houses. While he is usually shoo'd,or outright driven away he has become friends with a few Onmyoji. The most notable of these individuals being Aster Tsukikage, who he grew an unbreakable friendship with despite their conflicting backgrounds and ideologies.

Fighting Style:
Kyōka Suigetsu-hō Hikarakuyō (Law of Kyōka Suigetsu: Falling Blossoms and Scattering Leaves): A style known for it's relaxed elegant and smooth techniques. The main tactic for the style is not to meet an opponent with full strength but to flow around them like a sakura petal dancing in the wind,and to flow like water. The style is mainly a battojutsu style keeping the sword sheathed for the start of the fight before drawing the blade at lightning speed landing a series of attacks to finish the fight before re-sheathing the blade, though it is common to see Raizen to flow around attacks and strike with the sheathed sword. Rather than utilizing singular hits to create an enormous amount of damage, the Raizen concentrates his efforts in the build up of damage over an extensive period of time. Therefore, he is able to cause his opponent's stamina to be winded down significantly, while also causing them to be in severe pain from the constant slashes that are placed upon them. To utilize this style Raizen must empty his mind,and be formless,shapeless like water. If you put water into a cup,it becomes the cup.You put water in a bottle and it becomes the bottle. That water can flow,or it can crash. To be like water one must be able to function in any scenario they are thrown into and, react accordingly. Rihan should now when to speed up or slow down,when to expand and when to contract,when to remain flowing and when to crash. It is the awareness that both life and battle can be shapeless and ever changing that allows one to be able to adapt to those changes instantaneously and bring forth the appropriate solution. To utilize this style Rihan must become unpredictable, and strike from his subconscious mind. His moves flow out of his individual essence. Even the most masterful opponent will fall from a strike that has no history or reference. Since his principal weapons are swords, Rihan has spent his entire life perfecting the art of swordplay to the point that he is able to fight against any master, and any other who would dare cross blades with him.
Amakakeru Ryū no Hirameki (天翔龍閃, 天翔龍の閃 or 天翔龍之閃; Flash of the Heavenly Flying Dragon):Raizen mainly relies on swordplay as his primary method of offense this is his signature Iaido sword style. With his strength Raizen can unleashes slashes, that result in a powerful blades of pressure that appears as faint ripples of wind at his foe at high speeds; this attack enables Rihan to assault things which are out of his sword's range, sending slashes which fly through the air itself. These blades of wind possess incredible range and devastating power; and Raizen has mastered this ability to the point that it can cut through most barriers. In close combat the immense force of the enhanced slash cuts the air in front of it and creates a powerful vacuum in its wake as the deflected air rushes back into place. Any opponent to deflect or dodge the first swing will have a high chance of being subjected to this vacuum and be inexorably pulled closer to Raizen. Even a missed swing naturally leads Raizen into an accelerated spin. This in addition to the pulling force of the vacuum on both side results in a second strike that greatly dwarfs the first in power. This is best explained to the following indium: "Even if you avoid the fangs of the flying dragon the gusting winds strip away freedom of movement and the claws would rip you apart".

↔ Madō Zekken ("Demon Kings Perfect Sword"): It has has the inscription Muramasa written on its sheath, and it's blade is stained black. The daito katana is imbued with a vengeance powerful enough to shatter steel,and has the legendary status of Meito Kokutō (Famous Black Sword) A meito is sometimes associated with the warrior who wields it and becomes part of his identity. Regardless of who owns them, a meito is regarded with highest respect in Japan and to be wielding a meito is to carry a great honor alongside it.
Madō Zekken is designed to tremendously increase the damage potential and destructive power of the user. While it is capable of dealing heavy blows and is extremely hard, Madō Zekken seems to be somewhat sentient as Raizen constantly comments about its feelings. The blade is used by Raizen for two different reasons. The first the ability absorb the powers and abilities of any material, substance, or form of energy it destroys, making itself more powerful. The second is access to the one of his ancestors signature technique.

↔ Murakumo Tentōken (Gathering Clouds of Heaven Sword of Paradise"): It takes the form of a straight single edged shirasaya katana. As such the sheath and handle lack decoration and a tsubas. Both the handle and scabbard are a light tan, which gives the entire sword the appearance of an ordinary walking stick.

1↔ Osore (Fear):The general concept of the "fear" revolves around being feared and respected by others. It is said to be an advanced form of Mirage Chi. Raizen can naturally evoke and increase fear and horror in others causing the target’s brain to release fear-inducing chemicals and over load the senses or cause nightmares while they sleep. The victim’s perception may be altered, causing them see their environment as ominous and the user as dark and foreboding, or even seen as a monster. This also includes the ability to control one's own killing intention and use it to intimidate the victims or feeding off the fear of other to strengthen the user.The user can give off their pure killing intent, affecting the opponents, themselves, and others around the vicinity. Particularly strong killing intent can paralyze the victim in fear, causing them to morbidly hallucinate their own deaths, or even kill them by forcing the mind to believe the death is reality
By using this power the Raizen can make it difficult for an opponent to locate and, by extension attack him in battle.With Osore Raizen can command detailed illusions,yet this power is focused for defense and intimidation purposes only. It could be from simple illusions, such as Thought Projection, all the way to extremely complex illusions which momentarily remove one's very existence from the real world.
2↔ Kehai Hatsu (Presence Manifestation):The physical manifestation of Raizen's will power and killing intent projected outward or given shape. In This can be seen as his power slowly manifests around the him as an aura which then expands and molds in a any shape he chooses. Since it is formed through the materialization of Raizen's will, he is able to freely move around within the manifestations body as well as levitate inside of it,and can also leave its body entirely while maintaining it. While the materialization acts as a strong defense against external attacks, anything coming out of its body will simply pass through it.
3↔ Tenebrous Flame (Flame of Darkness):It has the distinct appearance of a heavy, inky darkness. Its main function is to connect different areas through portals for a quick escape,and over all focused on defensive combat. This technique's effect acts as an attractive force, both visibly drawing the target inwards and distorting their form until they disappear, although physical contact is required to absorb a target. After absorbing targets through this process,Raizen is able to eject them at any time of his choosing, demonstrating the ability to eject objects with varying degrees of force. This attack can only defend and redirect things through the portals as if they were a gateway between two locations.
4↔Tenebrous Teleportation: in which Rihan places a special seal to mark an intended destination. After this is done, he can instantaneously transports himself,or something he's touching to the location of the seal. The mark can be applied to almost any area through brief physical contact, including an opponent or other surrounding feature. The marking never disappears from a marked target until it is used.

2↔ Makkuragan (Eye of Total Darkness):Makkuragan is the rare power of the Kurayami clan. When invoked Raizen's amber eyes glow and his sclera darken he then shrouds an area in Darkness Chi. The shroud absorbs all light. It is a very powerful technique used by him to disorient his enemies easily. With the help of his Darkness Chi, she can shroud an area in complete blackness and, by extension, greatly reduce visibility for those affected. Since he has no difficulty seeing in complete darkness Raizen able to take advantage of that strength.
3↔Makkuragan Shin Kyōka Suigetsu ( True Mirror Flower- Water Moon) This Osore technique envelops Raizen' in a wispy smoke-like darkness Chi that clouds him from his opponent's vision and senses. While utilizing this technique, Raizen' has shown that attacks will phase right through him as if his body was an illusion yet he can still receive the intended injury. He is able to use this technique to protect others that are in a close proximity to him or flee a battle when injured.The smoke-like vapors produced by this technique has a debilitating effect on those that Raizen' does not consider his ally. 'Enemies' caught in the wispy smoke will begin feeling a tranquil effect on their body, effectively causing their bodily functions to begin slowing momentarily. This can only be used in short burst,and his Raizens signature move.

㊬Weakness↔ Raizen is very loyal to his subordinates and other friends, and can lose his temper quickly if they are harmed in any way. Raizen is willing to do drastic things to avenge and defend those dear to him, even if it means doing something that will cost him his life. Additionally, Raizen believes that all people should be loyal to their friends, and if Raizen sees anyone betraying their own comrades, he would stand up for the victims even if they are enemies. He is passionate when it comes to his beliefs, going to great lengths to uphold them. Due to the fact he is the kind of person greatly devoted to love and friendship, Raizens love can be transformed into hatred in the blink of an eye if he somehow lost those closest to them. The despair of the experience causes a manifestation of Darkness Chi, impacting the optic nerves, and darkening the sclera. This causes Rihan to delve into darkness that utterly consumes him, causing Rihan to do anything and everything in his power to achieve his goals and show his own superiority, regardless of the consequences and repercussions of his actions.Rihan can give up that hatred if someone close to him can reach him, though this is incredibly difficult as the Rihan becomes largely unreasonable and unflinching in his singular desire.
