The sky above was not welcoming in the slightest. The sun was hidden from view, it's warmth chased away by the winds that whipped around. The clouds above were grey and steadily the grew darker and darker. A rumble of thunder rolled across the heavens serving as a herald for the upcoming storm. Such conditions made it that much more important to a certain Ulaya in finding a permanent shelter. She'd spent some time away from these lands carving her path in life and finding herself. Why she came back was beyond her. Perhaps it was the old familiarity that she longed for. She had no definite answer, but one thing was certain. She had been incapable of staying away any longer. She'd searched high and low for suitable shelter in the vast open plains but none proved worthy. She needed someplace she could feel safe when she laid her head down to rest and being a Ulaya of her color made that rather difficult. She had no means of camouflage and her scent drew in unwanted attention without fail each and every time. She was sure that she'd only managed to survive the advances of unfriendly males because they underestimated just how volatile she could be. A bright flash rendered her momentarily blind before the heavens above opened and released their torrent of rain. With haste she ran towards the jungle a few miles ahead. While she knew she would be completely dry in their, the canopy would provide ample cover. By she entered it's shelter she was soaked to the bone. Śakkara released an annoyed but soft growl before shaking herself as best as she could to relinquish her form of most of the rain she'd managed to collect on her way in. Once that was done, emerald pools immediately began surveying her surroundings. The foliage was lush and there were many placed she could hide at night which could prove useful in breaking up the hue of her pelt.Though if it could hide her, it could also hide something more dangerous and stronger than she. She continued on in her quest but every step she made was one filled with caution. Her ears twitched and turned with every audible sound and her eyes roved around make sure that her path was safe. She'd be a fool not to stay alert.

Callum sat perched in one of the trees that clustered together creating the land he claimed as his own, he watched as the dark clouds grew thick and the thunder shook the earth, his long tail dangled below him as he smirked. There was nothing better than a violent storm about to rattle the earth and lives of those caught in it.
Speaking of those caught in it, he watched as a deeply purple hued female came racing towards him, "Dont come here...dont come here...annd you came here." He muttered to himself with a deep breath, why did this seem to keep happening to him?
His crimson gaze flashed brightly as lightening lit up the sky, his tail flicked as he watched her below him, the dark sky and the heavy canopy of the jungle kept him well hidden in the shadows and darkness, he rose to his paws and stared down at her, only his eyes visible in the dark.

Her every move was calculated and alert. Her nose wiggled as she scented the air and almost immediately her hackles rose and her muscles tensed. Musk was laced on just about everything here and while the scent wasn't displeasing to her senses, it did nothing but put her on edge. She had no idea what sort of male owned this neck of the jungle and so until she was proven other wise, she was not safe here. She could easily turn around and go back the way she came but she wasn't about to just give up on her quest to find a suitable home. So she pressed on, moving deeper and deeper into the jungle.
The further in she went, the more the musk dissipated into nothingness until he was no longer present. However this did nothing to steel her nerves. She couldn't help shake the feeling that she was being watched. She'd felt it earlier and simply brushed it off in attempts to ignore it. The fact that the feeling continued made it that much harder to continue brushing it off. She had someones attention but not knowing who and where that someone was bothered her. She had looked everywhere up onto this point and had seen nothing. Wait....there was one place she hadn't looked. Slowly her emerald hues peered up to survey the branches above and she swore she caught a glimpse of something red before it faded from her sight. Where her eyes playing tricks on her?

He followed her with ease, moving from one tree to another if he must, the deeper she went into the labyrinth of his domain, the more he wanted to groan.
He was going to have to show her the way out for sure now, no one else was ever able to get out without his aid, well...his sister could do it but she preferred the forest to the jungle, he had to admit, her domain held more shadows and that only added in her being a better hunter than he was.
He watched her pause and look up, right at him, he only blinked for a moment before he knew she was already starting to doubt her own eyes, he grinned. His jungle enjoy playing tricks on those who entered, but as thunder crashed over head and lightening clawed against the inky hued sky, he only wanted to escourt her out and enjoy the storm.
He jumped down behind her, his voice was deep and rumbled in his chest like the thunder that vibrated the earth. "Lost?"

In and instant her instinct screamed for her to move and she did so just as the males paws made contact with the ground. The muscles beneath her pelt were taught and ready to spring into action if she needed to, her claws unsheathed and digging into the soil. She had no problems with fighting if she needed to but she silently prayed it wouldn't come down to that. He spoke and damned if her knees didn't almost buckle. If she wasn't on the defensive, they likely would have. He had a voice that would make any female swoon and readily throw themselves at him. However, she wasn't like the average female. She'd appreciate his appealing features in silence but remain guarded. Still she'd not be rude as he'd not done anything to warrant it aside from startle her but that was her own fault for not being more aware of her surroundings.
Her voice held a light rasp to it mingled with a sultry tone. One would think she were attempting to seduce him if they didn't know any better but they were off by a long shot. I simply was how she spoke. "Not exactly...simply passing through." She caught a whiff of his scent and quickly put two and two together. "I'm assuming you are the claimer of this jungle."

Her lyrical voice would have swooned a lesser male, but Callum was not impressed by pretty vocals, or the batting of lashes, his ears flicked back as he tried not to snort.
"Never assume anything." He replied but as he continued to watch her closely, carefully, he shifted to be closer to the tree he had appeared from, and with the back of his massive paw, he stroked the rough bark. "Though she and I have a very deep understanding of one another...She is my home yes."
His tail swayed out behind him, fluffier than he'd like it to be, but he had little control over that, but the darkness of his being helped him move like a ghost through the lands he called home.

She watched his show of....affection towards the tree and couldn't help but feel a sense of familiarity to it. He spoke of the jungle as if it were a sentient being...much like a female she'd met years ago. Well at least it was nice to see that there were still Ulaya out there who held appreciation for the lands they called home. Could the two perhaps be related?
"I see. It was not my intent to intrude. I am simply trying to find suitable shelter. If you do not wish me here, I will move along."
The tension in the air was thick. While things were going fairly smooth, she couldn't on it continuing to be that way. She could feel mild annoyance radiating off of his form in waves. She'd only heard stories of his kind of Ulaya. They were territorial, loners and not the kind to be trifled with. One had to tread carefully while in their presence.

"Why run from the storm?" His head cocked to the side, his gaze bore into her, the lightening only making his crimson eyes flash like fire.
"Though, you keep wandering deeper and deeper into this jungle and you'll become lost..The paths never stay the same." He said with a smirk and a deep chuckle.
"Only a few have ever managed to find their way out of here without some aid." He wiggled his claws into the damp earth, releasing the musky, earthy scent.

"It's not the storm I am running from....well I did but that wasn't the only reason I came here. I'm in need of a home, at least one of mine own." She allowed herself to relax if just a bit and straightened her posture as she did so. Her own gaze bore into him, taking in his form and those mesmerizing rubies he called eyes. She had a feeling he was sizing her up and she couldn't rightly blame him. She was on his turf after all and if the roles were reversed, she would be doing the same to him.
"I ventured deeper and deeper because of you so to speak. Your scent was latent on every tree, bush and stone. The further I went the more your scent began to fade. I was hoping that if I ventured far enough I'd come across land you'd yet to call your own. I can deal with living on if not near the borders of anothers territory so long as I'm not stepping on anyone's paws." She smiled lightly at his words of paths shifting but she was confident in her skills of navigation. She had some tricks to her after all...tricks that she learned from another Ulaya's wisdom.
"You speak nothing but truth...but as different as the paths may appear, their message is just the same. So long as you listen, she will always guide you to where it is you need to go." Śakkara was rather confident that he knew what she had meant when saying the word "she". He was in tune with his home after all.

"Ah yes, my musk is heavier along the edges so that no one dares to try and enter without knowing full well another dwells within, a risk they are forced to face in the very start." A loud crash of thunder echoed over head, he only seemed to smile at the thunderous call.
"I allow plenty of others to dwell within these lands, she and I enjoy a good game of it." He chuckled darkly. "But, if they violate the land, or begin to abuse the privilege of living here....I either quickly have them running for their lives..or take their lives." He warned.
Callum did whatever he deemed necessary to protect his home, it was more than a home, a safe haven for him and it was hard to explain to another, this land, this jungle was like a lover, an old friend..He was bound to the land, as the land was bound to the sky.

She offered him an understanding nod as well as a smile. "Then I ask you, being that you serve as guardian of this jungle, for permission to call this place home as well. I will not dare to impose my presence so freely." She continued to listen to him as he spoke and observe the way he moved. The more she observed him, the more she realized just how much he reminded her of her friend.
"You wouldn't by chance know of anyone named Belladonna would you or be related to someone of that name?"
