The intention behind this roleplay is to open up the breeding of Hippogryphs and Merponies. This is not intended as a "tragic" love story, and these two characters are to be roleplayed as a couple. To further encourage this, the winning pair will also earn a free breeding for this couple to be cashed in at any point in time where slots are opened (of course the normal breeding rules still apply and this does not include custom children fees).

The responses to the prompts can either be in-character roleplay or an out of character answer. Out of character answers need to be thorough. (No one word/single sentence answers)
While we prefer this to be a paired event, you can enter this solo. However, you can only keep one of the ponies and the other must be given away.

How did they break the news to their family members? What was the reaction? Were they angry, excited or just happy that these lovebirds found each other?
Capricia, who had been enjoying a leisurely flight through the valleys, suddenly rolled in mid-air to avoid the shrieking projectile which had nearly flown directly into her from above. It was Strawberry Galah, and she looked very angry. “Pardon? Did you say something while you were attempting murder on the high breeze?”
Strawberry Galah wheeled back up from where she’d overshot Capricia, possibly having actually tried to kill her. “Yes I did! You-“ she drew the word out accusingly, poking Capricia in the chest until Capricia swatted her hoof away “- told the other hippogryphs that I was dating!”
Capricia paused and recalled; “Yeah, I mentioned to Magina.” She frowned. “Is it wrong for you to be dating? I thought you were a grown person; you can date!”
”The problem is you told her who I was dating!” Strawberry Galah looked like she was about to start pulling out her strawberries-and-cream hair, which Capricia thought would be a pity. “You told her I was dating Waterbow!”
”Ohhh,” said Capricia, finally understanding what the issue was. Then she drew herself up with superiority and looked down her white nose at Strawberry Galah. “Maybe if you didn’t want everyone to be angry at you, you shouldn’t be dating a mermaid.”
Strawberry Galah seemed to swell, her feathers pricking up along her skin. “He is a merpony, not a mermaid!”
”Really,” responded Capricia uninterestedly. “I see he doesn’t share your concern for the situation you find yourselves in. He hasn’t come to attack me with you. He’s probably not all that interested in you if he let you come alone.”
Strawberry Galah set a sour glare at Capricia. “He can’t fly,” she replied flatly. “He’s a merpony.”
Capricia threw her hooves up in exasperation. “There. There is your problem! What do you see in a pony who can’t fly? You can’t swim with him! Your feathers would get soggy and smelly! Honestly,” she said, moving closer to Strawberry Galah, “haven’t you ever seen that movie where the girl says
A bird may love a fish, but where would they live??”
Strawberry Galah smiled shyly and her pink cheeks reddened. “We actually saw that when we met. They have film nights in the mountain caves, the projector is better in the darkest caves and there’s a lagoon with glowing moss and he turned up and I was there…” She trailed off. Capricia had her uninterested look back in her face. It was silly for Strawberry Galah to try and use romance as a reason for love in front of a fallen cupid. “They end up together in the end!”
”Not the bird and the fish,” corrected Capricia. “The prince and the girl get married. There is no Leonardo da Ninja Turtle here to make Waterbow wings.” She stopped for a moment. “I didn’t realise you had a forbidden love. I’m sorry it came out because of me. But it was not my fault your love is forbidden,” she continued steadfastly, “and awkward. You should have told your people, not waited for it to come out. What do his people think about it?”
Strawberry Galah’s eyes spilled over with tears listening to Capricia’s apology and the hard truths in her explanation. “Um,” she said with a thick voice, “Well Starsea is in love with an earth pony, so she can’t really talk, she just frowns, and Selphie wasn’t even around when… when what happened… happened..”
”I don’t even know,” said Capricia gently. “Do you think it’s time people stopped and forgave some people?” Strawberry Galah nodded. “Then go and convince everyone that it’s no big deal!”
Strawberry Galah’s face shone with joy and hope. “And you’ll come with me!” She grabbed Capricia’s hoof.
Capricia jerked her hoof away and shook her head in disgust. “No way! Leave me out of this romance business.” Shee pointed at Strawberry Galah. “You take care of this mess.” Then she sped away.

”Are you sure this is a good idea?” Waterbow asked Strawberry Galah. He glanced at a stony-faced Starsea, sitting near him in a lagoon under the mountain used as a residential apartment building by many varieties of flying ponies in their area. Orcasong was there, enjoying the psychodrama, and so was Selphie and her water dragon.
”I think it’s best we all have a meeting and then we can go from there,” confirmed Strawberry Galah. “They should be here soon…” Sure enough, it was only a few more minutes until Magina, Bruny, and Duchess arrived. They were all fluttering their feathers and looking very uncomfortable and defensive.
“I am going to get right down to it,” pronounced Strawberry Galah with determination. “Waterbow and I are in love and we’re dating and I think everyone should be fine with that because we are not hurting anyone and when we go out on dates we don’t kidnap anyone or start fires or film each other saying YOLO and doing stupid things.”
Duchess stepped forward and cleared her throat. “I don’t want this to turn into a terrible feud,” she said. “I don’t have any problem, otherwise. As long as you’re sensible. Though,” she added, “you should have told us before now.”
”I honestly don’t know what to say,” said Magina quietly. “But I’m overruled, so do whoever you want.”
Bruny shoved Magina’s shoulder and frowned. “Don’t be crass. “ He spoke to the inhabitants of the pool. “If they don’t have a problem with it, nor do I.”
”I think,” began Starsea, “that some wounds don’t heal, but if you don’t have any, just don’t make it worse for the rest of us.”
”We don’t have an opinion,” said Selphie in her high, melodious voice. “I came because I heard there were snacks.”
”I’m glad everyone has been sensible,” said Waterbow.
”If a bit anticlimactic,” muttered Strawberry Galah. “But,” she turned and gazed lovingly into Waterbow’s eyes, “now we can be together and no-one can get in our way.”
Waterbow smiled at her and they held their positions until Selphie fidgeted in the water and strawberry galah uncovered the peach pastries she had made, having hidden them in case there was a fight and food was a handy weapon. They all ate the pastries and they all went away happy. Waterbow and Strawberry Galah were the happiest of all, and they enjoyed it while it lasted. The next day began their most terrifying ordeal yet; house hunting for a place with balcony access for Strawberry Galah and a lagoon entrance for Waterbow. They never said love was easy…

Prompt Choice - First one Response: When they were younger, they used to play. One day, Orion's parents decided to move. The friendship lasted between Orion and Cupid, but at the time they didn't have their cutie-marks. Neither told the other either as it never came up in letters. Years of traveling, he found out that home was back where he grew up, near Cupid. Their mothers hit it off as if they had never left, and decided that it was mother matching making time, with the help of one Cupid.
They talked to Cupid, pointing out the merpony that needed to find some love in his life. It seemed to be her specialty was being a match-maker herself. She flew all over the place pairing ponies up of all shapes and sizes and species. She can pair a Demon with a Pegasus and make it work with some persuasion, a little magic, and simple compatibility. She's been working since she was a foal and is very talented at her craft. Only recently... She'd found herself a bit of a problem. There was one stallion, who, try as she may, simply couldn't be bothered to fall in love with any mare who she tried to pair him up with.
Orion couldn't fall in love with any of the mares that she tried to set him up with. She went through merponies, land-walkers, and even tried to pair him up with an easy-going flutter on one occasion! Now little did she know, Orion had a small talent of knowing who should be with who also. He just had a different way about it. So each mare she brought to him, he sent off to where her heart was meant to be.
No matter what she tried, he wasn't going for it and finally, the mare was starting to get worn out. She had looked all over for this stallion, but he didn't seem to take interest in any of the mares she'd brought to him. Finally, she confronted him about it fully and asked him what he would like in a mare, when he replied with only two words. "You, Cupid."
She was considerably flustered, but then she realized that while she had been looking for mares for him, that she had begun to hope that she would never find him a match, for she had fallen for the stallion as well. The two became a couple and together, paired up as the two best matchmakers in the land.
