Chrystal Hunter was out patrolling the border of his family's land. There hadn't been any trouble with any of the ponies in the valley lately but the family never relaxed their guard. Not when there were Drows in the same valley as them. Chrystal Hunter wasn't one of the big hitters in the family but that was okay. He could still fight and he was pretty important to the family. He could find the crystals and gems they used and when none could be found he could grow them.

Reaching the tree line that was at the southern edge of the border, he paused to look around. He didn't see anything or anyone but that didn't mean much in this murky land. He stayed for a moment longer under the pretense of looking around for crystals and gems. Deeming the area safe for the moment he began to head towards the west.

Chrystal Hunter paused for a moment sensing something. Perhaps if he had the ability to actually sense crystals he would have known what it was. As it was when he looked back there was nothing different from the few minutes earlier. He stared for a moment longer and the shifted his wings in a shrug like gesture.

Continuing on, Chrystal kept a sharp eye out. Maybe what he sensed was danger or someone or something out there. He thought about that for a few minutes as he walked. If someone or something was out there they were hiding themselves really well. If it was danger.... well he didn't sense it anymore so it must have passed.

((Ha ha. I was going to say I may need to bring someone else in from the family to run into Xavier. XP ))

Chrystal Hunter had stopped some ways into his walk towards the western area of the territory. He had that strange moment of sensing something again. He looked around but his senses told him it was in the direction he had come from. Since he had sensed it twice it wasn't something he could ignore. Turning around he headed back the way he had came. He would head in the direction he had sensed the 'disturbance' and see what was going on.

Krysta-Lyn was also out patrolling. She was covering most of the area Chrystal Hunter wasn't which included the river. She was just fortunate enough to be passing by moments after Xavier had crossed. So the crystal stepping stones were still in the water. She regarded them for a moment with narrowed eyes.

Determining that the crystals were not made from someone in the family she knew she had to track down the intruder. They would either be killed on the spot or brought into the folds of the family if deemed useful enough. She grabbed her favorite black crystal and grinned. The hunt was on! The crystal morphed into an axe and she quickly crossed the river.

She would track this intruder to the ends of the earth if she needed! However she didn't need to. She managed to quietly track his trail and caught up to him as he put a head into a bag. She slipped into shadows ready to pounce when the moment was right. She waited for him to pass and stalked him on his way back. She held off in the trees when he dove into the river to clean off. The moment would be right when she got to the other side....

Chrystal Hunter was back where he had first felt the odd feeling and looked around. If he continued this way he'd be in his sister's patrol area and by the river. He shrugged to himself. If he ran into he would tell her what had happened. He continued on and after a while heard a faint splashing sound. The river was close and someone had either just gotten in or out. Definitely not his sister.

He rushed towards the river in time to see black pony with a blue and silver cape get out of the water: a vampire! "HALT!" He yelled getting into a defensive position, "You are trespassing on the Crystal Territory. Disarm yourself and surrender."

((Holy cow long post is long. And feel free to I dunno... not halt and surrender or sense Krysta-Lyn or whatever. XP ))

Chrystal Hunter frowned as the intruder spoke and put his sack down. "Dismembered head?" He repeated staying in his defensive position. It certainly wasn't good that this vampire was killing near or on their territory. "Well you may have no quarrel with us but we have one with you. We don't take kindly to trespassers nor those who shed blood on our ground."

Krysta-Lyn slipped out from the trees when the stranger spoke of being followed. "Indeed you were. Always think that an unknown territory is occupied than empty." She replied before nodding to her brother. She stepped up close to the river and then just stepped across. Crystal stepping stones appeared under her feet until she was safely on the other side. Once there she rested her axe on the ground.

"Hm.. I didn't see much. Only you bagging the head." She said with a grin, "I don't think you're the only one with weapons that are a bit different. Since you killed on our territory we have to take you in. Otherwise we could have just let you off with a warning to stay off." Never mind the whole fact that they needed to determine if the crystals she had seen in the water earlier were made by him. "Now are you going to behave and come with us or are we going to do this the hard way?"

Chrystal Hunter hated when his sister just expected him to provide support. So when she just started to walk on the water he had to quickly grow crystals for her to walk on. He kept an eye on the vampire as she talked.

(( XD That's cause it's her job to do that. She's one of the 'brutes' of the family since she can only create weapons with her talent instead of the others that can summon creatures. ))

((That's cool. I try to leave my attacks open to dodging but if you feel it's too closed off let me know and I can change it or you can just say he dodged it but was close or something))

"Oh there's no impasse. You are coming with us. You just don't know it yet." Krysta-Lyn grinned, "Maybe afterwards you can go off and finish this job of yours... or maybe not. Not my concern." Her eyes narrowed as he continued on stating that he'd tell them everything if they caught him.

Suddenly he darted off and she scoffed. Look like they were doing this the hard way. She picked up her axe and raced after him. When she came up to the crystal barrier she smashed it with the axe. Both the barrier and her axe broke into tiny pieces. "Ggggrrrrr that was my favorite axe." She growled. She was then running after him. "Chrystal Hunter... give me another!"

Chrystal Hunter was silent while his sister had the exchange with the stranger. After all she held a higher rank in the family than he did. When the stranger bolted he followed after his sister.

After she destroyed the barrier and her axe he ran up to her. As the ran he began to create a crystal. It appeared just up ahead of them and behind Xavier. Once his sister scooped it up from the ground he focused on creating a large enough crystal to block the path.

Krysta-Lyn scooped up the crystal that her brother had summoned for her. She focused on it and soon it transformed into many throwing knives that were made of crystal. She continued to race after Xavier and as she came into range threw a few of the knives.

Skidding to a stop at the lake shore she cursed. Now they would lose time since Chrystal Hunter had to make stepping stones for them. If only their other siblings were here! Once the first steps appeared she began to cross. Again she threw some knives hoping to hit the running pony or slow him down.

Chrystal Hunter continued on behind his sister. Once they reached the lake he created stepping stones for them to continue their pursuit. He also summoned more crystals for his sister as she would soon be out of knives. "Watch it Krysta-Lyn. He's a tricky one!" He then summoned a giant crystal before Xavier hoping to make him crash into it or slow down to veer around it.
