Happily enamored with the cat, she forgot herself and hadn't offered to help. Even now it hadn't dawned on her yet, still blissfully playing and humming. That was until he spoke, of course then her full attention was back on Raken. With her hand stilled, she watched him and listened to his response. Smiling, her hand went to scratching the cat behind the ear. The translation in her head followed that the cat wouldn't exactly 'cease to exist' but would come back in a sense when he re-summoned it.

Gratefully, she took the plate and thanked him, "Thank you!" They had made the meal together so there was no way it wasn't amazing. "It was nothing," her response came immediately to being thanked, blushing a little bit at his words. "Today has been a lot of fun, I am so glad you shared it with me!" There was a lot that she had learned, a new home offered to her and a connection with her father established all by Raken. Guardians be praised that she crossed paths with him.

It was strange how he enjoyed being in someone elses company. Perhaps constantly living with his daughter, mate, and his grandchildren the stark change to no pae at all weighed more on him than he previously thought. Maybe living with Menolly next door wouldn't be such a careless idea.

"Well let us share in this meal. I'm eager to taste it." With leftovers to store! He started walking back to the chair he had seated in previously, while letting the shadow cat dissipate. There was no reason to put effort in it when there was nothing for it to do. The shadows it was created from snapped back into their original location.

"If we cook again together, we should do one of your recipes." Though that might be a vegetarian dish then. He could stomach one of those however, recalling a certain sister in law with that quality.

It was sad when the cat dissipated, her hand still hovering for a few moments before she brought both hands together and spoke, "Thank you Guardians for providing! And thank you Raken!" Guardians deserved praise and got it frequently from her, never enough if one were to ask. It was the extreme kindness of Raken that she had this meal to share.

He brought up an amazing idea that received an enthusiastic response, "That would be fantastic! I have many I grew up with that I cannot wait to share!" There was an awesome one with noodles and sauce or a chicken one. Just the list went flying through her head at rapid pace as she picked up the silverware and placed it in the stew. One thought occurred to her, "I am not sure about having the right equipment." Her voice trailed off concerned about the limitations of that. He had just about everything she'd need but there was no way of telling what would be in the house if there was anything at all.

Trying not to worry it too much, she scooped up a piece of meat and veggies. Placing the meal in her mouth, she closed her eyes a moment just to savor it. The meal was amazing! The rabbit was just right and the vegetables did their job perfectly. Praising his efforts she stated once the bite was finished, "This is wonderful!" It didn't have to be fancy, this alone was perfect.

The angle could really see herself eating like this every night, cooking with Raken made it more special.

He bowed his head in agreement towards the Guardians. Hopefully soon with the grace of the Guardians he'd be able to return to his family, but for now they provided him with a home and food. Guardians be praised.

"Well, we could cook it here. Until your kitchen is properly set up." He didn't think of the implications of what he had said. Surely it would only be a time or two until she obtained proper cookware.

As he settled down into his chair, he scooped up a mouthful to raise to his own lips. "Hmm." A thoughtful chew and swallow. "Good, it was cooked to the right time. Sometimes it can be difficult to judge." Especially when engaged in interesting conversation, time just flew by. "I'm glad you like it. And with the extra rabbit you helped with, I have extra for tomorrow." Which meant more time for studies rather than cooking. Any time where he could save time was a bonus.

Almost dropping her spoon, Menolly looked to Raken and beamed with joy. "Oh thank you! I look forward to cooking in here!" It went without saying that she'd make sure there was enough for him to share as he was being so kind already. His home felt like a home and the idea of cooking was very comfortable.

Agreeing happily she remarked after another full spoonful, "You did an excellent job!" She'd cooked all manner of things that her father brought home and then whatever was served during the days she helped with the kitchens on the isle. While considering herself to be a decent cook, it felt a fair judge to say Raken did an excellent job. It wasn't fancy but fancy wasn't needed in the least. That improved the dish in her book.

Eating a good half of her meal before speaking again, Menolly added, "That is great! Leftovers are always welcome. It is nice to be able to properly store here." It was what she remembered of the HQ but something lacking once the that was gone. Here in the City the benefit was back. No wasting food!

He didn't ask, but she shared her plans all the same, "I look forward to moving tomorrow! A new home for borrowed books!" Maybe a furry not food friend to join her. Living on her own was going to be terribly lonely but after he made the offer it wasn't like she could be rude and reject it. It should be okay, right?

He smiled back to her joy, completely unaware of just what he had signed up for. "Thank you. It's not extravagant, but that's how I like my life." Simple, useful, minimalistic.

He was more than content with the silence as they dug down into their dishes, the food quickly easing his hungry stomach. It certainly hit the spot.

At the mention of moving tomorrow, he blinked up from his mostly finished meal. "Tomorrow? You'd be ready to move so quickly?" He knew she didn't have much to her name, but she'd still be saying goodbye to the people who took her in very quickly.

His home might benefit from a light lady's touch, overall everything shouted simple comfort. Things didn't have to be overly this or that, there was a sense of strength and warmth that came from just enough. "It is perfect, everything with a use. It really is relaxing and refreshing." With the chaos of the City always going this way and that, this was a refuge where one's mind could just calm down. That also could just be the effect of the owner of the home.

Finishing her own bowl, she answered him without concern, "I don't have a lot and the generous offer to let me stay was supposed to be temporary." She was an outsider living with a family not her own. While extremely kind, it was really beyond time to give them back their space. "I'll miss having them around, they've started going their own ways but excellent company. Hopefully they'll visit." She couldn't say it out loud but she'd miss having someone near by terribly.

It was time, the family hadn't expected her to stay as long as she had. To distract herself, she picked up her completely empty bowl and walked herself over to his sink to begin cleaning her dish. Doing something worked, being around Raken comforted, the real challenge was tomorrow night. Maybe he'd let her stay with him and read together in the evening for a bit after dinner, delay the inevitable.

Finally someone who agreed with him. Azure wanted to leave the cave for the city, for reasons he didn't understand. The city had it's perks, but it lacked so much freedom. With all of his access to books, to plumbing and a trade center nearby, he'd give it all up to go back home. But he was doing this for his family. It was safest for everyone if he stayed up here.

Unless...unless he made somewhere safe.

He shelfed that idea for now. "Well...then I'll drop by tomorrow with a housewarming present." What ever that would be he had no idea, but he figured it only right. He didn't really have neighbors before. Taking the last few bites of food, he followed after her to clean his dish. "You probably would want to head out then to tell them, and secure the house key with...whoever runs these houses..." After waking up in the medical bay, some one had dropped off a key for him. So he wasn't entirely sure how it worked.

She didn't give him much warning, as soon as he as he agreed to stop by and see her he was getting hugged. There was no two ways about it. With a low exaggerated e sound as she threw her arms under his for a hug, "That would be wonderful, I can't wait to have you over!" There wasn't likely to be much there for him to see, but all the same it would be great to see him.

Already the worry about being alone lurked at the edge of her mind like wolves stalking the edges of a camp fire. That made her already anxious to have someone close and Raken offered hope of just that the following day.

"I will!" That would require letting him go and leaving which she would, absolutely would. Just a minute more.

He was slightly more prepared this time for her random hug attack. As she threw herself upon him, he wrapped his arms around her to return the squeeze. This was Kurts daughter after all, he had to be kind towards her.

Else the alpaca tamer would somehow find him and hurt him worse than he tried to his brother.

"Good. We'll make it homey for you." He spoke with a light smile. But leaving would require her to let go. And she seemed quite content to stay attached to him.

More than pleased, Menolly just existed in the hug. That feeling of being warm and protected was treasured for all it was worth. Most hugs didn't even make her feel that way, like the world was right when she was in Raken's arms. Knowing she had to let go, knowing she had to be apart just made her hold on a few more breaths.

This meant more to her then he would probably ever know.

With the greatest effort she finally let go of him, though she had to look away. Her expression went from bliss, to something akin to pain or distress. He didn't need to see that as she put a smile back on, "I look forward to!" It would be homey if he was in it, it was other pae that made a house a home.

If she was going to leave it had to be done now. Walking to the door she opened it herself and was prepared to leave, even if she didn't want to.

Tartara Seabreeze
Fear the Alpaca lord! Though if Kurt saw Menolly here, I think he'd shut the door and lock the two in the house, would hurt the poor man's heart.

As the hug lingered far longer than hugs normally would, he noticed the little things. The softness of her skin, the sweet smell of her hair. Quite peculiar thoughts, ones that he had sworn off for quite literally years. When she pulled away, he felt the absence of her warmth.

Despite himself he found his feet walking after her as she started towards the door. "I'll walk you out." It was the polite thing to do. He could've sworn he caught a strange expression on her face when she pulled away. Probably was seeing things.

She felt a little better when he followed her to the door, just a little closer for a little longer. It was something, a little gift or reprieve before she was out on her own. Once outside, she turned on her heel to see him again. "Thank you for dinner, I can't wait to see you tomorrow!" That she really, really meant. If she didn't keep her arms behind her back she would just end up hugging him again.

Holding still for a few moments, she managed to with hold a sigh and keep her self smiling. "Good night!" Slowly she turned and started to walk away dragging her feet figuratively the whole way.

Tartara Seabreeze
Oh raken will really be in trouble when that one starts, once he accepts a level of affection there is no going back heart

Raken nodded with a brief smile, "I appreciated the company. Goodnight, Menolly." The demon stood for a moment, looking at the angel before slowly closing the door.

With her gone, he turned to his now empty house. Strange how it seemed...lonelier now. Even though it was no more empty now than it had been before he left for the market. He sighed heavily. It was puzzling, but not a matter he chose to dwell on. The feeling would pass. For now, he had leftovers he had to put away.

So he set on that, with the golden haired angel on the back of his mind.

Evilsilverdragon
And with that, I call this rp Finished! YAAAY!
