".. Teril." The sleepy murmur was rather easily lost under the commotion of the bar.. Muffled even more by the fact that the youth was face down on his folded arms, lounging on his table as if entirely indifferent to what was going on around him. Dressed in a basic tank and cargo pants he didn't gather much attention, his long auburn braid draped across his back and trailing down to rest on the booth's seat in a absent curl.. that seemed to point out the dull hilt of a dagger poking out of it's sheath on his thigh. He had another in his boot, a knuckler stashed in his left pocket.. anyone from this town knew to pack something on their jaunts through the streets.

A deep, rolling, growl rumbled from his gut and the boy sighed, stretching his arms out to grasp the far edge as he dropped his chin on the table's surface.. his brow twitching as he muttered quietly. " Memet mus teril.. b*****d, making me wait." Alright, so it wasn't his soon-to-be companion's fault that he was starving.. But meeting up in this sort of place to trade information was entirely that person's choice. Fences were such picky people, cautious and clever.. But this Zsasz guy was on a whole new level, it was little wonder Lark had picked him out for this transaction. That woman seemed to know all sorts of people, how she kept track of everything was beyond him.. but Caed could understand why Vi respected the female. Not to mention she let him keep contact with his brother.. If she wanted this.. then he'd do it, annoying or not.

Three days ago he had returned from a scouting mission on Westenra, participating on the Sandmen's Rig-raid.. without them knowing it. While they had taken out the guards and secured the facility Caed had slipped directly into the control center.. copying the computer's files and wiping them clean to ensure the data would be valuable. Lark had known the station was doubling up as a communication base, it was why she'd sent him in, but after studying the data herself.. she had calmly deleted a few files and tossed the Flash Drive back to him with orders to sell the remaining information. He was curious what had been removed, what she deemed 'unwise' to share.. but he had to admit it was probably better not to know.

Kazik found himself with a message requesting a deal to be made, and it was as simple as finding the closest opening he had to schedule. It wasn’t a walk in the park to be a fence with a good reputation, seeing as backstabbers left and right always brought in complications. He was considered reliable, a privilege to have when working with a lot of big ticket organizations. When people had valuable stolen goods, it was easy to be cynical, which made deals so much more complicated. He was among the few who people could sell to at a good rate and not worry about heavy consequences weighing on them after.

When he arrived at the cantina, he had his bodyguards settle around, though not too close, before he found someone who matched the description and walked in that direction. Kazik was clad in a business suit, a helmet covering the whole of his head. He was covered from head to toe, not a centimeter of skin showing. His helmet wasn’t just for protective reasons, but it had a display that he could use to record meetings, just to make sure he remembered who he made deals with and what kind of deal he struck. From his perspective, the display was constantly analyzing everything, keeping tabs for him. It also concealed his expressions, depriving people of comprehending him via facial expression, which was very useful. He’d encountered some people who weren’t very fond of even being looked at wrong.

After sitting down across the client, he crossed his gloved hands. “You’re famished, I can tell. I’ll provide this service free.” He tapped the disc on the table, a holographic display of the menu appearing. He turned the menu over to the person in front of his client, gestured for him to select at his leisure, and crossed his hands again. It was a menu of mostly alcoholic beverages, but a quarter of the menu was food of popular meals throughout the city. His voice had a slightly augmented sound to it, but only because of it having to be received by the helmet and then projected out at the exterior. It was clear and composed, something that had been very useful as a mediator.

Steady green eyes swept the figure that settled across from him in the booth, refusing to move from his rude position on the table.. yet something shifted in his posture, a hesitant air softening his expression. Slowly his gaze slid to the offered menu, the boy sitting up as he politely clasped his hands in a loose grip before he closed his eyes and gently shook his head in denial. " I.. shouldn't impose, but thank you."

That helmet was annoying on a number of levels, he couldn't gage what sort of person this was so it was difficult to decide which 'mask' he wanted to employ.. but from that professional body language he was going to guess the air-head persona would do fine. Do not offend the Fence, Lark said.. Behind his calm, friendly, gaze the boy gave a mental snort.. but made no move to defy the order. As if he'd let this weirdo bribe him with food-- A second, much louder, growl disrupted his thoughts.. the youth's head dropping with resignation as an uncomfortable blush tinted his cheeks. Ahhh, damn it.. He couldn't turn it down, after all.. Not looking up, clearly already knowing what he would want, Caed lifted his left hand to point at the Runatla Juice on the menu. " .. Please." Childish maybe but it was cheap and sweet, he couldn't handle alcohol.

Not a smooth start to a negotiation.. but he could salvage this. Clearing his throat he kept to his well-mannered ruse, lifting his head and sitting up straight as he mimicked Zsasz's posture perfectly.. calmly looking into the helmet's visor as if untroubled by the obstruction. It was a complete bluff, of course, but the kid wouldn't admit how unnerving he found the accessory to be. " My Employer wished to thank you for your time; May we begin?"

When the selection was made, the disc recognized the order, and a small timer indicated the estimate of how long until it’d be brought, which was a little over a minute. Evidently he couldn’t order anything for himself, unless he had the means to drink with the helmet on. He nodded at the thanks and replied simply with, “Yes, of course. What can I do for you?” Usually this sort of thing started with the client explaining if they were buying or selling. If it was buying, there was very little he couldn’t obtain, provided it was obtainable, and if he didn’t have it, he would at least know or have a clue of where to find it. If it was selling, he wasn’t some swindler who tried to pull all the credits from his clients. He was excellent at estimating value and knew who wanted what and for how much they’d be willing.

A number of things had been drilled into his head for this sort of trade, rehearsed and critiqued until the ever-meticulous Lark had been satisfied he was prepared to front for her.. And not damage her good standing with his abrasiveness. She would be buying him a month's worth of his favorite junk food for this..

Externally none of these thoughts showed, his expression serene as he seemed to gage how to respond. " You are aware of the importance of remaining unaffiliated, my Employer also desires to keep a neutral stance.. However we have found ourselves in possession of delicate information." The way he said it, though his voice never changed from its passive tone, made it clear how sensitive the data would be.. It wasn't every day a Higher-up from the Red Hand double crossed his own to try and merge with the Syndicate. In the right hands the information would be priceless, which was why he'd destroyed any backup files. Reaching into his pocket he retrieved a vague, yet honest, summary of the Disc that Lark had composed.. gently placing it on the table for his companion to study at his leisure. " We would like to sell, if you by chance interested."

Kazik picked up the drive and inserted it into the bracer at his wrist, the information playing out, causing him to nod in approval. He knew exactly who’d be willing and how much was a good range. “I’d be foolish to decline. What did your employer have in mind for an asking price?” he replied, pulling the drive out and setting it back down between them. Alternatively, the client could simply ask him what he’d be willing. Naturally, exposing a rat in the organization made for excellent money. He imagined anywhere between two hundred to three hundred thousand, the equivalent to a bounty for an important target, minus the actual hunting on their part but just as many credits. He couldn’t blame the rat, though; where he wanted to go was where almost every criminal willing to get affiliated wanted to go, and this kind of betrayal would’ve been a serious upgrade had he not been caught. However, if that information went to them, profit was also possible. If that were the case, he’d be willing to go higher, maybe another fifty thousand, maybe a hundred thousand. Nevertheless, he was willing, and both involved the two walking away very wealthy.

Gently, so very gently, his fingers flexed as the stranger's filtered voice praised the merchandise.. Caed allowing a pleasant smile as he dropped the figurative 'bomb'. " Five Hundred and Twenty Five Thousand Credits." A server approached and the youth allowed his companion time to absorb the amount, accepting his juice with a friendly nod.. Dismissing the waiter as his nimble fingers unsheathed a straw and slid it into the cup. Rude or not he couldn't resist taking a slow sip, the sweet liquid doing wonders to sooth his empty stomach. It was, in a way, a show of trust that he'd even touched the 'gift'.. The reality was the boy didn't consider the risk of it being drugged or poisoned. He was just a messenger, there would be no value behind taking a small-timer like him out so he didn't worry about it.

Patience was not a virtue the youth had taken to, but he did wait until the server was well out of ear shot before he returned his attention to the male sitting across from him. " Braxton." Son of the Red Hand's treasurer and would-be successor.. It wasn't just a defection to a bigger syndicate, the greedy b*****d had 'bought' his way in with the Red Hand's own money. How much would he pay to keep this quiet..? Or his father to have the proof behind his betrayal? The Syndicate certainly wouldn't want to lose such a promising cash cow.. Cradling his juice between his hands Caed took another sip, waiting for the dots to connect in Zsasz's mind. He couldn't judge the male's face obviously.. but body language would tell him when the information sank in. This was the underworld's equivalent of a Family Betrayal; It would be worth every Credit if not more.

He rose a brow underneath his helmet, but when he heard the name of who the information described, he eased up. “Appropriate.” It was a good deal of credits. As a fence, he made sure things were no longer someone else’s responsibility, and would see to it that profit was made. It was a little over what he felt would’ve been his comfort zone, but information didn’t exactly have a set value, so he’d let this one slip. “And which account do these credits get transferred to?” He notably asked which instead of who, seeing as people could store however much into whichever account they desired. What he needed was the transfer codes for the account. In the credit network, there were access codes that were changed monthly, which was what allowed the individual to freely access their wealth, capable of entering them into credit cards to hold however much. Simultaneously, there were transfer codes on the cards, which was what allowed the holder of the card to spend with a simple swipe, while people who merely had the code could send wealth by using the transfer codes alone.

Reasonable, Lark would like that.. Caed couldn't find it in himself to enjoy the revelation but, as was obvious, it was a helpful trait for this Zsasz man to have. At the question of payment the boy rummaged in his pant pocket, retrieving a second Drive.. the curious item actually modeled like a very cartooned Earth-Native Frog with a drawn-on eye patch and other pirate like features. It was a twisted humor even for his age but Caed was actually very fond of his bizarre little data shell, offering it to Zsasz with an amused flash of his smile. " There are two accounts listed, the second code will become active after payment is cleared in the first account. The Data is encrypted in the second account.."

He went ahead and transferred the credits to the account, the individual digits rising as the credits were accumulating in the account. After completing the transaction of credits for the information, he returned the peculiar drive back to the person before him. He’d have to decide on who to inform, because that’s where the money would pour in. Regardless, money was bound, and that could make any businessman smile, even underneath his helmet, not that anyone could really tell. Zsasz was looking forward to the power he’d briefly hold, deciding whose benefit he’d promote; plenty in the hands of a mediator. “Will that be all?”
