((This was done on skype, and Henry and I are keeping record of it))
Ohanzee
Alone far off near the shore of a lake rests what could only be described as an oddity, a green lion with an abnormally long tongue looks off toward the horizon. Much time had passed since that time he'd reverted to a monster, still a long time since changing once more to what he'd figure would be himself for the rest of his lonely days.
He felt no blame toward family for never going to him, few knew where he'd gone at all. To those who did he probably remained a monster in their eyes...unchanged despite his tries to prove it. Now he sits waiting as days go by, though on this day a rabbit had scooted nearby to sniff. "..."
Dark eyes growing wide he'd slowly extend a dirty paw toward it, flinching when it hesitates. A few long silent minutes pass...then the rabbit actually moves closer until it begins nibbling a flower that was growing beside Ohanzee, doing so calmly. The lost lion smiles.

Annelise
Her paws drug along the ground as she aimlessly got herself lost, with no certain path or destination. The children were grown and living their own lives, and though they did visit, they visited to make sure their mother was still alive because they loved her, and she them. The ache in her chest in knowing that they'd be angry and sad if she were to give up and waste away was the only reason she continued to live. Oh, anytime she heard that foul lioness' name, her hackles would rise and all she wanted was blood; that was another reason that kept her living. One day she would take back what she had once held so dear, and in truth she still held him close to her heart no matter what had happened so long ago. That day would wait until she crossed paths with that lioness; if it ever happened.
Today though, Annelise was going wherever her paws took her. She had been on her way to visit her son, Keme, and see how he was getting along on his own or if he had a good lady friend yet, but her path had changed as she felt a grim mood take over. Instead, she wandered toward a thick area, covered in so much growth that she was sure it would be unoccupied, and the lake too would be hers for the rest of the day. Breaking through the bushes, she came to sit idly by the lake and stare aimlessly down at her own reflection with a sigh.

Ohanzee
As the rabbit contentedly ate the flower near him the odd swamp lion once again drifted into deep thought. He'd recall how that strange lioness had tampered with his inner demons, how his little Kaya saw no Father but a beast before her...and what of Annelise. In his mind she'd want nothing to do with him. These thoughts flood through until moisture brings him back to reality, a fewtears rolling down furry cheeks. As certain as the daylight he still loved her.
Glancing to the rabbit he jumps slightly, the creature startled by a noise so much so that it heads off leaving him. With a heavy sigh he'd get up albeit weakly, his desireto hunt long gone leaving him a bit slimmer than a big lion should be. Now glancing toward the source of the noise he'd freeze in place, the very lioness he'd dreamt of for so long but a few feet away. Now uncertain of running or not he'd simply slump to his rear, tears streaking his green face. Voice soft he'd call to her, chest heaving as the tears picked up to cries then sobs.
"A...Annalise...A...Annelise. Annalise..!"

Annelise
She had been focusing so hard, staring at her reflection in the lake. The passion and fire she had for life was indeed gone from her eyes, and they were no longer bright but dull and sad. She scented a rabbit, and her stomach growled but she ignored the hunger, ignored the instinct to hunt and kill, and ignored the scent all together. Anne wanted to cry, gave a dry sob and no tears spilled. Her tears were gone, but it was a pity her heart was not.Staring intently into the lake, she thought she glimpsed her lion, her Ohanzee their. She wanted to fall into that image and be lost, but it was a trick of her mind. She would drown if she went into the lake; her strength gone from not having eaten the way she should, or exercise like she used to chasing her cubs.
Ready to leave, Anne merely picked up her paw before she heard her name. No, it's not true, she thought. It's a trick! But she looked up anyway and couldn't believe who she saw. "Ohan... Ohanzee? You're a ghost," Annelise whispered said between sobs. "You aren't real!" she backed up a few feet in shock and in pain. She didn't know what to feel, but the tears did fall finally.

Ohanzee
Thinking her about to leave he forces his weak thin body up and forward, determined to reach her despite his crying. He had no pride, no care if others saw how freely he wept both in pain and joy to see her again. "No...I...I'm thin b..but I'm...I'm real. Annelise! I swear I'm not a m...monster! My head was tricked...with magic!" Still moving forward he'd trip butcatch himself too eager to finally reach her.
"P..please! Please I..." Not two feet away he'd slump to his belly on the ground, yet still look up at her. Truth be told he hadn't moved much save to drink in days. He'd been prepared to give in and rest...but now...with the last of his strength he pitifully crawls toward her, grunting until his muzzle rubs against her paw gently. Dark eyes gazing up at her wet yet filled with adoration.
"I never...stopped loving you. Annelise...please...please see me as I am."

Annelise
Annelise watched him and her heart ached. Over the past years she had seen him in her dreams, had wanted to see him so much that she did eventually hallucinate. She wanted to believe he was real, wanted to run, okay, well slowly jog over to him and kiss him all over; embrace him, and cover him with her wings letting him know that she would always love him; monster or not. "You... she... but," Anne was lost for words and didn't know what to say. She just watched him, still shocked that this hallucination was lasting so long.
She was just about to turn her back, and had turned her face away from him as the tears burned hot trails down her cheeks. When she felt his warm muzzle against her paw, Annelise gave into her sobs as they came full force, and felt her heart break again. It wasn't a bad feeling, it was goof actually. She turned back to him still having a hard time believing he was real, and yet he was. She knew he was when he touched her and didn't disappear. "I have loved you all of these years. There has been no person who would change my mind, not even that lioness; as cruel as she was when she thought she had you forever. I knew... I knew one day I would see you again whether in life or death," she laid down next to him, sprawling her body out next to his, and nuzzled his cheek with hers. "It's so hard to believe you're back. Are you... have you really come back to me?"

Ohanzee
For a moment when her head had turned he'd felt hopeless, ready to lay there for good, that is until she finally spoke to him now seeing him asreally there. Rather weak he can barely manage but nuzzles her paw more longing for affection, his heart warmed after all these years. The moment she'd sprawl out next to him he'd snuggle up as close to her as possible, returning the nuzzle eagerly.
"She...never really had me. It was hallowed magic that wore off...but by then my family...hated me. I've never stopped loving you, longing to just be near you again. It took losing you to see that I'm not a monster. You gave me the greatest of joys...Just nuzzling you again makes my heart soar.." Dark eyes close as his energy drains leaving him very tired. "I am yours...I might...be weak now but I...I can get strong again. I will...I'll support us...protect you and stay by yourside until the day we meet on the other side.." Finally he looks at her again, in need of a nap. "W...will you...please take me back? I want to be with you."

Annelise
The tears still fell as she twined her tail with his, and as he snuggled up closer she could feel his every bone, and winced. She wasn't in pain; she felt terrible that he had been alone for so long and realized her Ohanzee was ready to give up... like she almost was. "I'm glad I found you, that you found me. We'll become stronger together." She smiled weakly looking into his eyes, and draping a wing over him. "Your family... our family; it will take them time, but I'm sure they'll love you again if they don't still, but I do know that they do indeed. It'll be hard," she licked his cheek, "we'll get through this together. That other lioness may want you back when she finds out," Anne voiced her one fear, and felt it settle in her heart. "I can't lose you again," she choked out with a final sad sob.
Her tears were tears of joy at this point as her heart warmed and blossomed again with him next to her. "My Ohanzee," she declared with a possessiveness in her tone. "She won't get you a second time; I'll fight her to the death if she tries," the fires in her heart were burning again and she felt some strength return to her will.
"You were never a monster; not at heart. What you had said to me, it wasn't you. The one speaking was the monster she turned you into," Annelise stroked one paw down his side lovingly. "I will always want you, Ohanzee. Of course I want you back; I still trust you, as I trusted you back then even when she changed you. I knew you wouldn't hurt me or our family contrary to what she said. I want you," she snuggled closer to him still, until her warmth consumed him. And she too fell asleep alongside him, her heart burning hot and bright once again
