My friend likes to call most of the "shadow" things roaches, or bugs. And to be honest a lot of them are like roaches or leeches...least the ones I get around me home...
If you get a bad feeling from them Either try focusing on the target and actually pour energy into it...providing you know how to...they usually can't stand getting too much energy at once and leave...
If there not giving off a bad feeling, then I wouldn't worry about it. There just watching you.

Shades can be several things... Yes, it is most likely someone who has passed on... If it is a repetitive occurance, then they quite possibly are attached to you.
When it comes to feeling out what an unknown entity is... stop yourself, force yourself into a relaxed state, and take note of what is going on. Are you being overwhelmed by any specific emotion? Do you see certain colors? Burn any of the details into your mind and evaluate it later.

Kinda reminds me of the 'shadow' insects, weird dog, etc. I've seen. But never right in my line of sight... out of the corner of my eyes. sweatdrop

A majority of what I have seen.. has left me with a "in your face" feeling... (Doors opening an inch from my nose, when it never really opened at all... A wispy figure that came barreling towards me, just to stop at the last second and pull back ever so slightly...)

A long time ago I used to see shadowy figures all the time in my parent's house. They would usually disappear around a corner really quickly (one corner in particular). I also had a dream about a shadowy figure when I was 3 or 4 and I still remember it.

I had a very bad encounter with a shadow once. It was standing over my bed with a knifish-shaped thing, and the vibes I was getting from it were anything but good. I still get that same feeling once in a while, but I have yet to see it again... Although it's fairly obvious it watches me. sweatdrop On a completely different note! Here's an article you might find interesting. wink Quote: Science wrecks a good ghost story By ROBERT MATTHEWS Ghosts may have a scientific explanation after all _ and it is not all in the mind. New research into a real-life haunting has revealed that all the classic signs of ghosts can be explained as the result of very low frequency sound waves trapped inside buildings. Capable of being triggered by nothing more than the wind passing over walls, the sound waves cannot be heard. But scientific tests have revealed that they have effects on the human body that can account for the wraith-like appearance of ghosts and even the feelings of cold and terror that accompany them. The explanation emerged after a chance discovery by a university academic who found himself involved in a haunting in a laboratory. AE One night as Vic Tandy worked alone he began sweating despite feeling cold and then he noticed a figure in the room. ``The hair was standing up on the back of my neck _ I was terrified.'' The explanation emerged the following morning. Mr Tandy, a fencing enthusiast, had left a foil clamped in a vice. ``When I returned, I noticed that the free end of the blade was frantically vibrating up and down.'' A trained engineer, he realised that the blade might be receiving energy from very low frequency sound waves filling the laboratory _ so low that they could not be heard. Tests duly revealed the existence of a ``standing wave'' trapped in the lab which reached a peak in intensity next to his desk. ``It turned out to be caused by a new extraction fan ... When the fan's mounting was altered, the ghost left with the standing wave.'' Working with Dr Tony Lawrence of the university's school of health, he has now discovered the significance of this rate of vibration. In research published in the latest issue of the Journal of the Society for Psychical Research they reveal that ``infra-sound'' around this frequency has been linked to a whole host of physiological effects _ including breathlessness, shivering and feelings of fear. While acoustic experts have known about the health effects of infra-sound, until now no one has made the link to ghosts. Mr Tandy said that he has since come across two more ``hauntings'' where low-frequency sound may be to blame. TELEGRAPH - Copyright (c) David Syme & Co 1999.

Shukaku-Sand-Demon I have a question for anybody that can answer. I've been seeing shadow-like things in the forest, houses, and various other places. Like a few days ago, I was in a forest. There were two of these shadows that were holding hands and sitting down. And looked at them, and started walking towards them. As soon as I started walking, they dissappeared. It happens every few days, maybe a little sooner. But I am not talking about just out of the corner of my eyes. The are right in the middle of my vision. And I know it is not my imagination because every time I am around them, I get a prickly feeling all over my skin. So, anybody got any ideas about the shadow-like creatures, or whatever they are, and why I'm seeing them? Those shadows you are seeing are demons. I know this because I have experienced seeing such things and have that particular feeling but FAR MORE WORSE.

If when they sit, they're sitting in mid air or something, you could be seeing an impression left there. As everyone knows, emotions can very strong imprints upon the Earth.
But then again they could be spirits, shadow walkers, faeries(HIGHLY doubtful), or any of the things listed here.

No matter what it may be, don't fear it. *sighs* you don't know how many times things like them get seen my my friends and they all get scared... Half the time I just lie and say I don't see them. I wouldn't be supprised if some of them out there actually feed off of fear.
