"After what Miwako did to him yesterday? I'm surprised he can form sentences..."

"Huh...didn't expect that."
"What an optimist..."
"Wha-?! Really?! You do?!"
...
"I do."
"T-thanks, man. That really means a lot to m-"
"I believe you'll come up with something completely generic at the last moment...maybe something that we've done as a yearly contest every year...something ANYBODY could have come up with given enough time to read through the backlog...and you'll pass it off as a revelation...BUT that you'll introduce it with enough enthusiasm to get us all fired up again in spite of yourself. You're good like that..."
...
"Was that a compliment? I can't tell..."
"It's kind of sad, really, when that's all there is to say..."
"...TIME IS U-!!!"
"SHUT YOUR FACE ALREADY, YOU ISHIDIOT!"

Quote: Submission By: Great Ryoman! Submission Title: This Story Will Literally Never Happen Characters: Eido x Lira Lira sipped at her drink, gripping the cup lightly between the tips of her fingers. There was a stirring in her breast that she hadn't felt in a while, but she couldn't place it. It occurred to her she hadn't been outside in quite some time, at least not with friends, but when Haru-Miji approached her and insisted they hang out she'd relented...but only when Haruto had passed by, and Miji convinced him to put in his two cents. Even now the nervousness that came with bitter memories didn't dissipate, but she knew that the feeling of losing former comrades would only fade if she strove to make new ones. At least, that's what Saitou always said. Speaking of, he and Haruto were currently fighting over the last slice of pizza in what had essentially become a game of 'Balance the spoon on your nose, while whacking at the other guy's face with chopsticks'. "Stupid." A sigh escaped her lips. "INSULTS ARE FORBIDDEN! I don't know what bug crawled up your-" Knuckles smashed into Ishimaru's nose, while Lira slowly slid a hand across the table and swiped the last piece of pizza. 'The early bird gets the worm. Or, early to rise, early to brains.' Lira's mind rattled off the tag line from the cheesy Zombie movie she'd seen last night, and she found herself blushing slightly as she recalled the unusually high number of...intimate scenes. "Thinking of something naughty?" Her thoughts were interrupted when Haru-Miji slid across the table with a sly grin, causing Lira to frown and raise a hand...only for Noelle's fist to come smashing down on top of his head. "Can't you guys at least act serious in public for five seconds? You're scaring kids." Lira chewed on the piece of pizza and glanced around at their surroundings. She wasn't sure why, but they'd ended up eating at a local pizzeria, complete with a Chuck E. Cheese style mascot and stage...and the audience was of the age range you'd typically expect. "Where is Eido, anyways?" Lira shot a glare towards Haru-Miji, since it seemed like most of this was his idea, but the green haired trickster instantly averted his gaze and began muttering something about not seeing him. 'H-huh...?' That was strange. Why didn't he just answer her directly...? The others seemed to take notice of Haru-Miji's response too though, and exchanged glances. Apparently she wasn't the only who thought the cloud cuckoolander was being odd. "Speaking of, Eido's really started to come into his own, huh? As a Persona User, I mean." Noelle chipped in suddenly, changing the topic. "I admit I had my doubts before, but he's really giving it his all, right?" Noelle glanced over to Haruto and jabbed an elbow into her neighbor's ribs, a trick Lira didn't miss. "Owwwchies...yeah. He definitely seems like a hard worker though. He really gives off a good vibe." Haruto took a sip after saying that and glanced over at Saitou, who calmly took a drink himself and refused to meet his eyes. "He's not the type to change his tune easily. I trust him to have my back...for what it's worth." The way Saitou relayed his comment made Lira think back on the others who'd once guarded their back, but before she could feel the weight settle on her heart again Haruto retorted, a bit more annoyed than before. "Hey Saitou, I already used the music metaphor! Nobody asked for a cover!" That joke was aaaaaa bit of a stretch, but it was enough to get the two arguing again. "Well...what about you Lira? What do you think about Eido?""Hoooooooooooold it! I'll have you know that student member Eido has already broken a record three hundred and sixty four rules since-" "CAN IT." Lira brought a hand down in a karate chop into the forehead of Ishimaru, and the loudmouth went crumbling to his seat again while she grabbed her drink and put the straw between her lips with a huff. The question wasn't one she normally thought about, but Ishimaru had a point that he was always causing problems. "...underwear thieves should just die." Of course she knew he wasn't solely responsible, something made clear by Haru-Miji's suddenly pale experience, but calling him blameless was a mistake too. "Eido might look honest on the surface, but...something that rotten doesn't deserve to live. My Grimm will enjoy taking his soul. Ufufufufu..." Lira suddenly materialized her scythe and stroked the back edge of the blade slowly, letting out a slow and maddening laugh. "R-right...but, you don't think he's really a bad guy, do you? I think he's got room for improvement...and he can't really talk to girls...a-and his Persona is scary, in a number of ways...but-""Bathroom!" The not-so-stellar description was cut off as Haru-Miji shot up from his seat and announced a little too loudly that he had to go so he could go. Both Haruto and Saitou suddenly twisted to look Miji in the eye, and sparks of understanding bounced between the three. Were they trying to be subtle? "Miji...""...who cares? Guys just go."A cloud hung over Haru-Miji's head as he realized just how swiftly he'd been denounced by his friends, and made to look like some out of place pervert. It made Noelle laugh a little, and even Lira felt like the mood improved a little with that. Miji waved his hand to signal that he was going anyway, and passed by the other two (who sat at the edge of the booth), turning to go towards the front of the restaurant as soon as he was free. As he passed Saitou, he brushed into the other's shoulder, and Lira would have sworn there was hidden meaning in the action if she hadn't seen him cast off so easily. "Speaking of, I should probably go call Miwako and see what's keeping her. Move it, Mashiba." Noelle puffed out her cheeks as Haruto motioned for her to slide over his lap and out of the booth, causing him to scratch his cheek and move with a little bit of sweat running down his brow. Lira was almost jealous of the way those two got along, but being that close to others just meant that if you failed them, it would leave an even bigger scar. Even Saitou seemed to be dealing with his demons from before, but for her each time Grimm appeared, it was an unpleasant reminder that not only had she let them down...she'd even grown from it, and that was wrong. It had to be. "Hey Ishi. Is he alright?" Saitou's snapping fingers in front of Ishimaru's face was the next thing to bring Lira to attention, and she looked away from the stage (which was now no longer in use, but had a 'the show will begin shortly sign' hanging), and glanced over to the two protags trying to shake their Ruel-Fiend friend into consciousness. "Alright, lets get you some air knucklehead. Come on..." Saitou slid an arm under Ishimaru's shoulder and lifted him from the seat, bubbles still foaming in his mouth. "I'll help. Lira, watch our drinks for us, alright?" Haruto winked towards Lira, and she pretended to hide a blush by taking another sip and averting her gaze. S-stupid birthday cake incident! "Up and at 'em Ishi! If some cute girl spikes my drink while we're gone and takes my youth from me, you'll pay for it!" As Haruto made the embarrassing declaration in his usual cool fashion, Ishimaru barely mumbled something about indecency rules, and the trio wandered towards the door outside. 'It's no more than he deserves...' Lira muttered, looking down at the table full of half-eaten snacks and melting drinks frivolously. Now that she thought about it, even though they were an even odder bunch than their old friends, it somehow felt more like a home...and she almost felt thankful that they didn't have to see each other as enemies any longer. But considering what they'd paid to get here only made her feel more guilty, and a pang filled her chest again. It was then she heard the curtain pulling back on the stage, and looked up with excitement to see what animatronic attraction would be delighting this time! N-not that she had a weakness for that sort of thing. "More than just a dreeeam~ Oooh oohooh~" T-that wasn't Pizza Mouse. Pizza Mouse wouldn't wear that stupid pink shirt...and wouldn't have machine-like puppets of Persona behind him. 'E-eido! W-w-what the hell!' Lira screamed inwardly, but the voice never reached the outside. "Forty days and forty nights~! I waited for a girl like you to come and save my liiife. I recall the days I waited for you, you know the ones that said, 'I'd never find someone like you.'" If the others were here, she would assume this was a stupid act to ingratiate himself to the group, but they'd all wandered off already. The blood was rushing to her cheeks already, and if the chef emerged right now she got the feeling he'd mistake her for one of the bright red tomatos he'd put in the their specialty sauce. "Iiiiiiiiiidiot!" Although it was out of character, Lira couldn't hold herself back anymore as she shot to her feet, shouting loud enough to fill the room. "You were out of my league, got my heartbeat racing~. If I die don't wake me, 'cause you are more than just a dream." Despite an obvious flinch, Eido finished his song and pointed towards Lira with a wink, regardless of the audience's amazement...of course they were stunned! They were mostly a bunch of children! As if parroting her embarrassment, the moment Eido finished his cool facade faded and a blush spread from ear to ear, his flimsy exterior of toughness crumbling in an instant. "D-do you think this is funny?" A thousand thoughts passed through Lira's mind as she tried to rationalize it. He'd done stupid pranks before, but t-to just embarrass himself like that...she couldn't understand why. "I'm leaving, you stupid...stupid IDIOT!!" Lira sputtered, turning and marching towards the exit. She felt speechless after that display. "W-wait! Lira, I'm sorry! P-p-please...PLEASE GO OUT WITH ME!" Lira stopped dead in her tracks at the declaration. She didn't need to turn around to know what was probably happening, Eido standing there with an overly exaggerated pose, face squished tight in embarrassment, fists balled at his side...she refused to turn around and have her vision confirmed, refused to admit this was anything close to reality. She could already feel tears at the edge of her eyes. T-this wasn't a joke...idiot! "I...I asked the guys to help get you here today. I can't...normally speak to g-girls well, but ever since I met you, I've f-felt...like I'd been missing something. I know I can't...put it i-into words well, so I thought it m-might work if I had a chance to sing. Haruto...and the others...they all supported me. So please..." Silence followed, as Eido clearly waited for some indication from Lira. 'I...I'm not going to turn around for something like that. Stupid.' Lira began to take a step forward, but suddenly the hum of a guitar string followed, and she turned to see Eido standing there with an unabashedly happy smile, and unquenchably watery eyes both adorning his face. It struck her then how hard this was for him...a-and yet, if he got up there just for some stupid prank-! "Heartbeat, fast. Colors and promises. Hooow to be brave? How can we love when we're afraid to fall~? But watching you stand alone, all of my doubt suddenly goes away. Somehow, come one step clooooser~
I have died every day waiting for you~ Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you, for a thousand years~ And I'll love you for a thousand mooooore." The song seemed like a blur to Lira as it passed by, and her body felt light, as if she were a thousand light-years away. When Eido finished Lira didn't know what to do, and the performer stood in equal silence...until the girl marched up to the stage, grabbed him by the ear, and drug the stupid boy from it with nary a care for the cord wrapped around his leg or anything else. As the two emerged from the front door Lira noticed a crowd standing outside, including Haruto and all the others who'd made up excuses before. 'You lying son of a-a...!!!" As her gaze passed over them most diverted their eyes, although Mashiba gave a cheesy smile and Saitou seemed especially condemned. And damn right he was, selling out his teammate like that! "W-w-w-hat was all that about!? You stupid pervert, just coming out on stage and a-a-acting like some sort of hot shot, singing that sort of...gah!" Lira must have looked like a silly anime character waving her arms around as she shouted, and she was more aware than anyone she was acting out of character. But no one could receive that sort of full-fledged confession like something out of a d-different era, and still...! Bah! "You shouldn't make noises like that Lira. It's not very lady like~" Haruto joked, putting an arm around Eido as the others suddenly felt the invisible barrier collapse. Gosh, what sort of pack mentality were these bastards...! "And I tried to teach him, but there's no way he could duplicate my majestic voice~""I'm sorry your Majesty, but which one of actually stayed up all night with him practicing? It's not easy teaching someone who rattles like a maraca to play a guitar, either; even if it was just memorizing a few cords..." Saitou seemed to be taking this as coolly as the others. 'D-don't tell me that this is really a...a-a...!!'"Hey Eido, be honest! You're just a stupid perv, taking your stupid pervert joke too far, aren't you y-you-!!""Aaah geesh, I can't stand this anymore! Of course he was being serious, Lira! You don't think we'd really help him out without making sure ourselves, do you? And besides, we've all seen the way he acts around you. Not nearly as mature as me. Right Eido?" Lira jumped to the side as Haru-Miji hang over backwards from a flagpole, seemingly popping up (down?) right beside her suddenly. She wanted to unleash Grimm so bad on him right now...-! As she glanced over towards Eido though, her face suddenly went white at the sight of the kid collapsed backwards into Ishimaru's arms. On further inspection, it was clear his nerves had finally caught up with him...but geez, couldn't he act at least a little more manly. The whole thing still had Lira spinning. She'd always thought of Eido as a helpful teammate, but he was also a pervert and a scoundrel. Sometimes she felt like she couldn't put up with his antics at all, but at the same time... "That settles that! The first team's couple is now formed, but I still have a list of rules to guarantee nothing M-Rated happens-""Ichi-moron!" An uppercut connected with the rule setter in an instant as Lira huffed again, only this time she was noticeably agitated...and everyone else took a step back in queue, save for Eido. "What's...settled...we haven't even started to talk about this!" Lira raised her eyes to glare at Ishimaru, but the info didn't seem to sink in...at least, in the right way. Ishimaru was nodding, instead. "Mm, as I thought! No girl would actually go for Eido after all. I theorized a rule breaker like him, who constantly stays out late, and never eats proper diets, while studying an inadequate amount of time would never-""T-THAT'S NOT IT!" Lira snapped, causing even Ishimaru to recoil again. "I just...I don't want something like this. It's not just Eido, but you, and Haruto, and the others..." Tears were pricking her eyes, but she refused to let them fall. But they were all trying to force something, when she felt so... "If you ended up disappearing, and I...hic...I don't..." A silence fell, all thanks to Lira, and she only felt the pit in her stomach grow as the fun sapped out of the day. "It's okay." Suddenly a pair of arms wrapped around Lira, and she raised her head to see Eido's smiling face. "It's okay. I don't know what happened, but...we're all tough. And I'm not going anywhere. Even if it killed me, I'd never let something cause you to cry again Lira...""S-stupid...what kind of -hic- promise...is that? Y-you....you just..." Somehow, Lira found her arms moving ever so slightly to wrap around the boy in return. It wasn't that she was under any obligation to, but when she thought back on it, Eido had always been there. Not just for the team...but even for her, and even now. Maybe she'd been wrong about him...and the feeling she'd had in her chest earlier began to return. "I...I don't know if I can, but if you'd like to try going on a date..." Lira raised her eyes to look at Eido, and felt a small smile spread when she saw another enormous blush. "...b-but just one, idiot." Maybe it wasn't so wrong to trust again, and if she could find a way to care for him, then perhaps one day she might even... "And thus was born the tsunest dare to ever tsun a dere." Saitou muttered, facepalming. "I honestly never thought he could do it." Haruto slipped Saitou a fifty, an equal look of disbelief. Just then, a speckle of cold brushed against Lira's shoulder. She glanced to the side, and caught a glimpse of the snowflake just before it vanished. Eyes turned upwards as they all gaped at the first falling snow of the season, and stress seemed to disappear, as if they were all caught in a single, perfect moment in time. Only Eido seemed to not get the memo as a small chuckle began, and Lira looked over to see him grinning, only to find herself beginning to laugh again as well. It'd been so long since she'd felt this sincere, and now she couldn't stop chuckling... "It's beautiful." Noelle uttered, raising a hand to the sky. Haruto stepped beside her and looked in the same direction, and Haru-Miji hung with mouth agape in his same unusual routine. "...Merry Christmas everyone." Saitou's words brought back the most important thing they'd been forgetting. The reason for their celebration...this special day, which they were spending together for the first time. And now, it had an entirely new meaning. Lira felt her cheeks heating again, but a tug at her hand reminded her Eido was there too. "...Just one question. How'd you pay for the restaurant? Or the...robot thingies, with the instruments? Those were custom made.""Oh, I didn't pay for them. I had my old friend help...he's a professor at Yasogami." In the background, shouting could be heard. Something along the lines of... 'What's this? It's out of controoool! Ruuuuun!'Haruto and Saitou locked eyes suddenly. "I have a bad feeling about this."The wall behind them exploded, as a large...er, Mara robot, emerged from within the restaurant. Around it's 'neck' was a sign that read out-of-order. "CHEESE IT!" As Haruto shouted, most of the group began sprinting away, and the robot seemed to follow as if driven by the spirit of the original. "Heeelp meeee!" Shouted a pale skinned adult whose collar seemed caught on the contraption, pulled behind the parade of fleeing victims. Before anyone returned, and noting Eido's attention focused on the...embarrassing...sight, Lira leaned forward, pressing lips against a surprisingly soft cheek. Eido's eyes shot wide, but before he lowered his head she was already staring away again, a sharp blush worthy of hiding. "...Merry Christmas...Eido.."

Quote: Submission By: Rednal Submission Title: D***it, Zeo! Characters: Mr. Hanamura, Others Text: "Could someone remind me how this got started again?" Mr. Hanamura asked, looking around the rooftop and eying the devastation. The others looked around, and bit by bit, they started to piece it together. All of them agreed that it had started with a call from Mr. Hanamura, who'd been having... well... several kinds of trouble lately. Desperate to improve his reputation with Corporate, he'd hit on what had been referred to as a "fantastic idea", taking advantage of Inaba's surprisingly liberal and multicultural makeup to host a giant Christmas festival. This being Japan, the only part of Christmas that mattered for most people was the romance, and that was where everything had started to go wrong... It had all made so much sense to start with! Quite a lot of the kids here in Inaba were rich. Wonderfully, free-spendingly rich. Like that blue-haired boy who had gotten so excited about the prospect of creating a party where there would be BAAAAAABES! He'd managed to sell the store's entire stock of party supplies, and that was obviously worth celebrating, right? In the midst of the excitement, they'd hatched another plan. They weren't just going to have a huge party for all the (rich) students and (rich) new inhabitants of the city... they'd bring their parents along as well! So many singles who'd want to hook up - and he could sell them everything the needed to start their new life together! And he always knew who to contact about getting massive projects done on basically no notice whatsoever - that Seta kid was going to go far. They'd been called in and worked to start setting everything up. The invitations were passed out - who'd refuse an invitation from the school's most popular boy? - and things had been looking up. And then... well... nobody seemed to know exactly where it was that things had started to go wrong. It must have been when the blue-haired boy came flying in on a helicopter, promising eternal wealth and happiness to the greatest babe there. Wait, no, maybe it had been the alcohol beforehand, loosening their inhibitions and their wallets. Well, when you put a bunch of cougars together like that, promising the romance they'd wanted... chaos had ensued. That was where everyone's memories had started to get a little groggy - except for some of the kids, anyway, but they were all being suspiciously close-mouthed on the subject. Just... at the back of his mind, he could almost remember what had been said... I am the Shadow, the True Self. The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed...Celebrate life's love, its passion, its power...Well... he'd still sold through the stock, and that was what mattered, right? Of course it was! Corporate was just going to be so pleased, and- "Excuse me, Mr. Hanamura." He felt a tug on his sleeve, and looked down to see a girl who was... one of his friend's friend's friends, right? Kids these days and their crazy connections. "Yuno's very glad to hear that she can have free parfaits for the rest of her life here.""What!? D-don't be ridiculous!" he said. "I admit it's been a bit of a wild night, but I would have remem-"Yuno held up her cell phone, clearly displaying an image. An image that was- oh gods, was that real!? "Yuno's very glad to hear that she can have free parfaits for the rest of her life here." she said in the exact same tone of voice. Blood rushing away from his face, the man just nodded mutely, and the girl hummed happily as she skipped off, latching onto the arm of a grey-haired kid. The image burned into his mind was one he'd never be able to forget. Him, and... and her name was Ohtani, right? Somehow, her lipstick had gotten onto his cheek as the blue-haired boy stood in the background, giving him a thumbs-up. Oooooh, if his wife saw this, he'd be ruined! Ruined forever! "...What's wrong with your dad, Yosuke?""I'unno. Anyway, I've got these magazines with some nurses in santa outf-""IN WHAT, YOSUKE!?""Gaaah! Nothing, nothing, I'm sorry! Stop chasing me, Chie!""Not until you explain what you were talking about! Get back here before I punt you right off the roof!""That's right, Yosuke-kun! I would also like to have you explain yourself!""...Merry Christmas, everyone.""Stop trying to wrap this up all smoothly and HELP me, partner!"

Quote: Submission By: Necromonium Submission Title: Language Characters: Rednal Ak'thias, and Aselia Bluespirit Text: It was a cold, snowy night. Moonlight shone on robes of white, and a brilliant crown befitting of a queen. And yet, as long blue locks flowed in the darkness, something was troubling the young lady. Shimmering blue orbs glanced over several nearby houses, seeing couples and families alike huddled under blankets, whispering sweet nothings in each other's ears. Truly, a time for loved ones to get together, and share these moments.... So why was it....that she felt so tense and troubled? Rednal said he had gone out to grab something and would return, Yuno was nowhere to be found, Kanade was still living away from them, and Asuka was visiting a friend. She would have the place, and Rednal to herself for the night. A thought that brought joy to her heart...but at the same time, she couldn't help but delve inward on her thoughts. Thoughts of a darker time...When she was being hunted for her unique powers...Powers that she didn't understand. People called her a monster out of fear, a mute because she was scared to respond, and dense for choosing not to use words to communicate. She never liked them that much...Words caused miscommunication, and miscommunication lead to problems. Problems that ruined friendships, and things that made her happy. It had been quite a long time that she'd been with the Yatagarasu as 'That Nn Girl.' Enough for her to meet a few people she deemed close friends, and to travel to many areas. She postured, pantomimed, and gestured her heart out to each and every one of them, finding their responses and looks of recognition just so...Fun to see! And yet, in this night of nights, with her time with Rednal...She wondered, and worried. A hand moved over her heart for a brief moment, then another to her lips, reflexively gesturing even with no one there. It'd become second nature to her....But, this was supposed to be a special, romantic time..... A look of hesitation crossed her face for a bit, before she heard someone starting over to the house. A quick glimpse revealed silver hair moving to the door with a key...The same figure that always made her heart skip a beat whenever she saw him well. She quickly made her way back into the building from a window, and started downstairs. "Nn!" she sounded out, waving energetically at the boy, before flinching. A hand moved to her chest at this, considering her options at this point..And worrying. "Thank you, Aselia." Rednal's voice called back with a warm smile, holding a small box and beckoning her down the stairs. The blue haired girl started down a bit uneasily, wondering that all important question...Her fingers moving idly over her lips, and throat. Should she....?
"Hey..why the long face?" Rednal inquired, making her jump a bit in reflex. She quickly started to wave her hands aside to brush along the worry, but the silver haired figure's eyes seemed to almost shimmer...As if coming to a realization.
"You know Aselia..." He started, as the girl stood atop the staircase. "I don't care what people say. I'm more than proud to call such a pretty girl my girlfriend." The girl flushed slightly, and sounded out a small cough, starting to get into practice.
"And more than anything, I love you for who you are. Your transformation, your kindness towards everyone...Your Adorable gestures, and your beautiful 'Nn's. You don't need to force anything..You don't need to do anything special for me this Christmas....just be here for me." The blue haired girl stood there a bit in shock, before her hands moved up to brush some tears that were forming in her eyes. She should have known that her own gestures would have been easy to read for someone she spent so much time with. No words were needed for him to understand her worries, just their hearts. She didn't need to do anything she wasn't used to, she didn't need to spell it out...She just needed to do what came naturally to her...And he would accept it, and love her as she did him. And, in that moment, as she practically flew down into his arms, she sounded what was most natural to her in that very moment. "Nn!"

Quote: Submission By: Necromonium Submission Title: Family Characters: Amora, and Faustus Necromonium [With Keira] Text: Ten for ten.....again. Faust had been practicing his archery for a while now, having formed small targets out of the snow. First he'd set them up..and then he'd knock them down with his bow. Over and over, he set them up, and then shot them down. Constant, rigorous firing..All in the name of getting stronger...Or so he pretended. In reality, he was trying to get his mind off of what had happened. Things moved too quickly, and his life became far too troubled...And yet, as he drew the bow back, he felt a small hand on his shoulder.
"Dad.. You've been outside for hours. Please come back inside.."' a younger voice called, the girl that had changed his life to the point it was spiraling out of control. The girl that called herself his daughter...And had gotten him in more trouble than anything else in his life. Was he still upset about her? Maybe a little, but was it going to change anything?
"Yeah...I'll be there in a minute." he responded soundlessly, letting the bow retract into the cross he wore on his wrist. His aim was impeccable, and his Persona power, respectable. And yet... Why...do I feel so...weak? he thought, before starting back into the building that he called his home. He'd moved out from Kusuri's as his place was built again and they...had their differences. Even if his Mother was just working for a few more hours, the place still seemed far emptier without the two girls he'd been with for so long. He strode into the living room quietly, glancing over the pink haired girl dressing their bare tree. His mother had been too busy to place them, and he..didn't have the spirit for it.
"Oh..Hey Dad." Amora's voice piped up, stretching to reach near the top of the tree. "Could you give me a hand with this? I can't..quite..reach..."
Faust nodded quietly, and moved to cup the girl's hand in his, positioning the Ornament just right for her. Looking down at her, with such a focused expression in her deep blue eyes....He could tell. She really is my child..at least. he thought quietly, moving back to sit on the small couch. Amora continued to decorate the tree, before turning back to Faust. At first, she looked excited, but it quickly shifted to worry, as she moved to his side.
"Dad...It's christmas Eve." the girl slightly whined, nudging him. "Please...today at least, try to let your worries go."
"Alright...I'll try." Faust responded, slightly closing his eyes. "I just...am feeling really worn out..."
"Well, you were shooting arrows for two hours, Dad." Amora retorted, gently nudging him. "When I was first starting out, you would barely let me shoot arrows for ten minutes without making me stop. You always were worried about me..."
Faust tried to picture it, a slightly older version of himself instructing the girl on how to fire arrows. Hold her arm straighter...Aim a bit higher..Account for the Wind..
"And now, I'm worried about you. Role reversal, isn't it?" she called, reaching under the tree to pull out a small box. "Come on Dad..What about presents? There's something under the tree here for you."
Faust's eyes slightly opened at this, leaning over. "There is..?" he called, before sliding across the floor and looking over the box. A small tag adorned a red box, with a few words written in neat cursive he didn't recognize.
Don't open until midnight.
"What is...this?" he asked, prompting the girl to giggle.
"You'll find out at midnight." she mused with a familiar mischievous grin. He could definitely see Keira in her smile, though he was now sufficiently intrigued. He leaned back against the couch again, waiting for the minutes to tick by. Amora moved to the kitchen as he rested, working on cooking something that smelled sweet and heavenly. A small smile formed at his lips as the time ticked down, and he waited.
Time passed..and for the first time in a long while, he'd managed to lazily drift off into a relaxing, pleasant slumber. However, as he was starting to get settled, a loud clatter could be heard, quickly snapping him out of his dream.
"W..What was that?" he called, his bow starting to form in his hands. However, his fear was quickly dispelled by a small giggle.
"You told me yourself in the future, Daddy." Amora called, pulling something out of the oven. "It was Santa, coming to bring us gifts." Before He could make any sort of remark, a knocking could be heard at the door. Faust glanced towards it, as Amora gave him a small nod. "Go on.." she encouraged, smiling as she started to section off the cake. Faust hesitated, but made his way to the door, resting his hand on the knob for a few tense moments..and opened it.
"Hey there, Faust." an all too familiar voice called, wearing a red suit and a warm smile.
"Keira.." He addressed, sounding a bit distant still...but not displeased. The girl paused for a bit, and waggled her finger in front of him.
"No no no...Yuno will not allow this." she stated in a sharp tone...before her fingers poked at his cheeks. "Today is Christmas..A happy time! And since Yuno came over here to be with you and Bun...Faust should be happy too, yes?" Faust's hand moved to the cheek she was poking, as if to confirm it was real. For a long moment that seemed to last for a small eternity. As he confirmed that he wasn't in a dream, a small smile formed at his lips.
"Yeah...you're right." he called, as the girl started past him, and took a spot on the couch. Faust moved over at this, barely feeling his feet on the ground as he made his way to her side. He lent down into the couch he'd been resting on until a short while ago, and smiled at the girl in the Santa outfit that had swung by. As he did, the wondrous smell of chocolate filled the air, as Amora brought forth what he had caught a mere whiff of earlier. A small, but appetizing cake created by the young girl, and cut into three pieces.
"I figured that we should celebrate Christmas together again.." Amora mused, the same smile Keira wore on her face.
"As a....family." Keira finished, hesitating to say the word, but at the same time, having a small hint of pleasure at speaking it. As Amora set her own plate down on the arm rest, she then moved over to lift up the small wrapped box under the tree. A few lithe steps later, and she was holding it out to Faust.
"Here. It's past midnight." she called, before sitting beside him. "Go ahead and open it up...Daddy."
Faust let his hands run over the wrapping for a few moments, before tearing it open. He felt his heart leap into his throat, and a few tears moving to his eyes as he looked at it.
"Do you like it? Momma said that I should bring this back with me." Amora explained, her hands moving to support the present that Faust held..
It was a picture frame with an image (presumably) from the future. An older male figure with the same Dark Green hair, a more mature figure with long pink hair, and what looked like a young girl no older than three years old between them. If there was any doubt to the truth behind her words as his daughter, they were swiftly dispelled. As he stood, transfixed by the view, he could feel the two girls leaning into him, soft, warm hands wrapping around him.
"Merry Christmas, Faust." Keira's voice called softly, pressing her lips to his cheek.
"I love you, Daddy." Amora whispered, nuzzling into her father's side.
"Thank you, Keira..." Faust responded in an easy tone, feeling his body relax with the two around him as he whispered the last few words, a response that flowed naturally. "I love you too, honey."

Quote: Submission By: pikeru3617 Submission Title: Party time with Soji! Characters: Cassim, Soji, Nanako, Teddie, Yosuke, Kanji, and Resi Text: Cassim was walking around a bit bored, while he was watching people do last minute shopping. A bitter look was on his face actually, but it went away when he saw the silver haired boy that was in his class just leaving a store with bags. Having nothing better to do, he went over with a smile and carefree look on his face."Hey, Soji-san. You wouldn't mind if I help you out with those, would you?"He was getting better on his Japanese and really hoped that Soji wouldn't ask him why he wasn't with his family or something along those lines.
Soji was a bit surprised to see Cassim and even more so when he offered to help him, but it is probably just the holiday spirit. "Sure, thanks." He thanked before taking Cassim with him back to his home. Along the way, they talked about random things. The young man was laughing and smiling, something he hasn't really done in a long time.
Finally they got to Soji's house and after Soji let himself and Cassim in, they were greeted by a little girl, that Cassim would find out to be Nanako. "Welcome back big bro!" The little girl smiled cheerfully though was curious about the boy that came in with her brother.
"You have a cute little sister, Soji-san." Cassim smiled before kneeling down and smiled sightly at the little girl "My name is Cassim, It's nice to meet you, are you looking forward on meeting this Santa Claus?" He didn't want to scare the girl. To his relief Nanako nodded, excited on spending time with her family and opening presents. "Have you seen Santa Claus, Cassim?" She asked looking up hopeful.
Cassim nodded with a smile "I did a few times, he was with a few of his reindeer when both me and my little brother and little sister were with some other children. He was amazing, he gave us candy and shoes or stuff toys. My little sister got a stuff lamb and my little brother got a candy bar. I got a pair of shoes." He was starting to miss his siblings now though.
"Where are they right now?" Nanako asked making Cassim give a sad smile "They are in heaven right now with both my mother and father." He thought Nanako would drop it right then and there so he was surprised when she told him that she was sure that he would see them again someday. After that they went to help Soji decorate the tree and outside.
Soji was unpacking the decorations while making sure Cassim was being nice to his precious little sister. He was glad that they seem to be getting along and noticed that they were coming over to help. There wasn't really need to put anything else outside, after all he didn't want Nanako to catch a cold. So decorating the tree sounds like the safest thing right now. What could go wrong?
At first things were going smoothly as Nanako was teaching Cassim how to hang decorations on the Christmas tree. After getting done with decorating the tree, the door bell rang, Cassim got up to get so Soji could spend time with Nanako. Though after he opened the door, he was taken down by a roll out attack by a bear like costume. "Nanako-chan! Teddie is here!" Teddie ran to see Nanako and Soji. "Teddie! You can't just run people over!" Yosuke scolded the bear. This was turning rather crazy really fast, still in pain, he noticed some more people were showing up. Probably to spend time with Soji and Nanako.
He was pulled up by a punk looking boy. One word came to Cassim's mind, idiot. He didn't say it out loud, but he really thought that Kanji looked like a idiot and a punk. He let out a sigh when he was finally placed down only to be shoved aside when Resi ran to see Soji. "Sempia! I missed you so much! Did you miss me?!" She was still head over heels for him. Having enough of it, he left before he would get hurt again by a fangirl or by a rogue bear.
After finally getting back at the inn and back to his room, he started laughing on what just happened. It was actually fun, and he hoped to have more moment like this next year. For now though, it was time to go to sleep.

Quote: Submission By: [Gaia Name] Submission Title: Times Past Characters: Amonius and Seneca Text: Time.. Time heals all wounds they say..Yet, is it in the future that we seek, or in the past that these wounds may be mended? Memories flashed by at this, from a time long ago. The silver haired boy stood in front of a class, and bowed. "He..Hello! My name is Amonius Su.Sutaka!" he had called, bowing in front of the class. The class gave the usual generic greeting to him, but he could tell by looking at them...they had no interest in him. They'd moved into the small town with naught a care in the world...and He'd been there without a friend in the world as well. People gave him distrustful, and disapproving glares. He did his work for class, but every day, he would end up returning home without incident. To further isolate himself, he'd started to wear a pair of headphones his mother had bought, without even bothering with a music player. People didn't approach me...Didn't ask me for anything...And didn't care about me.....So, it's only fitting I didn't care about them... Days had passed...Weeks even without anyone to talk to..any friends to be had, or any moments worth recalling. And yet, it was on that one single day, that his whole life changed. It had been a trying morning, and he'd forgotten to bring his food from home. "Eh...I'll just go hungry today.." He'd said, idly speaking out loud as he slumped against his desk, feeling like the world was just having another attempt at distressing him. And yet... "Excuse me..Sutaka-kun, was it?" A voice from another kindred spirit...Someone else who didn't want to stand out. As if his life had been in eternal dusk, and she was his long awaited dawn. Though it started with just a shared meal, he eventually got to know the girl better. She had a beautiful red scarf, and such a sweet voice. She was kind-natured, and gentle...More so than he ever felt he deserved... And yet.... She always had some other students around her, that she spoke with every so often. People who gave him the same looks as everyone else..People who didn't acknowledge him as more than just a placeholder.. People who he felt were doing nothing but taking time away from his time with her. And yet, he could never bring himself to say things to them...Never open up to try to figure out of their intentions were pure, or as malicious as he guessed. The more things went on, the more precious and scarce his time with Seneca became..And one day... "D..Daidouji-san..I wanted to tell you..For the longest time.." "What is it, Sutaka-kun?" "D..Daidouji-san...Seneca-san, I love you! More than the stars in the sky, and the whole world combined! I want to spend my every waking moment by your side...I want you to be mine!" A heartfelt confession from the deepest reaches of his soul, and yet.. "Sutaka-kun...I'll...have to decline. Just like that, his world was shattered. "O..Oh...okay...then...That's..that's okay... He tried to assure her it was fine, but in his heart, he could tell that things were never quite going to be the same. He couldn't stop thinking about her, no matter how hard he tried to get over her. More and more, he felt anxious every time that red scarf came into view, and someone else spoke with her. Were they treating her well? Were they not? Had someone else caught her eye, or did she hope to catch someone else? The more he shadowed her, the more he worried...And the more he worried, the more he wanted to do something about it. Anything. And then, one day....He had. Something had compelled him to go above and beyond...To find the girl with the red scarf that shared his heart, and take her away from all of the trouble. Take her away from the anxieties of school, and all of the people inside of it. To take her away to safety...Something had compelled him that this was the right thing to do. To take her away, where she wouldn't have to deal with anything horrid ever again... He wanted to prove his feelings to her were genuine, and yet.... "Things are...never so simple.." Amon called to himself, leaning back as he looked outside the cell window. Snow had been falling, people were laughing...Lights were shining..... It was probably Christmas time.. A time to spend with significant others...With family...and with friends. The cold nipped at his body, but he didn't bother to cover up. The cell he was sitting in was anything but cozy, much like his life in general. And yet, as he closed his eyes, he couldn't do anything but think on the past times. Of what could have been.....Wondering if there was something he could have done to fix the situation... And of wondering if he'd ever see that red scarf again. Hear her voice... Or, even hear that she was okay. He'd been barred from knowing anything about her since the incident, and since none of her friends ever swung by to tell him...He'd never know. "Serves me right, I guess.." He called to himself, closing his eyes and pressing his hands together. "God...Santa....Whatever being will grant my wish...I beg of you...." Tears formed in the boy's eyes, as he let all of those memories well up, and overcome him for a few precious moments. "Please...All I want.....Is for Seneca Daidouji to be okay...." He didn't need to spend Christmas with her. He didn't need to share presents, relax by the fire, or even see her. He just wanted to know that she could do all of the things he could not... He wanted her to be able to live her life...With, or without him.

Quote: Submission By: Arena Emperor Submission Title: A Beating Heart is the Most Timeless Drum Characters: Makushima Touma and Sylphie Text: This whole town was one big, ******** bore. That was what he had discovered more than anything else since he had made his way out to the country to find his idiotic bandmates and drag their sorry asses back to the city. Wherever he went it was rice patties, cow patties, meat patties, every ******** kind of patty under the sun that he never wanted to waste his time on, he was waist-deep in them now. He couldn't stand it, the quiet that people seemed so damned enamored with in this backwoods hole in the wall, and wherever he went he was surrounded by the sounds. Chirping ******** crickets, distant children squealing in play, or the worse was the sound of nothing at all, silence throughout abandoned streets in a town already so quiet now hushed by the fear of the supernatural rumors and incidents that the area had become famous for. All-in-all, the drummer thought, Inaba was probably just about the worst ******** place on the face of the planet, and without a doubt, the most boring of them all. Just what in the Hell was it that made that poser Mishima, that sissy wannabe player Hageshii, and that oblivious a**-clown Kuniohara decide to come out here in the first place? You couldn't even fill a stadium in a place like this for a concert, and they were avoiding their work in the big city, the bright lights, the broads, the money, for this? Maybe they just didn't want to work, and he could get down with that. Still, they were the meal ticket that kept the money flowing through their band, and if they weren't in the studio practicing, it meant their ******** manager was going to be bothering him...until he put a boot to the guy's face and sent him back to the company empty handed, but still...it was a hassle he didn't need. Somebody needed to work to keep the 'Nyx' royalty money rolling in, and it sure as Hell wasn't going to be him. But coming out here to find them, this place? He almost...almost was ready to just say '******** it' and move on. He could get by for a few years doing whatever he felt like with what they had made so far, couldn't he? He could...but why should he have to stop at that? Why should he have to limit his clubbing, his drinking, his...well, everything? His tongue clucked as he plunked his feet up carelessly on the table of the club and waved the fat woman behind the bar over to refill his drink as he did.
In all the worthless, quiet trash he had to put up with in this town...this was a god damned oasis on Earth. This bar, a nighttime club which replaced the Shiroku Store when the lights went down and gave the adults of this hellhole a place to burn off some of their steam and drown a few of their sorrows. Not enough to make actually living in this place what you'd consider tolerable, but beggars couldn't be choosers. He could establish a real Pink Club after he'd settled his business with those runaway punks who'd left him alone back in the city...show this town what having a good time really meant. For now, however, he just wanted to drown out the crickets...the silence...get a nice handful of soft, feminine flesh and put a few burning ounces of hard liquor into his body to wash away the bad taste of that rotten ******** steak skewer he'd destroyed earlier in the afternoon. This town was the worst...the food was the worst, the easygoing people were the worst, this god damned club was the worst...they had only one hostess and she was rating about a negative 5 on a scale of 1-10. There was only girl in the entire fetid, filthy area that had even managed to turn his head since he'd been here, and she was little more than a smiling, fake piece of trash hiding from the real darkness within her in a way that he never, ever would. It pissed him off that he'd even taken a second look at her, and not thinking about her now was exactly what he intended to do. City girls...that's what was on his mind, nice and supple and compliant...fangirls who fawned over the 'Heartbeat of Nyx' as though he were the second coming of Jesus ******** Holy Christ. Who would do anything, say anything for him to simply let them bask in his presence...now that was what he really liked.
How had everything gotten so ********, in the first place? First Gin had vanished like a voice in the wind, and then Mikoto had gone after him for God knew what reason...as if Gin couldn't have been replaced by another pretty face with a decent voice (wasn't that Sensuke guy from that s**t band he could barely remember just as good?)! And then the wayward moron had disappeared without a word, wandering off to Timbuktu the way he had always been destined to do. Oh, how he hated him the most...but his leaving had put him in the position of being the only one left. No good...no good at all. He'd ******** kill the bastards, bring them back, and kick their asses until they started bringing the money back in. Did he care about 'Nyx', truly? Not really. But he used the money they earned more than any of the others could have dreamed. He lived it up...and he'd be damned if he let their whims put an end to that. And so he had come here...and that's when things got really ******** weird...
Green skies, yellow moon...black ******** monsters made of creepy ******** goop that he'd torn to pieces with his bare hands only to see them come back together like something out of a Shounen Manga nightmare. He had felt something growing inside of him that night, some...rage...some incarnation of how completely ******** angry everything had made him, and...then...
"Hey! There you are, Makushima! Do you know how long I've been looking for you?!"
Her...how in the...?! She had been the one to show up that night and throw him that gun...that evoker...she had been the one who tell him the truth about the ******** up world that this 'Supernatural Hotbed' truly had become. A pink-haired girl in a rage at the monster in front of her, burning so ******** hot that he'd had to double-take at the beautiful fire and hatred smoldering in her face. She looked like some kind of demoness possessed and bent like Hell upon the shadows...yes, that's what they were called, shadows...and the way she went at them was like a wild beast, tearing, clawing, wrapping her long tongue around that metal gun and pulling the trigger over and over until the black splatters sizzled and dispersed into nothing. And in that moment something had seemed...absolutely incredible about her. That anger, that rage, like nothing he had ever seen before...and then...like flipping a switch it was gone. She turned to him and with a caring glance she smiled, like nothing ever happened at all...was she insane?! The beautiful anger had faded into a sickening sweetness that made his lip curl in distaste...where had the fire GONE?! Was this mewling kitten really the fiery hellion he had just seen rip that monster apart until it was nothing but a ******** up memory? He all but growled when she saw him and spoke, extending her name to him as though they were already comrades or long-term friends. "Hi there, I'm..."
...
the young man scoffed as he put back a drink and felt the liquid slip down his neck, enjoying the burning flavor. He loved the heat, the burn, the warm buzz that came thereafter...but contrary to other lowlifes who couldn't hold their liquor, he never lost control. It was a talent, that. One he had and others didn't. He had no doubts if he put even a single glass of the hard stuff in front of this girl, she would be on her knees in tears before the night was over. Not that it mattered...he'd blown her off so sharply he had no doubt she would ditch him. That was how he wanted it...how it should be. So why was she still standing there when he glanced out of the corner of his eye staring at him, stomping over towards him with that look of anger not so unlike that night...aww, ******** it, "I said <********. OFF." He bit out angrily, sharply...slamming his glass onto the table as he put his seat down to face her properly in his chair. If she thought he wouldn't toss her a** out of the club himself...
And then, her hand smashed onto the top of the table like a drum and every eye in the place turned to her...which, since Touma had arrived, was about three sets of them. He had that effect on people. ...But her thunderous palm had gained even his attention for a moment, though he didn't blink at the impact like anyone else. This was interesting...
"A drinking contest! ...That's what you like to do, isn't it?" she demanded so suddenly and seriously and with such a look in her eye that he couldn't even begin to think she was joking, though the prospect was ridiculous enough on its own, "If I beat you in a drinking contest, you have to come back to the dorm! Agreed?!"
...Now that was unexpected. His eyebrow raised in surprise...she showed such fire, could she have really been thinking she could win?
"Are you ******** serious...?" He tried not to laugh as she nodded sternly, not blinking even once.
"Serious!" Now this was kind of pissing him off...
"But isn't she under-" His glare silenced the hostess in an instant.
"Serve the drinks and shut up. ...Why the ******** do you care about bringing me back, anyway? I don't give a s**t about your group. I sure as Hell don't care about you. And the shadows? They can suck my..." Her voice interrupted him sharply, and what she said was so audaciously stupid he was even taken aback.
"Isn't it obvious?! You're my friend!"
...What. The. ******** style="color: maroon">"...Tch...your funeral..."
* * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Above them, the Dark Hour had descended...and the night was wearing on. By the time they reached the station the green sky should have faded into something much more normal. In the end, he had known it would turn out this way, but for a few moments there as she was throwing back the tall glasses of liquor he'd almost...almost been convinced that the fire in those eyes would carry her against him right until the bitter end.
...He should have known when she started slurring her words after the first glass he'd end up carrying her home. And with the passed-out pinkette now perched piggyback with her arms over his shoulders, he wondered what in the ******** he was ever thinking when he had decided...despite his crushing victory...to make sure she made it all the way back to the dorm in Iwatodai. He might even go to the room they set up for him there that was never used and spend the night...
"Jesus, you're light...how the Hell does someone like you even fight against the shadows without snapping ******** in half the first time they hit you?" the drummer wondered aloud as the stars came out once more above their heads, the Yasoinaba Line becoming visible on the horizon. This girl was loud, naive, and a real ******** pain...but even knowing that, he found it really ******** hard to leave her laying there in the club the way he almost had. It was just something in those eyes...that fire...that anger...that reminded him so much of someone like... "I told you that wasn't your scene, girl. Next time know your ******** limit and go home. Don't waste my time like this..." He grumbled, cursed, and as they finally came to sit on the train, her pink hair fell onto his shoulder as light snores escaped her. Bloody revenge...that was what he would have on her when she woke up in the morning. And each and every member of his ******** band for putting him here...that ******** Yuuya most of all. Oh yes, he'd get them all then...
...And he had a whole train-ride now to plan it. He didn't know why he was here...but he knew he'd make them pay for it. Shadows, SEES-2, ******** it. They didn't mean s**t to him. None of it did. That much he knew without question. And yet...this girl, those eyes, that ferocity within her that she only showed in front of them...of all things, that was something he wouldn't mind seeing again. Not that he could stomach the girl otherwise. Rather, she kind of pissed him off as much or more than anyone in that shitty dorm. Really pissed him off...
...But Sylphie's head never left his shoulder, the whole way home.
