Personality: Nelli has always been a social butterfly. She loves mingling with others and going to large meet ups. She's totally into convention, cosplay and the Lolita lifestyle. She loves being around people and is genuinely interested in other's thoughts and feelings. Because of her lifestyle, Nel always tries to keep an air of doll like cuteness and grace. She prefers to take things gradually rather than rushing headlong into something completely unprepared. Nel will happily put the hours in to do research on something rather than spontaneously leaping into action. She is a patient girl that doesn't mind sitting still for hours and working on one project if that's what's called for.

Personal History: Nelli grew up out in the country on a large farm. Several members of her family live on the property, including aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents along with her mother, father, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Because she's always been surrounded by people Nelli isn't in the least bit shy. Sometimes she and her sisters and female cousins all had to share one bath or shower, so she doesn't mind the closeness of other people.

Like all the girls on the farm, Nel was taught not to waste anything and how to sew, cook and generally be a good housewife. When she was 11, Nel was searching online for new ideas for clothes to sew and came across a page on Lolita culture. She found she loved the freedom of expression the lifestyle offered and became a dedicated Lolita ever since. Not wanting to limit herself, Nel will wear any Lolita style depending on her mood.

While working hard on the farm, Nel also took odd jobs working in local stores or the tailors' shop. As much as she loved being around her family Nel really wanted something more. She wanted to move to the big city where people regularly did fashion meet ups and where she would have infinitely more access to boutiques and trendy cafes.

After studying hard and saving up, Nel was finally able to earn a transfer to an elite high school in Crystal Tokyo at the age of 16. A couple years later, she tested into her first choice of university where she studies fashion design and jewel craft. She currently works at Bunilla Boutique, a Lolita and cosplay shop where she makes extra money selling accessories and jewelry that she hand makes.

About the Senshi

Fuku:
Her fuku is in various shades of gold and brown with splashes of navy blue. Her chest and back bow are both brown. She has long cape-like sleeves on either arm that start off brown and fade to gold that have small flowers embroidered on the top. Her fuku skirt is golden and has a navy blue petticoat, a reminder of her Lolita lifestyle. The sailor collar is also mostly navy blue, though it is lined in gold. She has platform boots, also a nod to her choice of fashion.
Transformation:
After calling out "Topaz Mineral Power, Make Up!" her topaz pendant (which she always wears under all her clothes) begins to glow brightly. A torrent of light swirls around her feet and from that glowing circle two halos of gold form and begin rotating rapidly around her. Bits of the halos break off into sparkling lights, which randomly affix to parts of her body forming her battle fuku until she is fully transformed.

Abilities: Nelli's topaz stone pendant allows her to see the truth of something by looking through it. The stronger the spell, the more energy is required to for her to use the stone and break the illusion. She also has a natural sort of sixth sense when people lie to her. While she can't necessarily tell exactly what's wrong, she will get feelings when someone isn't being honest or something is "off".

Powers:

"Clarity of Daylight! Dispel!" An extension of her truth seeing through the topaz stone. Can break illusions (such as destroying a youma's human disguise or revealing a hidden door if she senses the energy). Depending on the strength of the illusion, Nelli may or may not be able to reveal the truth, or it could drain her to a point of passing out.

"Reveal your intentions! Weight of Truth!" A holding spell that only works on someone who has dishonest/evil intentions. The more "dark" the being is, the stronger the hold. Drains a considerable amount of energy the longer Nel is required to hold it as well being considerably harder to hold for extremely strong beings.

"Alter your reality! Gravity Manipulation!" A skill that is still in its infancy. Nel can do an area effect spell that allows her to lower or increase gravity. She can cast it around herself allowing her to jump higher, or cast it on a heavy barrier so it might be pushed/moved. Nel hopes she'll eventually be able to use it to learn to fly, but that's a long way off (assuming it's even possible).

Sailor History: Nel found her Topaz Pendant when she was only 5 years old. She was helping clean out the attic of one of the guest homes on the farm when she found a dusty velvet box underneath a loose floor board. No one in her family knew whose it was, but Nelli was extremely attached to it the moment she picked it up. Her family has always been the type to work together and not against each other, so no one protested when the little girl begged to keep it. Her mamma put it on a gold chain for her and Nel has never taken it off since.

Nelli first learned of her senshi powers shortly after moving to Crystal Tokyo. She was walking home from work very late at night when a man approached her. He told her that he'd seen her in the shop earlier and wanted to ask her some questions. Nel wasn't sure why, but she felt cold and afraid, as if there was something "wrong" about the man.

After she refused to answer him and asked him to visit the shop tomorrow, she tried to move away but he snatched her arm. Immediately her Topaz Pendant began glowing and, still on the chain around her neck, floated up in front of her eye. Through the stone she could see the man was not human at all, but some kind of monster or demon.

The fear that surged through her activated her transformation and thus, Sailor Topaz first appeared. The youma's features twisted as he tried to attack her but Nel screamed throwing her hands in front of her and letting out a burst of gravity magic. It completely crushed the creature, turning it back into wispy dark energy. The energy drain on Nel was so intense that she instantly fell out of her transformation and passed out right there in the alley. She was found and taken to a hospital, where she blamed it on exhaustion from college and long hours at work.

Afterwards, Nel slowly experimented with transforming and working with her powers. She's had no formal training, but knows there must be a reason she can do these things. She's spent the last 3 years quietly searching for answers, unsure of where exactly to turn for advice.
