Appearance: Wen is a tiny slip of a thing. At 5’2’’ he is on the shorter side, and he is small and dainty boned which makes him seem a tad shorter then he truly is. His hair is white blond and fine, making it difficult to notice that he does have hair until it long enough to need trimming. His eyes are grey blue, pale in color, and with fine eyelashes. Wen was blessed with good skin, which tans golden during the spring, summer, and fall months and slowly pales during winter. He has a lot of speed and flexibility though he struggles at more physical tasks.

Personality: Wen is smart with a deep drive to obtain knowledge and a love for books. It not unusual to find him debating something with Cai while Jemi watches. There is quite a bit of ambition and an iron sense of will and more of a quiet thoughtfulness shoring up a loyal front.

Wen wants to go places, being a candidate opened up the world of books and histories and having wings would allow him to travel in blinks of an eye and he wants that. He wants to see the world and at heart, wants to make accurate maps of Pern from dragon back. He knows he wants to fly. He just hasn’t found a partner yet. He doesn’t see his lack of height as a weakness, and has dug in his heels to prove he has every right to seek his dream.

Wen, until he has something to say, is quiet. He isn’t loud, voice level even during debates but in all he is not even a loud person. He is silent on his feet, moves in a sort of sedated grace, and is most at ease at not being the center of attention. When he does speak, it is noticeable, firm and audible, and can carry a slight hint of sarcasm. He tends to blend in, almost a shadow next to both is significant others. Cai is fiery, sure, and determined to be right and Jemi is tall, broad, and has a bit of a temper.

There is mischief, and a bit of underhandedness. Life is not fair and Wen knows his slight frame is setting him behind. Sometimes a bit of trickery is needed to keep things on level terms and Wen isn’t afraid to get a little dirty to get what he needs. Being short does have a few advantages, such as being at the height to easier box someone’s kidneys and perhaps he stomped on a few people insoles to win a match or kicked someone’s shoes under their bed when leaving to class. Or figured out a few shortcuts to get to place to place and longer routes and maybe if someone mocked his significant others he might have mixed up a shortcut with a long pass route. Oops, don’t mock his Jemi and Cai.



History: Wehren is an only child, his mother died during the civil war and his father ended up lost, toting a toddler about he knows now if Jemi’s father hadn’t taken them in, he would probably not be here today. Wen and Jemi became firm friends and worked well together to keep the ranch safe.

Cai was a surprise, they got along well though both could be stubborn. When the idea of standing for a search came about, Wen saw it as an opportunity for a better life. His father was doing well and he wasn’t sure if being a ranch hand fitted him.

Being searched really spurred his ambitions to do more. He struggled through boot camp but enjoyed the literacy half. Wen is pushing himself to learn more and to make his small size work for him. He might not be built for sword work, but he thinks he could manage a pair of dirks.

Jemi had always been a close friend, Cai had come later and as things started to turn from friends to something more, as Cai started to shift, Wen found himself wondering if he was supposed to choose or just love them both, male, female, they were Jemi and Cai and he does love them dearly.

Things have certainly been exciting, with the last tiny clutch being ill and the sire of the most current clutch being a blue and Wen secretly hopes that he might impress this hatching around. Blues are the underdogs and he certainly is one and he wants this clutch to show everyone that no matter what color, or how small, they are certainly worth it.

Jemi and Cai impressed! Wen is over the moon about his two significant others making it, even if he has been left behind for another year or so. It is certainly quieter and he has been keeping his head down a bit more. Sereth clutched and he intrigue since Sereth showed a side that he hadn’t expected to see in the flight. Cai certainly is displeased at the flight, considering the amount of ichor spilled but he is open to have a tiny bonded.

This is a promising start, but we’d like to know a little bit more about Wen. As a candidate, the more we have about his personality, the easier it’ll be for us to match him to a dragon at some point in the future.

It might help if you checked out the sources and resources in the information forum, and had a look at some of the character worksheets. What might be great is if you think about him in terms of positive/negative traits and how they impact on one another - how does his intelligence feed into his tendency for trickery? You mention that he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty - how so? What sort of things has he done in the past? How far does his loyalty extend, and who does he extend it to? Is there a particular wing he wants to go into? Remember, the more detail and thought you put in, the easier it will be for us to match him up!
