Samantha looked out the window from the confines of the bed she was in, hands clasped together, wondering where Erika - if that even was her name - was at that moment. She sighed heavily. She trusted her, and what did she get in return? Shot. Shot by the woman who she'd become closer to than anyone on the force. Was everything you told me just a lie, Erika? The thought made a wave of nausea roll over her.
She was a fool.

"Good morning," came a soft and warm voice, accompanied by a knock on the door.
Aminah Murad, a young healer around the age of 24, stood inside the doorway to Samantha's room. She flashed a smile over at the rookie officer's direction, which was followed by a small wave. Unlike the other hospital staff, she did not wear any scrubs or a doctor's coat. In fact, she didn't wear a uniform of any kind; just normal clothes like the average person would wear. Beside her was a tiny water-type pokemon, a Piplup, with a beatiful sparkling coat. He beamed up and Samantha and waved his flipper happily.
"The doctor's told me you were shot in action," Aminah went on to say, taking this opportunity to walk into the patient's room. Swell the Piplup obediently followed along side his trainer, only to gently hop up on the bed and join Samantha. Without much warning, he scooted up to the injured officer and gave her some affectionate cuddles. "They are allowing me to come in and provide you with some therapy for any pain that you might have. Are you in any pain?" The healer then paused, chuckled some, and ran a hand through her hair sheepishly. "I can provide hydrotherapy, thermotherapy, and aromatherapy to you, as well as a combination of two or all three together, should you so choose. But it's entirely up to you."
She then grew silent after that while waiting for a response. She could decline therapy all together, as some folks often did. They didn't want to be bothered by this person or that person after being poked and prodded with needles or after having surgeries or various tests done, so she could understand if Samantha wanted nothing to do with her. Still -- it was the right thing to do, offering her services, especially when she was in pain and probably scared or sad.

Samantha turned to face the newcomer and smiled meekly. "Hello." She listened quietly as Aminah explained her intentions, grimacing shortly at the mention of being shot. Petting the piplup quietly, she closed her eyes. "I must confess, I don't quite know what much of those entail." Opening her eyes again, she looked up at the healer. "What would you suggest, Miss...?"

Miss was such a formal title. Aminah couldn't help but chuckle, waving her hand dismissively at Samantha as she sat in her bed. "Just Aminah is fine," she told her. "Miss is too formal." She then paused for a moment, pondering what sort of therapies to suggest. It was a tough call to make, going with just one of them, or a combination of some sort. "I think all three might benefit you, in all honestly. It will feel as if you're in a hot tub or a hot spring, and by the time you're done, you'll feel relaxed and ready to take a nice nap."

Sam smiled as she closed her eyes. "That sounds lovely, Aminah. Thank you." She could certainly use the relaxation, given the thoughts that even now raced through her mind. She should be out there, helping to look for Erika, not stuck in bed.
