Welcome to Rattlesnake Downs

Rattlesnake Downs is a stable situated on the edge of a desert and a lone river that cuts through it. This area is home to a plethera of desert wildlife, yes including rattlesnakes. It is also a lovely place to house thoroughbreds. The ranch receives plenty of clean drinking water from the rivers with enough left over to irrigate nearby fields to provide fodder and space for the horses to roam and be trained in.

Personality:
The founder of Rattlesnake Downs Coyote Wind will always have a special place in the heart of the stable. He has a mostly calm personality which seems to get more sulky if there is rain. Favorite treat is carrots, and unattended cheese sandwiches. We don't know why. Coyote is clever like his namesake and he is perfectly capable of unlatching his gate if the tie is not used on a boring day. When he does get out he sometimes grazes right in front of the ranch house window..so perhaps not so smart. Sometimes we leave him out there cause well he is a beautiful sight and we always close the perimeter gate anyway. He has never tried to get out of there, the grass is definitely greener on the inside.

Personality: Caustic Sunshine is a bit high strung and hyper...if he is on the ranch you know about it, he has no qualms about trumpeting his presence..to mares, other stallions, people...squirrels. He is the boss! Or so he likes to think. He likes to scare the crap out of the grooms by hiding then sticking his head out of the stall, he doesn't bite me, and has never done so to the grooms but that could be because of their reaction time. He is very much a one person horse. Therefore he is the only horse who solely gets groomed by yours truly.

Personality: Hyper and curious he is like a little cream tornado on the farm he takes great delight in teasing the other stallions. Over all he is very sweet to people. Although his race results at the moment are a little less then stellar we hope that he is a long distance horse and that 6 furlongs is just too short for him. Keep an eye out for this boy in the longer races.

Personality: A fiery mare under saddle but very polite otherwise. She came to Rattlesnake Downs from a claiming race in which she won second. Thrilled with her new, talented aquisistion Rannon placed her in Vermillion's care. They decided to breed her to Caustic Sunshine. Monzon likes to munch on cereal and grains and is unusually delighted with baths.
