"I would like some Earl Grey tea, please." Clinging to the few coins left in his pocket, he decided to stick with the tea and not purchase any food. He slumped into one of the chairs, hanging his head low. He was beginning to wonder if he had made the right decision when he quit his job. What could a healer do that wasn't healing related? He had his mindlink ability, but when could that come in handy? Still, this was his only chance to make it out into the world and see what wonders it had to offer. Perhaps he could open up a healing center in the beautiful city of Lohrith? Or see the androids of Drowwood? Elain stepped through the door to The Corner Heart before making her way quickly to the counter. "A bagel and cream cheese and a coffee please."
Placing her money on the counter she looked around and spied Akito sitting in one of the restaurant's chairs. Tapping her lip Elaine weaved her way over to Akito. Once she reached him she tapped on his table and asked "Got room for one more?"

Akito stirred absentmindedly at his tea, which was still too hot to take a sip out of. He held his head with his right arm and twirled the spoon with his left.
As he sat there puzzling over what he was going to do with his life, a familiar voice cut off his train of thought. He looked up to find Elain standing over his table. Quickly, he sat up straight and gave a welcoming smile. "There's plenty of room," He said warmly. "How's life been treating you?"

Elain slips into the seat across from Akito."Life is treating me well. How about you?"
She smiles at her table mate, and old colleague/intern, before a small frown crosses her face. "Are you hungry? Your looking a little thin to me."
lost in thought she absentmindedly stirs a teaspoon of salt into her coffee, then takes a sip, nearly choking as she realizes just what she added to her cup. Elain waves a hand infront of her face, tears gathering at the corners of her eyes as she rapidly blinks. "I think i'm gonna get me a new cup, want anything?"

"It's had it's ups and downs, but it has been getting better." Elain's kindness was always much appreciated. "I'm not all that hun-" his voice drifted off as he watched her spoon salt into her coffee. "That's-" It was too late to stop her. Akito held back his laughter as much as he possibly could. She fanned her face as tears welled up in her eyes. He felt bad for finding this funny, especially since Elain was such a nice person. "Perhaps you should get something with sugar already added in." He teased. "I should be fine. I have my tea with me, but I appreciate the offer. I'm sorry about the coffee."

Elain smiles down at Akito. Shrugging her shoulders she heads over to the counter, "If you'er sure? Also that is a good idea, thank you Akito."
Upon reaching the counter she orders, "A coffee with sugar please?"
Elain receives her coffee the hustles over to Akito, not wanting to leave him sitting alone for to long. She slides back into her seat and tests her coffee. Just right. "Well that was entertaining. I saw you laughing, don't try to hide it. At least one of us got some joy out of that salty cup."
Elain pulls her bagel in half and slides the cream cheese packet toward her with the knife. "How's the job hunt going?

Akito waited for Elain at the table as she picked up her order. He took a long sip of his tea before realizing how empty he cup was already. He had finished the tea before mentally preparing himself for the last sip. He didn't have money for more tea, but he didn't want to ask Elain to buy him some either. He carefully pushed the cup to the side, next to the salty coffee.
Elain slid back into her seat before too long. "I'm sorry, that was awful of me." He said in an effort to be polite. "I've been turned down by four places so far. Apparently I lack the proper set of skill to do much of anything other than what I've been doing. Perhaps I've made a mistake." He said, slumping over the table with his hands in his face.

Elain set down her knife and bagel before steeping her fingers together and staring at Akito over them. “Do you think you did something wrong, made a "mistake"?”
She flapped her hands apart before motioning toward him and leaning back in her seat, “You are good at what you do. Healing, Mindlinking, both are useful thing in this world, but the question you should probably ask yourself is “What exactly do I want for myself?” So my question for you is “What is the job you want?” In the meantime my doors are always open to old interns who need a little extra cash, just so you are aware.”
Elain leans forward again, grabbing the knife and cream cheese packet and scooping a healthy dose onto her knife. As she spreads the cheese on her bagel she watches Akito’s reaction to her last statement, not bothering to hide her small smile.

"I don't know what I want." He replied, straightening his posture. "I haven't seen enough of the world to know. I haven't had the experiences necessary to gain preference. I suppose what I'm really looking for is to know. I want to find my calling, do what's right for me. But I don't know where to start". He let out a sigh. Forgetting for a moment that his tea had been finished, he reached for his cup to help calm himself down. Blindly, he took a small sip of the hot brown liquid.
Salty coffee.
Akito sat there frozen for a good minute, not even putting the cup down. Finally, he swallowed hard and forced his face into a disgusted scowl. "Say nothing" He said, putting the cup down and scooting it aside. "I'll stay at Angela Merici Community Center for now. You don't have to pay me, and I would prefer you didn't. I need the motivation to explore. It's so easy to use stability as a crutch. That's why so few people ever truly accomplish their dreams..." He looked around at all of the souls rushing about the restaurant desperate for their coffee, and then back at Elain. "Thank you. You didn't have to help me, but you did. I appreciate it"

Elain nodded along to Akito’s words, they made sense. Find his calling huh, well she didn’t mind him using the Community Center as a stepping stone, others before him have and others after him would. “Talk to people who come in, they might have some ideas you could build on. Hell your next good job might walk in through the front doors with a busted finger.”
As Akito reached for his cup Elain reached for her cup as well. She paused as Akito took a drink and frowned. What did she do with the salty cup of coffee? Akito froze across from her, her only thought was “There it is. There’s the salty cup of coffee.”
Quickly she drank her coffee to disguise her laughter and promptly choked a little on the hot beverage. Tears streamed from her eyes as she nodded to Akito’s request, coughing into her hand. She gave a watery smile as Akito thanked her and gave his request of no pay. Breathing deeply Elain made her request, “Fine I won’t pay you, but would you join the group for dinner? We have a team eat out every two to three days, it’s not mandatory but I would appreciate it if you could come with us.”

Akito made a face at Elain's disguised laughter. He looked a little more comforted with her response to his request for no pay. His face went from stressed and worn to relieved and happy. "Thank you. That's all I needed to hear. Thank you so much. I would love to join your group for dinner. When's the next meeting?" He said, standing up to prepare to leave, straightening his coat.
