Personality: Jubaku is a completely duty-bound individual who puts his work before everything else, even personal relationships. He is the kind of man who is unwavering in his loyalty to his friends and to his duty. He is a composed and intelligent leader who is capable of making difficult decisions in the instant that they are needed. He has a commanding presence in front of his subordinates and fellow Captains during which he often says things that are completely blunt and to the point regardless if anyone's feelings might be hurt in the process.
He has a kind and compassionate side as well which gives him the great gift of listening to the problems of others and always having helpful advice or suggestions to offer them. It is this side of him that often makes his closer subordinates and colleagues look to him as a father-figure or teacher. However, Jubaku is not the kind of individual who is capable of building relationships with just anyone. He has a unique character flaw of having a fear of opening up to people, which often causes him to come off as being rather blunt and cold to others. His character flaw does, however, have a good point in that with the handful of relationships that he does make, he will often express a deep level of feelings and emotions in those few individuals.
History: Jubaku was born in a small area outside of the Soul Society's protection and from a very young age he had a considerable level of reiatsu, but what separated him from others was his natural aptitude at controlling it all the while not needing significant training at all. When he was an early teenager, he experienced the feeling of loss for the first time having lost his family to the ever more deplorable conditions of the Rukongai. He was forced to leave and began to wander with little hope that he would ever see the next day. He traveled from outskirt to outskirt within the Rukongai for the next few years wandering aimlessly with what to do with his life after the great loss of his family.
After having ample time to ponder over what to do next, he one day past by a lone Shinigami that had survived the war practicing with his Zanpakuto alone. The dedication and commitment the Shinigami put forth into his training was an inspiration to Jubaku. He saw in the man the strength and determination he wanted so desperately in order to keep on living. He never once said a word to the the man as he watched him, but still admired him greatly. It was from that day on that he would devote himself to learning the ways of the Shinigami. It was during this time that Jubaku's natural talents really stood out. His affinity for the sword allowed him to master the basics of it in no less than a couple of months and, while his Kido skills were rough around the edges, he soon polished his skills and mastered their basics as well.
Jubaku was soon found a place within the squads of the Seireitei where he quickly climbed to the position of 4th seat officer. After several long and painstaking months, he was transferred out of his squad and into the ranks of another squad where he took the 3rd Seat officer position. Jubaku eventually found his own place as Captain when his Captain deemed he was finally ready to commence with the Captain's exam. It was during this time as Captain that Jubaku would dedicate to teaching and training other future promising Shinigami so that they could also devote themselves to a cause that they believed in, ready to keep the long sought after peace that many sought after and were willing to risk their lives for. He began teaching at the Academy as an instructor and he remains there to this day.

Zanpakuto Information
Name: Zankoku (Harshness)
Sealed Appearance: In it's sealed form it appears to be a slender jet black katana. It's tsuba is comprised of three single wisp-like shapes that connect in a circle.
Spirit Appearance: Zankoku
Release Command: "Fade, Zankoku."
Shikai Appearance: A large headsman-style poleaxe with a large guillotine-shaped blade on one side, a large, squared hammer extension on the other side of the shaft and a large, slender spike between the two at the top of the pole. The tattered cloth from the sealed form carries over as it now appears tied right below the base of the large axe head and tied in the same way that separates it into one long piece and one slightly shorter piece.
Shikai Techniques/Abilities The main ability uses Jubaku's reiatsu reserves to create giant bursts of bluish, fiery energy from the hammer side of the poleaxe as the hammer side opens up to create a type of accelerator that can increase Jubaku's attack power and cutting force or propel Jubaku towards objects or people at high speeds.
Touei (Flickering Light) - The stored energy in the accelerator on the back of the pole is directed into the axe head where it is stored until Jubaku releases it from the spike atop the axe in a solid pillar-shaped beam of light-based reiatsu that is capable of being widened to a point where it can raze building to the ground or narrowed to the thickness equivalent to a head of a needle for penetrating the strongest defenses and wounding or killing enemies with pin-point accuracy. The beam has varying levels of strength and firing speed depending on how long it has been charged. Short charges allow for small, rapid attacks that are much weaker in strength compared to a much longer charge that gives the attack immeasurable destructive power and range. At max charge, or [3] posts, the beam can go up a maximum of 1.5 miles, or essentially the distance it takes to go to the horizon or the edge of Jubaku's vision. The beam itself can be adjusted to the width of 0.6 centimeters, essentially a pencil, for precision or to the enormous width of 40 meters which is your average size apartment complex.
Kasokuundou (Accelerated Motion) - Jubaku's signature shikai attack that involves a full head-on assault using his axe's accelerator. The cutting force of this attack is enough to cut hard metal with such force that the metal literally rips itself apart by the sheer force of the cut rather than the act of cutting it. It looks as if the attack cuts right through something without actually touching it when, in reality, the force of the cut is actually ripping apart what's right in front the blade as the blade passes through or over something.
Rending Claw - An attack that utilizes the accelerator's charging function. Jubaku begins to charge the accelerator as he holds the axe behind him in a strike-ready position. As he charges the accelerator, instead of using it to create a massive speed boost for his attacks and himself, the energy is transferred into the axehead where it is released when Jubaku swings the axe upwards over the ground creating three crescent-shaped bursts of reiatsu that rend the ground as they surge towards the opponent creating a claw-like mark in the ground behind them before finally exploding with massive force upon contact. This attack does not require Jubaku to be stationary and its strength and distance will vary depending on how long the charge is.

Bankai Techniques/Abilities Jubaku's Bankai gives him the unique ability to phase through solid objects as well as a nightmarish boost in his speed and strength. As he phases, the area around the part of his body that is phasing through an object is outlined by a silhouette of the blue fire, or Soulfire. This ability has limits however. Jubaku can only phase through solid objects if he is in direct contact with a physical area, such as the ground or a wall. If he can phase his entire body through a solid object, he can only stay phased in it as long as he can hold his breath. Since Jubaku can only phase through solid objects while reiatsu based attacks, such as Cero and Kido, can touch him being ethereal in natural themselves. His Bankai also manifests itself in the form of a pure, geometric-style reiatsu axe head made entirely of yellow-colored, light-based reiatsu. When not in use, the ethereal axe head disperses and only the jet black pole of the axe is left. The empty pole is what normally manifests when Jubaku goes into Bankai. The axe head itself weighs practically nothing and can phase with Jubaku since it is also a part of his Bankai, hence a part of himself.
Fading Umbra - An attack that involves Jubaku's phasing ability in which Jubaku phases his entire body into the ground for a time to launch surprise attacks and evade incoming attacks. It can be used both offensively and defensively, but the downside is that while he is phased into a surface, his shadow with appear on the flat surface and move with him in a ghostly manner, which can easily give away his position when moving from one surface to another. This attack requires that Jubaku have all of the requirements to phase and is restricted for the amount of time he can stay phased by the amount of time he can hold his breath which is represented by 2 to 7 posts depending on how exhausted he is and how much spiritual energy he has used.
Final Revenant - The pure reiatsu axehead splits into three spiral-shaped disks of consecutive size being one larger than the next. These disks have a black, metal structure spiraling out from their center and the same bluish, fire-based reiatsu following along that same pattern to create a complete spiral shaped disk that resembles a hinotama. These disks can be used to attack an opponent from different directions using rieatsu-based beams of energy that resemble lasers that are much like Touei from his Shikai, but without the massive charge time and can be fired in rapid succession giving Jubaku a greater range of attacks to choose from when approaching a situation. Their main function however shows itself when Jubaku's pole for his axe splits into tiny pieces and covers his arms and legs in a black kind of armor giving him greater offensive power when Jubaku uses the accelerator function of the disks to increase his speed exponentially and begins to use various forms of hand-to-hand combat. When not in use, they normally orbit around Jubaku in a specific pattern of largest to smallest with the smallest being the furthest from him and their orbits only intersect directly in front of Jubaku with only an inch or so between them as they pass over one another this being when Jubaku chooses not to use his normal axe form. These disks can also release a continuous or sudden burst of Soulfire that resembles the accelerator from Jubaku's Shikai. These bursts vary in strength depending on the disk they are coming from. If placed behind Jubaku, these disks can act as another kind of accelerator giving him more mobility with less weight while maintaining the raw speed and power like his Shikai.
Bakekyu Zessho (Spirit-Seeking Finishing Thrust) - Jubaku's most destructive and damaging attack while in Bankai and his Bankai's signature attack. The ethereal axe head becomes five times longer and wider than normal as Jubaku supercharges it which increases its range and cutting force. This attack is executed by knocking the opponent into the area and then jumping up after him where Jubaku performs a full-force downward slash that accumulates damage by dragging the opponent down with it until slamming them into the ground with colossal force and power.
Other Information
Jubaku usually carries a cane with him at all times. This cane is very special and exceedingly sturdy and strong. He can and will use it as a weapon for more non-lethal strikes. Jubaku himself does have quite a few hobbies which include but are not limited to: Gardening, making pipe tobacco, Cooking, and games of all kinds.
