Lamia's LairShe gasped and rolled her eyes at the obvious lie, as if Zien's false truth was poison to her eyes and made her flinch. Though she had to admit the spectacle of seeing the elemental get all flustered and bothered was enthralling. She could have begged him to charge some more sparks or throw a rock or two if it weren't for the current situation. "But you obviously don't understand - I
always get what I want, and I know you're lying!" Lamia unfurled her whip from her side, its length dangling and curling along the grass like a venomous snake, "you know I've not tested this since I put the Dagger of Power's blade at it's tip..." she teased.
Karuso however was hissing as Zien tried to carefully change his grasp, he felt the soft touch of Zien's hand on the hilt of the blade, he wanted to yell at him to remove it, but it would cause more bleeding even he knew that, but he would do anything to stop the pain. He knew what he had to do, knew what he wanted, what he thirsted for but not now - not here. The memory of Zien's boiling blood running down his mouth and into his veins was the only thing stopping him from giving up.
Zoltan watched carefully, his eyes were like daggers following every slight movement of the pendant - then his eyes narrowed on the same spot as it had the last five times. Gritting his teeth together and pulling his hands into fists caused several maps on the edges of the table to crunch and fold. "We're.... leaving" he whispered through his clenched teeth. He raised an arm and to the side opened a black portal, it tore through the reality of time and space and once alive it whispered to them, begging them to walk in. With the image of the map and the supposed location in his head he pushed away from the table with such a force that it moved across the floor a few inches. He didn't stop before the portal, he walked in immediately.
"GIVE ME THE-" Lamia couldn't finish, the sound of space and time ripping itself open interrupted her, she followed the sound and was whipping her head over her shoulder. Not far from them was a black abyss the shape of a standing oval, it swirled and whispered, a darkness reaching out to them. Lamia scowled, it was not often she didn't know what was happening and she didn't enjoy it even now. From it emerged two figures, both darkly dressed, one with tan skin the other with pale to mirror his jet black hair. He looked tired, whilst the other one looked like a mixture of satisfaction and confusion. Lamia turned to face both Zien and the newcomers, forming a triangle out of the three pairings. "Are you a rescue party?" Lamia irked, but Zoltan blinked, as if dazed, "a
rescue party?" he asked, looking to Dorian, baffled. But then Dorian's pendant caught Zoltan's eye, like a sparkle in the corner of his vision as it suddenly began to raise and point directly at Lamia. He whipped his gaze at her, and there was a moment of realisation like a gun shot. "You have... the book..." he said, to which Lamia scowled again, "what- no, they have-" she was gesturing at Zien and Karuso, but the same realsation hit her too. She blinked once, her eyes turned red and her demonic vision that she used to hunt down the items began to play at her vision. Through it, all she could see was a bloody crimson glowing from the two nameless figures in black. she blinked again and completely turned away from Zien, "I'll deal with you later" was all she had to say about it. For now, her attention was turned to Zoltan. "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" she cooed, her old antics of wit and charm up to scratch as ever before. Zoltan smiled, much of his better judgement was gone from countless hours frstrating himself over this damned thing, and now he could have it! But he surprised even himself, explaining "you take me for a fool if you think I'll summon it in the open". But the witch had only one answer as she looked from Zoltan to Dorian in one slow, smooth motion.
"You would be a fool not to"
Karuso could barely hear the commotion, he was trying to speak, but all he could manage was "Wh-o... wha-tskk- Z-Zien, p-ple...ease..." as he stared into his orange eyes. Karuso knew Lamia had been distracted, and truth be told - he wanted to get out of here, he wanted to survive.
And then suddenly, as if by magic, Lamia, Zoltan, Dorian and Euphemia were gone. Lamia, with her Diadem, summoned a magnitude of magic to transport the four of them with the blink of an eye to another cliff she saw far off into the horizon. Karuso and Zien's home was further than the eye could see, and the four of them were alone.
((Okay, i've split everyone up now, Zien and Karuso alone at home, us lot elsewhere, i'll quote you guys in my next post in the new area. You guys can reply to this in this thread. And you love me really Nemo :3 But one question, do you think I could break my habit of not truly killing off a character?.. but which will it be? muhahahha))
