I don't go on dates with people I don't already know very well. So I don't know how to help with this. Usually if someone asks me why I am vegetarian I tell them of the health issue I have with eating meat. It's not extensive but it does explain the issue. That or I ask them "why do you eat meat?" If their answer is "because it tastes good" then that's as far as our friendship goes. Harsh perhaps but I find it easier then starting a war about diets. That's a good way to do it. Haha, I've had meateater friends slowly become vegetarian and pescetarian after a lot of time (and me rubbing off on them? who knows). But I think walking away is good, then there's more time to support your vegan friends
