Age: 309, appears as late-30s/early 40s.
Race: Shinigami
Affiliation: Gotei 13, Wakahisa Labs
Position/Rank: Captain
Fears: Finding out if her husband had become a hollow.
Personality: Ritsuko is sometimes described to have a split personality, but she says it is not like that. Ritsuko simply has a business persona, and then her off-the-job persona, but a mix of both during a battle. When doing research and dealing with her business, she can be tough on those around her, while also very reinforcing. Some have liked her business self to being motherly; firm when need be, but nice for the most part.
When off the job, she is a pretty relaxed person, and even will invite others to drinking -- sometimes tea, sometimes sake. During this, she is very much so a joker. She loves to hear jokes off the job, even taking pranks like the best of them.
During battle, she is protective over those around her, but likes to play with her adversary. She loves to lull a target into believing they have understood her powers, found out how she moves, attacks, parries, blocks, and everything else. Then, she will enlighten them to their mistakes with changing her style of fighting.
History:
___In the early days of Ritsuko's youth, she was married off to a rather wealthy clan. She didn't know how to perceive this engagement. She was only 12 at the time. Soon, she actually warmed up to the boy, and she was accepting of their marriage. Unlike most clans of their time, they did not treat women badly, but placed them as equal. This also meant that is the men had to fight for a cause, the women would fight with them. So, Ritsuko was taught minor hand-to-hand, and taught how to use a Nodachi. Her husband was her primary trainer, and this made them bond ever-more.
One thing she never understood about her husband was when he would stare at an object not there, and would whisper to it. The truth was that her husband could see spirits of those passed. He watched over these spirits from time to time. That would be the cause of the Clan's demise. He did not realize by continually watched over a spirit, he had undeniably set in forth the worst of fates; it would turn into a Hollow. The spirit rampaged through the House, killing everything it saw, and the last was that of Ritsuko and Kirito.
Kirito tried to reason with the beast, but the Hollow was trapped within itself. Kirito would be struck down by the beast before it realized what it had become. It pulled back in anguish, seeing the distraught Ritsuko. The Hollow didn't know what to do, flashes of madness, yet the knowing of the wrong it had done. Ritsuko could not see this beast, but she knew it was there, and so she stood from her husband and closed her eyes. She spoke to this invisible beast, "You have taken all from me. Do not leave me here, alone. Take my life and be done with us. Go and destroy another life!" The Hollow did not know what to do, but in a moment of prosperity realized her death was for the better. The Hollow killed her with a jab of its claw. Ritsuko could finally see this beast, what her husband could always see, and the last thing he saw. That is when another being appeared; a Samurai? No, this being was not human, for a feeling she had told her so.
This being slayed the monster that had destroyed everything she knew. She did not see the spirit of her husband, but the Shinigami promised that it would see to him. It spoke to her of what was to happen now that she was, herself, a spirit. She would go to the Soul Society, where this Shinigami was from, and from there she would run her course to either be a Shinigami, or be a citizen and live until it was time to be reborn. She thanked the Shinigami, and would be sent to the Soul Society.
The Soul Society, and Ritsuko's new path... ___She would never know what was to become of her husband, and barely remembered the past life she had lead. However, she remembered the touch of his hands on her cheeks, and the eyes that seemed endless. These images and feelings came to her most in her sleep. Ritsuko took to learning about the Soul Society, learning most about the Gotei 13. This concept of beings protecting others fascinated her, and peaked her interest quite a bit. Ritsuko promised to become one of them, to protect and serve, and she would learn all she could.
Ritsuko filled her time with books and words of the old, wise ones. She knew she would eventually have to fight, so she sought out brawlers, leading them into fights with words they did not understand. In her spare time, she tinkered with devices, sometimes getting too close to the Shinigami and the Guardians of the Four Gates. There was one Guardian that she became an acquaintance of, who told her of the academy, and how she could proceed in her quest to be a protector. She thanked this giant of a Guardian, and set on her way to the academy.
Despite her intellect, it seemed to hinder her more than help while at the academy. They told her she could not pass just by intellect alone, and she told them quite frankly she would, and one day she would mock them when she stood tall as a Shinigami of the Gotei 13. She would eventually pass, but had a low score in her Kido, making them see her intellect as her keepsake. They placed her into commission for the 12th Division, and yet they did not see the power she hid within. For a new Shinigami, she was much more powerful than what had first appeared, and with her Zanpakuto she learned quickly of her Shikai. Mastering the abilities came easy to her, and soon she began to go for days meditating with her spirit, Yama. It would all be in her grand scheme; to finally mock those who told her she was nothing with just her intellect and some fancy swordplay.
To Mock the Mockingbirds ___It was finally do or die for her. The 12th Division was open to a new Captain, and she had meditated long and hard with Yama. Every day she had gotten stronger, excelling in her ranks, and producing new theoretic research that would be pushed into immediate developmental research. She stood tall as she entered herself in to the Captain's exam, she would show them that her intellect was not just for producing inventions. Through the time of her studying, and the meditation, her intellect had achieved what few could in their little time.
She knew of only a couple ways of becoming a Captain very quickly; one was to defeat the current Captain in a duel. Ritsuko chose the other one; Bankai. The examiners were speechless at her release; literally, as for a few seconds there was absolute silence. She looked on to the examiners and held the energy blade out, "I wish not to use my abilities, as all three are rather... destructive. Less you would have me initiate once upon a non-living object?" They would bring out a doll, setting life to it to see her skill in Bankai. In a blink of an eye, the doll was severed through its abdomen, and fell to the ground. The hum of energy died down as the reishi-based chainsaw was finished. It was a unanimous decision to accept her Captainship of the 12th Division in the Gotei 13.
However, she asked that not be promoted until some time later, as she had more research to do before becoming a person of such standing. They eventually agreed to it, and she would go on her way. Ritsuko disappeared from the radar for ten days, unknown to all of what this 'research' truly was. Very few would know, if any, of what dark things Ritsuko would do in the absence. The laws she would break to do such research. Even fewer could imagine what she would call 'the truth within the truth'. This research dealt with Hollows. But the truth within would forever stay a secret, even if she would be sent to the prison and tortured for the truth. Ritsuko would take a capsule for immediate death before she told of her research.

Zanjutsu :: Her second best skillset is that of her blade.
Kido :: Despite what most may think, she's cast off learning Kido beyond the lower ranks, due to finding it impractical in battle. (Up to #20 Hado/Bakudo)
The only exception for learning high level Kido has been :

The target sees the illusion of purple cherry blossoms falling around them. As their vision begins to blur and become unfocused, their consciousness becomes muddled, disoriented, and confused. Shortly thereafter, the target blacks out altogether, losing consciousness, only to awaken with an unclear memory of what occurred. The spell covers an area of 100 feet radius around the caster and will take effect three seconds after the cherry blossoms become visible.
Hakuda :: Minor use of, mostly only uses her hand to backhand her lowers that mess up something, or act unruly during research projects. Despite this, she has been known to force loose a tooth or two with her meager backhands.
Shitonegaeshi (褥返し, Cushion Return)
Narrow, blunt weapon
Aims to subdue an opponent and immobilize them on the ground using coercion alone. The practitioner first gives the target a light jab with a blunt weapon, aiming to hit nerve clusters to stun them and push them down. He or she then suspends the tip of his or her weapon millimeters from his opponent's face once they have been struck down.

Inner World Appearance: [The Mountain Sound] The inner world holds a vast mountainous landscape. Mist is perpetual in this world, leading to the possibility of accidents on the taller mountains. The center of this inner world is a small valley with hills in the center of the mountains.
Spirit Appearance: [Yama] The spirit of the blade is a very dark looking one, but the appearance is not as it seems. Yama, as Ritsuko names her, is a balance between the good and evil of the world. She wears a midnight purple outfit, which shows more purple in light, and has a clothe of the same color that covers her eyes. She constantly has a mist that drifts from her being, and Ritsuko believes this is the mist that covers the mountains.
Shikai/Bankai Information Release Command: Chinmoku o Yaburu [沈黙を破る - Break the Silence]

Shikai Power-Ups: The abilities of the Shikai is shaped around movement, so it gives a boost to her movement speed, but only a slight one. Also deals in the way of slight illusionary tactics, and a minor defensive technique.
Shikai Techniques/Abilities
- Ken no Michi (剣の道 - Way of the Sword) :: As she speaks the words, a shine of light flickers down the edge of the blade to the tip. This ability now seems to leave an image of the sword behind, up to six of them, making it hard to tell where the blade is actually directly at. For each image, it gets more dull, so the most bright of it will be the blade. If one is able to figure this out, it may be easier to see where the blade is coming, as well as direct lunges having no images less she is moving it around to disorient them. (Last one post, down for two post)
- Tosshin (突進 - Lunge) :: With a movement of going from still to a straight dash, she launches forward at a target. This ability is an illusionary tactic, as her image splits down the middle, and each one stabs at the sides of the target. The truth is that she has moved so quickly between the three spots, four consecutive movements (first position, left/right side, back to first position, left/right side -- depending on which side she hits first), it looks as if she split herself in to two beings to attack both sides simultaneously. This ability takes a two post cooldown, and if she deactivates her 'second' strike, it is left to one post cooldown.
- Tsukikaeshi (突き返し - Riposte) :: With a swipe of her blade a small shield forms in the area of the swipe. It may deflect a blade, and many projectiles, but will fail as the power behind them grows stronger. The stronger the power behind the blade or projectile, it may even pierce and continue on to Ritsuko.
Bankai Status: Achieved
Bankai Name: Chinmoku de Yama no Kage, Sutoraiku (沈黙で山の影、ストライク - Shadow of the Mountain, Strike in Slience)
Bankai Appearance: [XX] -- She gains a full-bodied transformation, now wearing totally different clothing, and her blade is made of pure energy. The blade has a temperature of 1200 degrees fahrenheit, or 648.889 Celsius.
Bankai Power-Ups: As it begins its transformation, a low hum emits from the blade which eliminates sound within a 50 yard area for just a moment. Bankai is based around the use of the energy the blade is made up of, and moves from movement speed bonuses to silencing footsteps.
Bankai Techniques/Abilities
- Gake no Hashi (崖の端 - Edge of the Cliff) :: The blade can manipulate reishi to its edge to vibrate at incredible speeds. This turns her blade into a chainsaw, allowing piercing strikes and slashes to do up to two times the damage of her blade. The ability is up for two post, down for one to recover.
- Yama no Jū Jiware (山の十地割れ - Ten Fissures of the Mountain) :: She will lunge forward, attempting to pierce her opponent. The blade will gather reishi to the tip, vibrating at incredible speeds, making it easier for her to pierce a Hierro or most reishi-based armors. Nine other blades, half in power, circle around her main blade and impact on a three inch diameter, and then release the energy of the blade and all nine forward in to the target. If the blades do not pierce, it should at least knock them back or disorient them with the release outwards of that amount of energy. Two post cooldown.
- Enerugī Kaihō (エネルギー解放 - Energy Release) :: Speaking the words, the energy in her blade is released, altering the air around it from the explosion of the energy going outwards. The ability is an aimed attack, and goes in a straight line for 100 yards. Once it meets 100 yards, or has hit something, it will do two things; it will cause an implosion, sucking things within 10 yards towards it violently, and then exploding outwards 10 yards. (Cooldown is three post)
- Yama no Hanketsu (山の判決 - Judgement of the Mountain) :: As the words leave her mouth, usually slow and with a smile, this ability unleashes the energy of her blade and creates a sun-blocking mist. The area-of-effect is 50 yards. The mist does some things; Spiritual detection is eliminated within (even with Pesquisa), minor hearing loss, very poor visibility beyond 10 yards, and the mist is conductive to the energy of her blade if using Enerugī Kaihō. If Enerugī Kaihō is used on the mist, it will ignite the entire area in a giant cluster of energy implosions and explosions.

You are missing a qualification section. I would suggest you put 'engineering' or some word that would allow your character to create stuff as one of the qualifications. She is head of the R&D after all.
Kido: I assume she only knows the first tiers of Hado and Bakudo? so up until #20 ish? This is so that everyone is clear on what "lower ranks" stand for.
Zanpakuto
Tosshin: I'm fine with this ability, but it sounds more like a technique? What makes it different from just a normal lunge of any weapon?
Tsukikaeshi: I suggest leaving out the part where she attacks a target after the shield disappears. It greatly limits what you can do with this ability if your character 'must' always attack after using it.
Piasusutoraiku: This also feels more like a Bukijutsu technique. Basically, if anyone can find a way to create that vibration, they would be able to do the same thing. Again, I'm fine with that, but are you sure you want to use up one Bankai ability for this?

And I also mentioned in the Kido part (Up to #20 Hado/Bakudo) Feiyimei ZanpakutoTosshin: I'm fine with this ability, but it sounds more like a technique? Anything related to manipulation or creation like Reishi manipulation would be considered another ability unless they are limited to boosting one's stats. How about switching out one of your more advanced Hoho techniques for that extra Bankai ability? Or you could try to obtain it through training.

Alright, so~
Removed -- Seiten and Rei Senkou.
Added -- Bankai ability, Gake no Hashi (崖の端 - Edge of the Cliff) and then added 'Swordsmanship' to Qualification, that way she might end up teaching others at some point how to manipulate reishi on their blades for more deadly attacks in/out of Shikai and Bankai. Feiyimei Sorry if I wasn't too clear, captain-level characters start with 2 qualifications so feel free to toss in another.
