Ara smiled lovingly as Detra moved into the room and over to her. "I love you too, Detra. So much." She watched him interact with their daughter and it caused a warmth to quickly spread through her. Despite Detra's worries, he was doing wonderfully with her. As he handed their daughter back to her she gladly held her arms out. As Detra asked about the other twin Ara gently hummed, cradling their little girl close. When Lithian yawned she looked up to Detra and smiled. "Did you name her yet?"
While Detra and Ara had their moment, Cas padded over to Lith and kissed his cheek. "Mmm...good job, love." Cas smiled and leaned his forehead against Lith's. "She's lucky to have you as a healer and now you can add one more thing to your list." Cas grinned as he kissed Lithian's cheek again and pulled away.
Minutes passed, and they seemed like hours, as they waited for the next twin to make an appearance. In reality, though, it was a mere ten minutes after Detra entered the room that Ara felt another contraction coming on. She scrunched her face up, teeth clenching down, and doing her best not to scream while she still held the baby. "Detra...take her...please." She groaned as another one hit her.

When Araceli began her next set of contractions, Detraeus took Akara as asked, murmuring and shhhhhing to her as she began to fuss at the sound of her mother’s cries. Thankfully, however, despite the stubborn wait, nothing especially remarkable or concerning happened with the second twin, and in the wee minutes just preceding dawn, the second child was brought into the world.
“Boy,” Lithian murmured, casting a quick, rudimentary cleansing spell as his umbilical cord was severed before wrapping him similarly to his sister and passing him over to his exhausted mother. “Congratulations,” Lithian said, his eyes soft and warm as he studied the tired face of his friend. “You’re done, Ara. They’re both here.”
The boy, even tinier than his sister it seemed, if that were possible, made a soft, whining fussing sound, his face scrunched up as though he were not nearly as excited by all this ‘outside world’ business as everyone else. Blankets were not nearly as warm as mother.

By the time it was all done Ara was exhausted. She held her baby boy close, smiling down at the small bundle in her arms. She leaned down and kissed his forehead and rubbed noses. "Ataya..." She whispered. "Welcome to the world, little one." Ara shifted her position, glancing up at Lithian for a moment and thanking him. Without her friend she wasn't sure how things would have gone. She was then turning her attention back to Ataya, working to help him latch on like her mother had taught her.
She brushed her fingers over her son's cheek, watching him a bit before looking up at Detra. Her smile said it all. Though she was worn out and sore, she couldn't be happier. She motioned for her little girl, taking her back and cradling her close in her free arm. It was a bit more difficult to get her to latch. "Stubborn little one, aren't you?" She cooed and worked with her and eventually she was leaning back, both twins happily nursing.
Araceli let her eyes close as she sighed, enjoying the closeness that the very act of feeding her babies made her feel. It was amazing. When she opened her eyes back up they instantly fell to Detra. "They're beautiful, aren't they?"

“They are,” Detraeus agreed. “Beyond so.” On watching them, though, he did have one question, and glanced to the similarly exhausted-looking Lithian. “Their skin,” he asked. “Is it…healthy?”
“Mm?” Lithian glanced up. “Oh.” The mottled, purple and peach. “Yes,” he said. “It’s their natural skin, and they’ll have it as such for life. Not diseased, though, so there is nothing to be concerned about. They’ll simply stand out a bit.” Giving a departing smile to Ara, Lithian stood, performed a quick, final check and cleansing over the mother, infants, and bedding, and then stepped away. Outside, dawn was making its appearance, softening the red hue of the blood moon and warming the room with soft light. “Unless you need anything more, Ara, Casseth and I will give you two some privacy…but I will be only a room away. Fetch me for anything. I mean it.”
With that, Lithian leaned over, pressing a kiss to Ara’s forehead before moving out with Casseth. Detraeus immediately moved in. He hesitated only a moment before joining Ara in the bed. The night had been long and arduous, but he was now the father of two healthy children, and mate to the most perfect woman in the world.
He could not conceive of a greater blessing.
