The kids were starting to find the non-candies. Harmless little tricks but he felt bad that two of them had gotten tricked twice in a row. "Don't worry little foals, there are still plenty of treats for you." The fillies had so far not been tricked, just the poor colts. It was the nature of the game, fillies had better senses as to where to dig. Still, the tricks were not bad things either.
