The Voiceless Ones is a gang that has existed for quite a long time, and that have been well known for years, but only by their emblem, or sign, which is often left as a signature around the city after certain events or types of events. Unknown to many is what type of gang they are, or rather, what they are made up of. The Voiceless are a gang made up of demons or demonic beings with varied abilities and code names that seem to usually revolve around something of the Avian Variety, including those of the mythical sort, though those generally have to be given out by the leader, who generally does not reveal himself to even those of his gangs members.
The only people to truly know who the gang leader actually is, is the Right Hand, and perhaps one or two others since he finds it hard to trust anyone these days, though he does show up as a supposedly normal member of the gang from time to time, or rather, more often than not.
Despite the fact that the previous leader of the gang had been human, the gang had actually been around before she had taken over for her mother and father, one of which had died of cancer, which drove the other from the the position of being the leader. Her mother had been human like her, and her father a pure blooded demon that had fallen in love with her. Despite the fact that demonic blood should have run through the daughters veins, it hadn't, and she had retained only her mothers human traits, and as a consequence, or it was thought of as one anyways, she was also born deaf and without a voice. Or at least, so it seemed. Instead it was more like she chose not to speak, or didn't know how to since she found no real need to do so since she couldn't hear anyways.
As the leader of the gang of demons and demonic beings, she always tried to keep the peace between them and the others in the city, especially the humans who were always wary of the demons. At least those who were aware of the existence of them anyways, as there were still some who had no clue they existed. Surprisingly.
The city of Reim, which is the city they rule over, was originally nothing but a small village started by a group of demons that had been banished from their land, and were forced to seek out a place they could call their own. A place they could start their lives over from. The leader of this group, often having been called The Voiceless Ones since they had made the entire trek in silence to mourn their loss and their position, was actually the girls father, and had belonged to the gang since back before the village had slowly developed into a city.
The group of demons had worked as hard as they could to make their new land flourish into what it is today, mourning that which they lost, yet staying strong and keeping their heads as high as they could as they slowly made the place livable and something they could truly call their own. Though it wasn't always peaceful. In fact it was just the opposite. Although there were human families and travelers that came by and decided to stay, along with those of other races, there were those that were determined to take over, or to fight them off because of what they were. While those of the Voiceless were considered some of the most peaceful of their kind, the humans that waged war on them refused to listen and believe their stories, though some simply wanted to take them over, and use them to their advantage. The humans and other beings that had come to live peacefully with them, and that had helped in building the city up to what it is today fought aside them as it slowly grew, and they helped to keep it together, helped protect it.
A lot of blood had been shed in the creation of Reim and even today it still stands, thanks to those who had sacrificed themselves, and that had fought to protect it. However it no longer stands as a sign of The Voiceless who created it, but rather as a city that had been taken over one year by those who eventually managed to overwhelm those who had made the place their home. Many were killed, and so much blood was shed that some of the ones that still know of the history behind Reim say that the streets and land was still stained by it. The demons and their supporters were either forced to flee, forced to hide, or join them and give into their demands. No demon gave in, mostly because they knew what it would mean for them, and they were too prideful to let someone else control them, especially those who once again had kicked them from their home, but some of the humans didn't really have a choice. They weren't quick like the demons, didn't have the abilities that would allow them to hide, or to sneak away, and those that couldn't found they really didn't have much choice but to give in to the new cities rulers.
However, throughout the many, many years that spanned from this time, the stories were passed from family to family, to only those trusted with them about the Voiceless ones and what they used to be, and some still haven't forgotten about them, though many now don't know whether to believe them or to think of them as simple stories told by parents who wanted to exaggerate the past.
However....the Voiceless never really left, for they had refused to be chased from their homes again, and they had instead taken to hiding in the shadows, to disguising themselves, so they could blend in with the humans as they moved in the background, as silent observers and a powerful force that refused to let people completely forget them. They left their mark to remind others that they were the ones who had built this city, that they were the ones who had brought life to it and that had tried to keep the peace despite their demonic nature. They refused to be pushed down, and to be looked at as lesser beings. Although now they are more seen as a rebellious, typical, tyrannical gang that ruined and ravaged the city, and perhaps to an extent, it is true, as they have grown tired of staying silent and unseen, and they want control again of their city, and won't hesitate to do what they find necessary to make sure they have their place in the world.
And the newest leader is more than just a little determined to keep that vision alive, no matter the cost, and no matter the damage that needs to be done. Even if he wasn't from those of the original demonic bloodline that had helped to bring this city to life.
They call them The Voiceless Ones....And they never truly left. They've just been waiting, quietly, patiently in the shadows as they prepared themselves for the oncoming war.
And not just with the city itself, but with others who have a taste for holding power as well.
They would hold their silence no longer.

"It is often those without voices that make themselves the most known, that are the loudest of all."
