Why wasn't her little trick working? She'd have to find some other way to lure her out. Maybe if she moved around him and backed towards the door --
"I can't actually hear--AGH!" Aeroniel was not particularly fond of her personal space being invaded, and consequently, when Chromis suddenly decided it was hug time. Aeroniel squirmed and made several unhappy (or even angry) noises. What was this naiad doing?! He needed to get off! She gave him no permission to touch her! And maybe this man was oblivious, but considering he thought she was somehow the Queen, he should know better than this!
Why her?!
Aeroniel squirmed out of his grasp, brushing herself off as if she just had dirt or barnacles dumped onto her head. "We're not best friends," declared Aeroniel, as tactless as she ever was. Of course, considering he showed no sense of tact either, what reason did she have to hold any sort of decorum?!
Why would he hug her? Why?

Thrilled nonetheless to be hugging his new best friend in the whole of the world. Even when she got out of the hug, he confused her protest with the label he gave her. 'Nonsense' he told her, 'you can hear me making us best friends!' Explaining this, he puffed out his chest proudly feeling himself clever for making the connection.
Only a best friend can hear everything you say and since she could hear him that made her the magical best friend! If he wasn't hers yet, then clearly it would be no matter to fix that. She was his after all!
Nothing stopped the imagined games of tag shark and of far off adventures. She could get him into the scouts maybe? Help the rest of the world see how awesome he was. Standard best friend stuff.

Seriously?
"No. My ability to," she places appropriate air quotes here, "hear you has nothing to do with our status as friends or not friends or best friends. I've never met you until now. We are not friends, yet alone best friends."
Good grief. She was convinced of it: all men were ridiculous. Nearly every one she had ever met was stupid in some way, and this one was of a special caliber of dense. Why did he link her ability to hear him to her being his friend? That made no sense. Did anyone think like that ever except for this guy? She had certainly never heard a strange thought connection like that before, at least. She had certainly never made that connection, because it was a nonconnection that did not exist in anyone's mind but his own and why--
He wanted to be a scout?
... Where was Turin, maybe she could play a game of 'tag-you're-it' and pawn him off to him. That could work. Well, if Turin wasn't wrapped up with Tariel again.
Aeroniel shuddered.
"Anyway, Court is not in session. You shouldn't be in here." Maybe she could at least shoo him out...EvilSilverDragon Aeroniel is so frustrated right now. XD

Breezy, Chromis simply put an 'yet' to the end of that strange idea that they were not friends. That just meant he'd need to spend as much time as possible around her. Maybe after he showed her enough of his skills she'd consider him the awesome friend to be best friends with.
And how far away could she hear him? How awesome would it be to talk to her during his day? The idea made him smile widely at the idea of being heard at any time on any day! She was the most awesome naiad ever--besides himself of course.
Her next comment seemed disjointed. What did the court being in session have to do with anything? Looking around, he was able to make the connection that this might be where that 'court' thing was. That connection ended with a cheer, 'Great so I won't be holding up a line!' Considerate and he didn't even know it! Seiana_ZI With Cromis, it can only get worse blaugh

Oh no.
She could not hand this foolish naiad projecting thoughts to her on a day to day basis. Oh no. Why did the waters torment her so? Hadn't she suffered enough at the minds of others already? She had heard a great many terrible things that would jade the mind of even the most grizzled of the Aernyn... And now she got this?!
Also, hr didn't seem to understand what Court was. How had he even gotten to this castle?
"Chromis, the Court is when you are able to have session and talk to the Queen and her most trusted. That is not now. You cannot be in here."
Maybe she could distract him with new knowledge. That might make him leave. ... Or it might attach him more. That would be even worse. The last thing she needed was a pae barnacle that was about as smart as a normal barnacle...
Which was to say, not smart at all.EvilSilverDragon She can hardly believe this. XD

Well that was a silly rule. Grumping and crossing his arms he saw no reason why just anyone could be in here. It wasn't fair of them to keep Aeroniel from this room when it wasn't being used for anything else was just a mean. Clearly King Chromis would have to change the rule some day.
If they were going to be mean like that to such a nice lady then he didn't want to be in here either! 'Where should we go?' he asked her, still mouthing the words as if to talk regularly.
There were places he liked to go, but it was only polite to go where his best friend wanted to go. Seiana_ZI He is like the pae version of Anderson XD

Where should they--
By all the little fish in the sea...
"No, Chromis. I can be in here. You, however, cannot." And with that, she attempted to try and push him out of the Throne Room. Maybe she could just close the door in his face and get him out of the way. Then she could ... swim away and hide or something. There were other exits to this room, weren't there? Exits from the back.
Of course, Aeroniel was not particularly strong in body -- she was strong in mind, not in strength -- and so her getting him out of the room might be difficult unless he was cooperative.
The strength was Turin's division.
"So I will stay here and you can go do something else."
Away from her preferably.
Why had she bothered chasing him down?! This was not the amusement she was vaguely hoping it'd be ...EvilSilverDragon XDDD She's like, "How dense are you?!"

Chromis looked at her than swam to the doors, only he didn't leave he looked at the door front side thinking 'nope' then looked to the back side continuing with his assessment of 'nope.'
Nodding his head he proudly same forward and told her, 'It doesn't say I can't be here.' With his chest puffed out and fists on his hips, his pride in himself permeated the area 'round himself.
How clever was he, finding the loop hole in the rules. It was rude to abandon his new best friend in this place of mean rules.
Speaking of, he was beginning to consider what he should next, this was great fun but next was always good. Gifts clearly, he'd impress her with gifts!
Seiana_ZI Important life question "why did she bother chasing Chromis down" blaugh

Seriously?!
Aeroniel was running out of ideas, which was unnatural for her. He wouldn't go away and he wouldn't listen to common sense. Why was this happening? How hard was this to understand? How old was this man? He looked like an adult but his reasoning left her to question that.
He was acting like an adolescent with all the confidence in the world fueled by a childlike way of looking at how the world worked. She needed to get him to go away or maybe she just... Needed to get away from him.
Aha.
Suddenly, Aeroniel swum around him and dashed out of the throne room. Maybe he'd follow her out... And then she could slip away.

His deep consideration of the gifts needed to impress his best friend, he lost his train of thought around life fish hat. As she darted off he followed quickly and silently. Even his thought process was thrown off with only 'oooh, follow!' This quickly became a fun race.
Instead of trying to keep behind her to go where ever she was going, which had to be some supper fun place, he started trying to beat her. There was no consideration as to where he was going, if asked he couldn't begin to tell where he was or how he had gotten there.
This was great fun, how awesome was his best friend?Seiana_ZI Chromis just thinks she is the greatest thing since water xd

She saw him leave the room and then... Swim off in some random direction.
Why?
Aeroniel nearly groaned and turned around to chase him, but she stopped herself. No. This was a blessing from the water. He got distracted and was trying to race her somewhere blindly. Aeroniel could just leave. He'd get tired of trying to find her eventually or at least get distracted by whatever his next best friend was going to be.
Probably a barnacle.
Mentally snickering at her own jokes, Aeroniel darted off in the other direction and attempted to hide in a side room before he noticed. Maybe she could slip away now...EvilSilverDragon She's gonna try to lose him. XD

He won the race! Clearly in that she was no where to be seen he had to have won. Dancing in place he considered just how amazing he was to have beaten her in a race.
Then he paused as something shiny caught his attention. Well, now that he was who knows where, clearly he had to find something to go after. If he found anything since he'll have to collect it for Aeroniel. He pictured finding a way to get things to her and everywhere she turned was new gifts!
Was there no limit to how awesome he could be?Seiana_ZI He has been lost since the day he was hatched.

After a few minutes of swimming, Aeroniel dared to turn around.
There was nothing. No one. Not a naiad in sight, and especially no Chromis.
Aeroniel let out a sigh of relief.
Finally, some peace and quiet again...
Too bad she didn't know what the naiad she just lost was up to.EvilSilverDragon Oh Chromis... I think we can say this one is fin. XD
