Bio (Up to five sentences minimum): How can one define a phenomenon that at once exists in definite tangibility and leads the phantom sense to wander beyond to infinity in order to grasp its definition? If a paradox is nothing more than the truth standing on its head attract attention, then it is invariably the simplicity of this nature that conceals the duplicity of Paradox.
While hiding in plain sight, Paradox has watched the meisters at Shibusen with equal parts disdain and amusement for an unknown number of years. She is content in the fact she has no one to fear per se, and so is happy, if at all bored, with living her life on cruise control. The magnitude of her power has made her something of a target for cocksure weapon techs, and thus the witch rarely hunts her prey.
An example of this was seen in the creation of Xuza Uriel’s abilities. It was a simple matter for her to leave a trail of madness for Xuza’s intrepid brother Marco to follow, and to trap the experienced meister once there. It was seemingly whimsical, the turning of a meister into an outcast, but those reading this should be aware that Paradox is not the type to do things out of sheer boredom. Then again, maybe it is whimsical plotting that entertains the mind of the witch best.
Spells/Powers: (Up to 8 Ex: Fire, Necromancy, etc.)
Chromatophore: Paradox is a master shapeshifter. She casts a light hypnosis when in public to make people perceive her as something/someone else, but in a more delicate situation she can actually change form.
Wave Blast/Particle Shot: This is the higher end energy attack of Paradox. She fires an energy attack that quickly multiplies into a series of shots with the same properties (strength, size), most/some coming right at the target. However, the instant the meister focuses on one of the blasts the wave function collapses, leaving a different shot to snap into reality, leaving out all the other blasts. This move has the potential to demolish an opponent, but it is quite unpredictable. There is no set path the shots take in waveform, and the shot the is collapsed into being by observation is random. That said, it is in reflex that many meisters try to track more than one object coming at them, especially if they don’t know about the particle function of the attack. The shots will keep changing positions until they are not being observed. Whether or not this is 50’ to the left of the target, or in the center of their chest is up to the observer’s reactions. 1charge/1cool.
Position/Motion: Paradox can move in the conventional sense, while continuing to occupy the same area she was. Think of it as astral projection, but on this plane of reality. Suppose she needed to get somewhere in a hurry, and suppose she had already known that she needed to be there and had traveled there using this method and, in essence, bookmarked the location. Now suppose that the witch has many of these checkpoints around town, around the world, simply because she never stops moving, never has a fixed position, and at once has both as well. This ability gives her body similar properties as the wave blast in battle. Can be used to achieve superposition, but forces the ability to stop afterwards. 2cool.
Curse: Paradox can create and curse opponents. Usually a post battle move.
Energy pulse/Energy control: In the interest of full disclosure, Paradox will be given a generic energy attack. This attack’s strength and ability vary in strength greatly and vary slightly in use; the name “pulse” referring to the manner in which it operates. The energy always starts as a self resonance, but with time and energy Paradox can resonate with the energy (and by the same coin matter) around her to produce different effects. Ex: in three posts’ time a bunch of rubble or rocks around Paradox’ feet could be vibrated into energy; which in accordance with the control function stated could then be used to attack the opponent. Also, to not note the indispensability of energy would be a gross oversight on my part; and as such it should remain that with the use of her control Paradox should be able to eliminate if not severely reduce all instances of entropy which would give the illusion of energy disappearance. Ex: if Paradox uses the aforementioned energy acquired from said rocks in an attack, and that attack is dodged, Paradox would be able to use Energy Control to redirect and continue the attack barring reasonable amounts of distraction; relying on a certain amount of base stamina, mental acuity, etc. Also, it is worth noting that this pulsing action used to separate and otherwise rearrange energy would be justifiably devastating to a soul wavelength should the witch turn it directly to her opponent. This may seem like quite a few things, but this is all one principle and so only warrants one move slot as I see it. At the most I will divide Control into its own move, but that’s as far as I care to go now.
Paradoxical Soul: This one seems obvious when remembering the witch’s name. Paradox’ soul is in a constant state of flux, ergo attacks aimed at disrupting her soul are largely ineffective. I suppose if you blast enough scrambling attacks at her she’ll begin to feel something like pain, but for the most part it’ll just tickle. It’s only logical considering the evidence. Passive.
Pointillist: Paradox is little more than a soul; her physical being is a manifestation of her constantly changing soul. So, it makes sense that Paradox can change size at will with a range from near microscopic to several stories tall. When combined with her Position/Motion ability it makes for a rather interesting attack strategy. For instance, you could be looking at a Paradox who is a pointillistic image of herself composed of innumerable tiny afterimages. As we know from the P/M ability, Paradox’ speed mirages allow her to collapse her possible positions, so this would effectively nullify most all physical attacks. Larger attacks encompassing her entire person would seem to be the solution to this. Paradox can only perform the combination of this ability and P/M up to her normal size; no dodgy images ten stories tall, in other words. Three posts, two cooldown.
(Note: Paradox can combine most of these abilities.)
Personality: Sort of like a Goddess would be depicted in that she seems to be parallel to nothing in how she carries herself, a confidence reserved for beings that dwell in an elevated state, or at least putting that act on. The Paradox, hiding in plain sight, will never initiate conversation, but will never deny it either, her voice a solution of soothing civility and highbrow disdain.
