People like me? Kylerr was redder than a crimson dragon after that. Oh, that's what he meant. But then Fadrin's -arm was around his shoulder?!-
"N-not on my account!" he stammered. "If it happens, it happens. Don't go doing something rash like that! Worry about yourself! You barely even know me!"
He calmed himself when Fadrin pulled away. After a moment, he strummed the lute. He must've knocked one of the strings out of tune. He hummed in curiosity and took to turning the stray peg. "There," he said cheerfully, and started strumming through some classics, keeping the air open for conversation.

"I know enough to see you believe in working things out peacefully." Fadrin smiled, looking over at the other, "And I'd like to get to know you more, I don't have many friends here and I like you."
The youth sat there for a while, simply listening to Kylerr play with a smile on his face. The harper played well and the music floated in the air, transforming the evening into something more worth of a story then a farmer hunting soil.
When the sun dipped below the edge of the Weyr bowl, a bell rung out calling Candidates back to their barracks and Fadrin grumbled, reluctant to leave. Rising slowly, he rolled his shoulders, the muscles rippling beneath the simple shirt, and turned to Kylerr. He leaned in close, eyes on the musician's, and winked as he tucked the stray hair back again.
"Looks like I have to go. I'll see you again thought, right? Before the hatching." He set a warm, strong hand on the other's shoulder to give a squeeze before turning away, "Just send a message for when and where if you want.' Fadrin grinned over his shoulder as he stepped away.

"You have other friends in Benden?" Kylerr asked with a chuckle as the songs continued on.
Kylerr's eyes couldn't help but drift to the boy in the corner of his eye as Fadrin rose. He managed to keep playing... until confronted with those warm, brown eyes. They were so close... his nose, his lips... oh, those were lips all right... The wink drew his gaze back up. The fingers on his face were anything but soft, but the touch was still gentle
"Yeah..." Kylerr managed quietly as Fadrin dismounted the boulder. His face was blank as Fadrin grinned. He couldn't even manage to think to return it. He wasn't even strumming a proper chord anymore. Just send a message... Where and when... The Candidates barracks... He realized he'd stopped breathing, inhaled deeply, and blinked. The bell. Right. He should be getting home too.
He stood up and nearly tumbled right over the edge to the ground, but staggered forward and stopped. His vision went momentarily black and faded back in. Too fast. Another breath and he was better. He gingerly stepped down and made his way back inside and through the corridors to his family's apartment.
