 To say it was hard would be an understatement, Solar knew difficulties. Okay, so he didn't know that many difficulties and this was the first time he probably had to do some actual work in his life, it was the thought that counted! Grumbling to himself Solar marched on, his paws hitting the ground rather roughly and scaring off any small prey nearby.
It wasn't like he actually had to hunt, his mom still knew how to do all the basic wolf stuff. It was the fact that she couldn't remember she was his mother, you know the one who's suppose to comfort you and reassure you that everything is going to be okay.
Alright so his mom was never like that, but still it's not like he could just magically locate his father and his father could reaffirm Solar's likable personality.
So lost in his thoughts Solar lost track of the distance he was creating from his mother...
"Why did she have to be the one I followed... "

 Beneath the shade of a rather large red tree, where bits and pieces of sunlight waved at the ground, was a gruesome scene. Or, at least, to one whom didn't eat meat. Two rabbits nestled right at the roots lay unmoving, with only a little blood around their necks. It had been a clean snap to the necks for them.
Panting heavily, the aurora-pelt wolf had her bloodied muzzle around the tusk of a boar almost one third of her size. It wasn't easy, but she slowly pulled its dead weight towards the tree. But it was getting harder and harder, for Aurora hadn't eaten in days, and her strength waned. After an agonizing twenty minutes, she managed to drag the boar close enough to be under the shade of the tree.
She sat down abruptly, her head low to the ground, panting even harder, the young wolf's eyes fixated on the grass. I knew I shouldn't have gone after that boar... He did me in... Aurora thought to herself.
The young wolf laid down, her front paws cut and bloody, as well as a few gashes on her front legs, and a thin cut along her stomach. It wasn't too bad, but she'd be nursing it for weeks. Aurora may have been laid-back, but this wasn't the time. She was alone, with only enough food to sustain her a few days. Her muddied coat started drying, making it a little harder for her to move.
If only she hadn't been so hungry, maybe the girl wouldn't have tangled in the mud for some juicy pork.

Solar stopped in his tracks, his paws sinking into the warm ground, he could smell another wolf. This was meant to be a good thing, but all Solar could worry about was if this wold would be willing to help him. It was hard being stuck in unfamiliar territory with a mother who never cared, and now doesn't even remember.
Shaking out his fur Solar slowly followed the other wolf's scent all the while berating himself for losing track of his surroundings.
He could smell the fresh kill the closer he got, and his stomach took that moment to remind him how hungry he was. New territory meant new trails to follow, which didn't always lead to a successful prey. Maybe if he played his cards correctly he could convince this wolf to assist him.
Letting out a low friendly howl Solar gulped again as he continued forward, was his nose off? How was he not basically on top of the wolf yet, he could have swor-
Grumbling Solar cleared his nose before taking a deep breathe in, and abruptly adjusting his course in the proper direction.
