Wind Release (, Fūton) is one of the five basic elemental nature transformations. It is performed by making chakra as sharp and thin as possible. Wind Release is mainly short to mid-ranged offensive techniques that combine brute force and keen precision to deal cutting and slashing damage. A rarity among the five chakra natures, wind techniques are usually performed by generating air circulation and can be enhanced through this method as well.

Yadama Furooseigyo [Projectile Control Skill] | A basic skill for those learning to master the art of wind control. With the ability to control air currents the user can utilize them to their advantage when throwing projectiles such as kunai or shuriken, using the wind to aid the speed and trajectory of their weapon. Note: Projectiles will be empowered with more speed. The speed of the projectile is increased depending on the user's rank: Genin: about .5x faster; Chunin: about 1x; Spec. Jonin: about 1.5x faster; Jonin about 2x faster; Jonin Commander: 2.5x; Kage 3x faster.
Happa Shinkuutai [Bursting Air Pockets] | Focusing on the air around them, the user is capable of causing parts of the wind to “burst” suddenly, causing anything nearby to be knocked aside. The burst does not do any damage however, and its primary purpose is to interrupt and leave the enemy open for further attacks.
Fūton: Kaiten Shuriken [Wind Release: Rotating Shuriken] | This technique infuses wind-natured chakra into bladed weapons. The user can then manipulate the blades in a spinning manner to attack the target.
Boufuu Kyouzuu no Jutsu [Gale Surge] | A defensive jutsu at best. The user distills the air around him or her with his or her chakra and at the exact moment of attack releases a large burst of air. It is a defensive move that is usually used when the user is caught off guard. The wind can only be released in one direction however.
Kaze Shunshin no Jutsu [Wind Instantaneous Body Skill] | An ability which allows the user to transport from one area to another in a gust of wind. The user has to have been to the area before, and be able to sense the location with his own chakra before being able to transport himself there. Note: This jutsu can only be used to escape combat, and may not be used in the same post if the shinobi has attacked or defended.
Fūton: Kiryū Ranbu [Wind Release: Air Current Wild Dance] | The user creates and controls air currents from the palms of their hands. The technique is able to easily whip up loose dust in the area, that can make it difficult to see through
Kaze Fuuchuufuyuu [Wind Levitation] | Utilizing and controlling the wind, the user is able to force the wind beneath an object in order to force it to rise up from the ground. The effectiveness of this jutsu is very much dependent upon the weight of the object in question, so large objects will take longer to lift, while lighter objects can be quickly lifted. Additionally, as the jutsu works by forcing wind beneath the targeted object, the higher the object gets, the harder it is to raise it any higher. Note: Varies depending on user's rank: Genin: lift an object 5 ft in the air; Chunin: lift an object 10 ft in the air; Spec. Jonin: lift 15 ft in the air; Jonin: lift 20 ft in the air; Jonin Commander: lift 25 ft in the air; Kage lift 30 ft in the air. Only inanimate objects.
Yadama Henshin Bakuha [Projectile Deflection Blast] Range: 3m [ 10 ft ] | Building up a great amount of air in their chest, the user distills chakra to expel a great gust of wind directly from their mouth. The wind is not strong enough to push back something as solid as a human body but can deflect light projectiles such as kunai and shuriken.
Fūton: Naishoubanashi Kaze no Jutsu [Wind Release: Whispering Wind Technique] Range: 15m [49ft] | The user whispers a maximum of ten words and uses Fūton chakra to carry those words to someone. The slight breeze will head the target's way, and when it reaches them, will deliver the message in a voice only audible to the target.
Bouseki Tate no Kaze [Spinning Shield of Winds] Range: 1.5m [ 5 ft ] wide and across | Focusing on an area in front of them, the user dispels chakra to cause the wind to spin rapidly in a circular motion, creating something akin to a shield. Instead of deflecting attacks, however the shield will reflect whatever was thrown at them back towards the enemy at the same speed it was fired at.
Fūton: Kaze no Purusu Kougeki [Wind Release: Wind Pulse Attack] Range: 6m [ 20ft ] | The user performs a few handseals first, and then inhales thoroughly. Afterward, Fūton chakra aids the user to exhale and shoot out small pulses of wind bullets from their mouth. The projectiles are a few inches big and have a light green color. Though they're nothing serious, they can be quite annoying pain, especially when aimed at the face or upper limbs.

Kamaitachi no Jutsu [Sickle Weasel Technique] | This bold move is Temari's speciality. By freely manipulating the gale brought forth by her Giant Folding Fan, the many air currents collide and create vacuum pockets. The person enveloped by this gale is assaulted by countless invisible blades, carving up their body. Also, the strong wind power will blow away all incoming projectile weapons and will even make the opponent unable to stay on their feet. Temari has also shown the ability to manipulate the form of the gale, creating a tornado to envelop and lift her opponent, while also cutting them several times. In Part II, she is skilled and accurate enough to cut away the armour of a samurai without injuring the wearer. Notes: Requires a fan weapon to use.
Fūton: Reppūshō [Wind Release: Gale Palm] | A simple technique that when the users hands are clapped together, wind is compressed and transformed into a powerful gale. This technique, when used as an isolated attack has the power to easily knock over a human. Though the true value comes from using it together with projectile weapons like shuriken or kunai. Their speed, power, and ability to wound or even kill are all increased several times.
Kaze no Yoroi [Armor of Wind] | The user utilizes his chakra and the wind around him to create a whirlwind around himself. The wind forms a circle around the user, five feet in radius, so ten feet in diameter. The wind picks up debris and acts as armor for the user. The wind armor lasts for five posts. Debris on the ground strengthens the armor and projectiles thrown towards the wind also become part of the armor. Taijutsu and Bukijutsu users is useless against the armor. A Genin who gets caught in the wind will become part of the armor, Chuunin will be knocked back five feet, and a Jounin will be knocked back two feet. An elemental jutsu is useless against the armor, but if one is used against the armor it weakens it greatly. Two posts after an elemental jutsu is used against the Kaze no Yoroi the armor is dispelled.
Fūton: Kazekiri no Jutsu [Wind Release: Wind Cutter Technique] | Using their chakra or a ninja tool such as a war fan to manipulate or create an external source of wind, the user can create one to several blades of wind, which are capable of slicing through their target with ease. Temari and a group of tessenjutsu users from Sunagakure also used this technique as a means of countering a powerful, incoming torrent of wind.
Jūha Shō [Beast Tearing Palm] | A powerful technique of wind nature chakra that can cut and slash through any material. Sora activates it by summoning chakra in his right hand, and then swipes a slicing chakra wave which appears to be controlled by Sora's will and thoughts. He is also able to use the technique in a rapid-fire, successive motion. This technique became stronger when Sora was in the influence of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox's chakra and instead of the usual blue colour, it was red.
Nadeshiko-Ryū Kōha Reppūken [Nadeshiko-Style Hardliner Gale Fist] | By covering one's own hand with wind-natured chakra, the user attacks the enemy with it. The force of the strike is great enough to produce a powerful shock wave that can cause noticeable fissures without direct contact.
Nadeshiko-Ryū Kōha Senkaigiri [Nadeshiko-Style Hardliner Revolving Cut] | The user covers one leg with wind chakra and delivers a powerful falling kick to her opponent. This kick was powerful enough to slice through a mechanical puppet.
Fūton: Daitoppa [Wind Release: Great Breakthrough] | A technique that creates a gust of wind, whose scale and usage varies depending on the user. If used by a superior shinobi, it has enough destructive power to knock down a large tree. The wind from the squall can blow away all things in the user's line of sight. The technique can also be used in the form of a devastation stream of wind expelled from the user's mouth. There is also a variation of the technique involves a smaller blast of wind which gets ignited with flame.
Kaze Bunshin No Jutsu [Wind Clone] | Basically your typical clone, formed from wind. It is easily bested by any sort of skill, but this clone is still better than the average bunshin as it is able to attack and be attacked. Note: These clones can be distinguished from the user when used against dōjutsu as they possess minimal chakra. They possess some substance and have enough chakra to perform a single elemental jutsu of their nature up to C-rank. Can make at most [3] clones unless a Tailed-Beast host, then they can make an additional clone per tail of the Beast. Basic elemental clones cannot leave the thread.
Hikui Tenkuu Assaku no Jutsu [Low Air Pressure Technique] | This technique makes the air pressure in a room drop dramatically, causing anyone inside to fall asleep. It can only work in an enclosed area like a building or room.
Koukiatsu no Jutsu [High Air Pressure Technique] | This technique makes the air pressure in an area raise dramatically.
Fūton: Tei Hakusha [Wind Release: Air Riding] | As wind ninjutsu is typically more focused on ranged combat rather than close combat such as what taijutsu specialists favor, it was necessary to create jutsu’s that made them as hard to hit as possible, as a result, the wind riding technique was created. The technique in essence has the user form a ball of rapidly swirling air beneath their feet, upon which they typically sit (some with exceptional balance may choose to stand). As a result the user is left hovering several feet above the ground, and is able to control the ball to move quickly in any direction, essentially allowing the user a high degree of speed and agility while they remain on the ball, and due to the hovering nature of the ball combined with its speed, it is quite natural for users of this technique to move across walls and ceilings. All of this makes this an excellent jutsu for wind ninjutsu users when forced into a corner, or even can be used when scouting is necessary. Additionally the user can use a platform of sorts to help keep their balance, such as a large fan.
Kaze Gyorai no Jutsu [Wind Torpedo] | The user gathers a large amount of wind into his lungs and expels it in a single blow, similar to the projectile deflection blast. This version however is significantly more devastating as the wind forms a torpedo that is near invisible that launches towards the opponent. Upon contact it explodes with the force of two exploding tags.
Fūton: Tatsumaki Wana [Wind Release: Tornado Trap] | The user creates a large tornado about ten feet high directly around their enemy wide enough so that they have little room to move. The opponent will find themselves trapped inside the eye of this tornado, unharmed by the winds but unable to move without touching the tornado. If they attempt to escape they will find the swirling winds will push them back inside the center, with several cuts and scratches due to the ferocity of the winds. However just as what’s inside cannot leave what is outside cannot enter; any attacks or projectiles will simply be deflected back out.
Fūton: Kaze Hashi no Jutsu [Wind Release: Wind Bridge Technique] | This technique was developed as a quicker way to give or retrieve an object at crucial moments in a given range. By focusing on an object and then using ones chakra and performing a few handseals, they will form a small ball of wind around the object in an attempt to lift it. At this point the object can either be gently carried over, or the ball can be dispersed sending the object flying. The stronger ones mastery of wind is, the heavier the object(s) can be taken. Most commonly used for small blades, kunai, shuriken either retrieval, or even a surprise attack. However note that this jutsu can't be used to freely move around a weapon in mid-air. It can only make it return to you, or send it flying in a random direction.
Fūton Kaze no Tsuuro [Wind Release: Wind Passage] | The user performs a few handseals, and then concentrates create a passage of wind for his projectile. He throws the weapons and the Fūton chakra is used to manipulate them to move through that passage of wind.
Fūton: Josho [Wind Release: Rise] | The user blasts Fūton chakra straight towards the ground, allowing them to leap amazing distances. They cushion their landing using a second weaker blast.

Daikamaitachi no Jutsu [Great Sickle Weasel Technique] | This technique is a more powerful version of the Sickle Weasel Technique: many air currents collide to create vacuum pockets that slashes the opponents, with enough power to slice down many trees in a forest. This technique can deflect both physical and sound wave attacks and attack at the same time, making it both an offensive and defensive technique. Notes: Requires a fan weapon to use.
Fūton: Mugen Sajin — Daitoppa [Wind Release: Infinite Sand Cloud — Great Breakthrough] | A technique used by Gaara in his miniature Shukaku form. He first inhales air with the mouths on his face and all over his body, and blows it out along with a chakra-coated sand cloud. This powerful squall covers a large angle in a stream sufficient to knock the trees down and damage them with the sand. This technique is extremely efficient even against multiple enemies. Note: Must know Fūton: Daitoppa.
Fūton: Atsugai [Wind Release: Pressure Damage] | A powerful wind technique which is released by Kakuzu's wind-element mask. This tornado-like mass is compressed until it has a very high density and is then released. The wind pressure is raised to its highest limit, and once the technique hits the target, the resulting blast sweeps everyone off their feet. If the technique is used by someone who has mastered wind nature transformation, the blast can hit a vast range, inflicting massive damage on both the target and their close surroundings.This technique can be combined with the Fire Release: Intelligent Hard Work, to increase the flame's potency in a great scale, causing a massive fire-storm.
Jūha Reppū Shō [Beast Tearing Gale Palm] | This technique is somewhat of an enhanced version of the Beast Tearing Palm. It uses chakra to infuse with and condense a mass amount of wind-chakra to form a massive demonic-like claw extending from the user's hand to strike and grab a target, as well as deflect any weapon or attack. Depending on its use, the user can manipulate the size and length of the claw to attack and defend at any range. In addition to making it a deadly weapon, the extending claw also carries tremendous force that can devastate anything in its path without affecting the user, making it useful for dislodging solid and heavy objects. Note: Must know Jūha Shō.
Fūton: Kyoushu no Tosshin [Wind Release: Assassin’s Rush] | Expelling a great deal of chakra, the user forces a vast amount of wind out behind them. This blast of wind has two effects, first, anything behind the user will likely be knocked over by the blast, secondly it propels the user extremely quickly in their desired direction, and the user may use the wind to make continual adjustments to their trajectory during this short dash. The dash lasts for barely a second, but in that time the user can cover considerable distance, making this an excellent assassination jutsu as the name implies.
Fūton: Shinkūha | [Wind Release: Vacuum Wave] | The user takes a deep breath and spins while exhaling, compressing the released air into a solitary blade of wind that covers a substantial area around the user, due to their circular motion. The resulting sharpened blast is large enough to slice through multiple targets located a significant distance from the user, causing grievous injuries to those hit.
Fūton: Shinkūgyoku [Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere] | The user takes a deep breath and then exhales several small blasts of wind chakra in such a manner that they are dispersed over an expansive range, enough to make it difficult to avoid them entirely without taking any damage. Due to the properties of this technique, the expelled blasts are capable of piercing into and potentially through an opponent's flesh when they collide with it. In the anime, when Danzō performed this technique, he expelled spherical bullet-like wind blasts.
Fūton: Shinkūjin [Wind Release: Vacuum Blade] | The user exhales wind-infused chakra onto a weapon in order to increase its sharpness, range and lethality. For example, the user can infuse a kunai to resemble a makeshift scimitar or infuse shuriken to increase their range and cutting power. In the case of the kunai, wind-natured chakra, which envelopes the weapon, has a distinctive light green colouring.
Kaze Gaeshi [Wind Return] | Technique used by Shitenshounin member Kujaku. This technique is used to counter a wind attack launched against Kujaku. Using her swords' ability to amplify her chakra and transform wind, Kujaku will split the incoming wind attack and take control of the whirling vortex. She can then launch it back at the ninja who originally created it. Note: Must have a chakra-infused weapon.
Ressenpū [Violent Whirlwind] | The user produces a powerful stream of wind from their mouth. This technique was powerful enough to dispel several shadow clones in an instant.
Fūton: Suiran Reppū [Wind Release: Verdant Mountain Gale] | After forming the need hand seals, Asuma can manipulate his Wind infused knives while they are away from his body. Using the technique, he can hover the knife in the air and then rotate it. This grants him an alternate means of attack if he is imprisoned and his blades are left outside the enclosure. The power of the Wind Element is enough to penetrate some forms of Raiton defense. Allows the user to coat a weapon in Fūton Chakra at a distance, levitate, and launch it at something. Requires the user to be stationary.
Tatsumaki Rendan [Tornado Barrage] | A skill where the user gathers their chakra into the air around them causing the winds in the air to circle about creating spiraling masses of wind. These spiraling masses of wind then launch off various towards to come crashing down towards the opponent. Tearing through the earth and tossing aside all that get within their path. The user can have them go in a straight line, or scatter them about.

Fūton: Rasengan [Wind Release: Spiraling Sphere] | A small compact ball of Fūton chakra, in the form of a small spinning ball, with strips of Fūton dragging at its sides. About half the size of a normal Rasengan, lacking in the original power, it makes up for it with it's exceptional advance, when landing the Fūton: Rasengan will turn into a twister of pure wind and hurdle the opponent back, easily tearing down to the muscle. This, is of course less damage then an actual Rasengan, but powerful in it's own way. Note: Must know Rasengan.
Kaze no Yaiba [Blade of Wind] | This technique is a pinpoint slashing strike, where the user emits chakra from their fingertips and materializes it into an near invisible weapon that assaults the enemy in a gust of wind. If the Sickle Weasel Technique can be regarded as a swarm of wind kunai, then this technique is akin to an unavoidable longsword which can leave the target's body mutilated. Just being in close proximity to the technique can cause minor cuts. The wind blades can be created and thrown, like projectiles, in rapid succession.
Fūton: Taifūikka [Wind Release: Passing Typhoon] | The user creates a gust of wind that blows away all weather conditions. It is powerful enough to dispel even the Hiding in Mist Technique.
Fūton: Shinkū Taigyoku [Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere] | A stronger version of the Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere technique, where the user instead chooses to compress the entirety of the previously inhaled breath into a single large, crushing sphere of wind chakra that they then proceed to expel from their mouth.
Fūton: Shinkū Renpa [Wind Release: Vacuum Serial Waves] | The user takes a deep breath and exhales several blades of wind at different angles, by rapidly moving their head in various directions. The power of this technique can be dramatically enhanced when utilised in conjunction with the effects of extreme suction, such as that generated by Baku, where the augmented attack proved effective enough to even slice through the defenses of a complete Susanoo.
Fūton: Tatsu no Ōshigoto [Wind Release: Great Task of the Dragon] | Temari swings her fan to the sky, causing a giant tornado to descend upon a target. This technique can be set up as a feint as it has a delayed activation. The technique alters weather conditions temporarily and attacks from the sky rather than from the person. The storm clouds that create the attack dissipate immediately after the tornado begins while the tornado continues in a highly concentrated state. Note: Must have a fan weapon.
Fūton: Kakeami [Wind Release: Cast Net] | Using her Giant Folding Fan, Temari, along with two others, creates multiple narrow currents of wind that form a large net of sorts. The winds generated from this technique are extremely sharp and powerful enough to inflict shallow wounds onto the Third Raikage whose body was renowned for its tremendous durability. It should be noted that the Third Raikage was not clad in his Lightning Release Chakra Mode, as seen when he survived the direct impact of another wind-natured attack with negligible damage. Note: Requires a fan weapon. Requires a minimum of [1] additional Shadow Clone.

Fūton: Rasenshuriken [Wind Release: Spiralling Shuriken] | is a shuriken-shaped variant of the Wind Release: Rasengan. The Rasenshuriken was invented by Naruto Uzumaki shortly after he figured out the principles of the Wind Release: Rasengan. Like that technique, Naruto typically has the help of two shadow clones in the Rasenshuriken's formation: he provides the chakra, one clone helps keep the chakra contained, and the second clone adds his wind nature. Unlike the Wind Release: Rasengan, additional shape transformation is applied to the Rasenshuriken, creating four large points around the central Rasengan core, giving the appearance of a fūma shuriken. By the time of The Last: Naruto the Movie, Naruto is able to create Rasenshuriken without aid. Note: Must know Fūton: Rasengan.
Fūton: Ōkakeami [Wind Release: Great Cast Net] | Similarly to its parent technique, the user employs their Giant Folding Fan to create a multitude of extremely sharp blades of wind to attack their opponent with. This technique can be used in conjunction with other tessenjutsu users for increased power. Note: Requires a fan weapon. Requires a minimum of [3] Shadow Clones or other Fūton users.
Fūton: Fūjin no Jutsu [Wind Release: Dust Cloud Technique] | This technique creates a stream of high-velocity wind containing dust particles, capable of decimating anything caught in it in only a matter of moments. The completed technique is directed through vertically overlapped hands that are placed in front of the user's mouth after forming the necessary hand seals.

Fūton: Ōdama Rasenshuriken [Wind Release: Big Spiralling Shuriken] | By using two shadow clones and his Wind Release nature transformation, Naruto is able to form a Rasengan in the form of a shuriken. The sphere in the technique's centre is considerably larger compared to that of the Rasenshuriken's standard variant. The user can also keep adding chakra to the technique causing it to expand to enormous proportions. In this enormous version, Rasenshuriken shines very brightly in the dark. When thrown it causes a tremendous wind sphere upon detonation that can be seen from several kilometres away, and is enough to even neutralise a reincarnated Madara Uchiha long enough to be restrained, while simultaneously destroying both of Hashirama's wood dragons. Note: Must know Fūton: Rasenshuriken and Ōdama Rasengan. Requires [2] Shadow Clones.
