She kept up, which surprised Lucius. He didn't think her wings were that strong considering she chose to walk to her destination. "So have you ever been this high? Anywhere on the island?"
Staying below the taller trees still, not fully going out above the whole jungle, he pointed out towards another taller tree. "Do you see that? In the emergent, hidden under the branches of that tall tree." The thing he was pointing to was still a fair distance away, but it was visible with the naked eye. Right underneath the shade of the tree, just barely peeking up above the canopy were the remnants of a small treehut. It was hidden to anyone flying over the jungle, or from those not aware of them.
"Have you ever seen anything that before, Adora of the Jungle?"

He didn't answer her, but he didn't laugh at her either. She'd take it. "Well...sometimes I really do fly over the trees..." Whenever her dad actually went somewhere with her, he insisted it safest. Can clearly see everything around you. But everything can clearly see you too. She thought to herself, half bitterly. But her thoughts were pulled from such musings to look at where he pointed. "Huh? Where?" Adora narrowed her eyes to try and see it better. It took a moment, as she didn't know exactly what she was looking for. However when her gaze finally did strike the hut, her eyebrows lifted in surprise.
"Not...quite..." Pae made tree homes all the time in order to live in the jungle or forests. But her Aunt Starry's home was gigantic and a bit lower into the canopy. This was small, and apparently old by the shape of it. She wanted to see it. "Some pae must have lived here." Glancing over at Lucius she moved a few feet closer to the little shelter. If she could just get a little closer, she could see a bit more into it...maybe find out what kind of pae used to dwell in it.Antidia Just imagining her creeping towards it like a kid and a cookie jar.

Lucius smiled. She was interested at least. He wondered - but doubted - if she knew any of the history of this area. Or if she'd ever seen these old huts before. He doubted many pae at all knew of them, or they'd not be so intact.
"Follow me," he told her and flew off, skimming the tops of the canopy trees, but staying below the uppermost trees. Some little glimpses of what lay below the canopy were visible if a pae flew slow enough, but Lucius was going for shock factor in this tour.
The hut was a fair distance, so it took a bit to get there, but Lucius flew quickly, knowing Adora could keep up, since she kept up when flying straight up.
Once they arrived, Adora would find the hut wasn't really a hut. It was a platform with a railing. Lucius laughed at her comment about pae living there. He was enjoying teasing her naivete. The wood was old and mostly rotted. Wind and weather had taken a toll, but it wasn't nearly as decrepit as it should be for a thousands years-old structure. The magic of the jungle preserved a lot of the old Fae structures, though it couldn't keep them pristine.
"It's a look-out post. Come here, and look. But be careful, the wood is weak." He stood on the platform very lightly, keeping his wings fluttering. He pointed out and showed Adora that from where they were, they actually had an elevated perspective enough to see over the entire jungle. The smoke from Dragnid Tower was even visible. This location, like many of the forest and jungle, benefit from a residual enchantments from their early ancestors. Perspectives were skewed so the sentries manning this post could see further than their eyes or equipment allowed.
"There are a few of these in this jungle. Have you ever seen one? Or anything else, high in the canopy or emergent?

"Oh?" Did he notice her eagerness? She smoothly dipped to fly after him, her body easily twisting around the trees. She wasn't the smartest pae on the island, big words confused her. But flying was something she could handle.
When they finally arrived, she pulled her body up to stop the forward momentum, and then gently drop her feet down onto the platform. Even with her soft landing, the wood still groaned in protest. "Oh...wow." It wasn't a house at all! "Why would somepae need a look-out post?" The only reason she could think of was to hunt, but that seemed like an awful amount of effort to make when they could just fly up and sit on a branch. As she looked around though, she lightly frowned. She was seeing a lot. A lot a lot. More than she should be with their location and eyesight. Fascinating. "No...just animals..."
Wait a minute. This wasn't all to prove that there was just as much to look at above as there was below, was it?! Then again, her new 'friend' did seem to have a bit of a jerk streak. The hybrid started to walk towards the other edge. As the wood groaned before, she didn't really pay mind when it did again as she stepped on a weakened part.
SNAP! "EEP!"
The wood gave way under her right foot, dropping her down a few inches before her wings snapped down to catch her. She flapped again, raising herself out of her self made hole. Her emerald eyes almost didn't want to look at Lucius, half expecting to be either chastised or 'I told you so'. To be honest, she didn't know which would be worse. "Eh...heh...heh."
What did he expect? It was the first time she stepped on decades old wood!

"For security," Lucius answered to her query. He kept looking, fascinated by the views, always wondering what it was like back when this post was manned and required. Back when this was still a forest.
When she slipped through the wood, he jerked slightly, reaction to reach out and catch her. But he didn't. She caught herself. He remained stoic in his demeanor but rolled his eyes at her sheepish expression. He'd laugh, but he did genuinely feel a momentary panic. And it bothered him.
"Follow me."
The dark-blue fae, letting his wings slow down and rest against his back took slowly, careful and deliberate steps down a staircase with a landing beside the platform. "Careful of splinters. The wood is old." He descended beneath the canopy, beneath the emergent to a dim, green world, lit up by rays of light peeking through the trees above. They were high enough that this could easily be missed by anyone traveling through the jungle. Hidden enough by the natural growth. The stairs led down to a large structure that wrapped around the entire tree trunk. Time had battered the walls and roof, but it was still structurally sound enough to support visitors.
They would land on a porch that surrounded the building, beside the threshold to a bridge. Following the bridge, a pae would see another similar structure. But also coming in to view as if suddenly unphasing, would be an entire village of these huts on different levels of the trees and the connecting bridges.
"Would you even suspect a whole world existed above your head?"

Security against what? She knew times were tense, but the creatures in Dragnid kept to themselves. But she didn't voice the question, quietly gliding over to the male. Slowly she lowered herself to the ground again to walk, but this time she tested every step before putting her full weight on it.
He was right about splinters. The wood was frayed from age, and despite how gently she walked it still creaked in protest. Where was he even taking her?
Spirling down the tree trunk, finally standing upon a porch. Her eyes followed naturally down the bridge it connected.
What she saw took her breath away. She didn't have a word for it, as she didn't know an establishment like it existed. How could something like this exist, and she never notice? "It's like...like...The City...but not." It was as close to a description as she knew, a place with multiple structures. Outside like Headquarters, but sprawling. "What happened here? Why is it abandoned?" There was a magic here she didn't know, the remains of an advanced civilization. Where did they go? "Are there more places like this?" Did Lucius even have answers to her questions? His find was amazing. Why didn't pae now a days live on the island like this? Together like in the City, instead of isolated? "This...this is amazing." She looked to the fae, her emerald eyes wide. The decision to follow him? Best. Idea. Ever.

((A lot has changed for both of them, so I'm good with calling this RP done/ending it. Can say she left with a new appreciation/respect for the jungle or something. XD ))
