Quote: Kaida ::
She is sitting with her tail twitching agitatedly, her ears are back and her fur is standing on end along her back. She is clearly displeased with something, or someone or maybe everything. Her eyes are narrowed slits and her breathing is shallow as if she is trying to stay calm when all she wants to do is lunge. What has her so upset is unclear as she hasn't really moved from the spot for a good while now, though her cheeks are puffed out slightly. It might be for the best to just leave her alone for now. Quote: Azâzêl | It had been a while since he heard from any of the leopard family. Though he had planned to completely divide Chiyuki and Karis, he had underestimated that female's devotion to her 'mate' or whatever they were calling themselves nowadays. They had yet another litter of kits, so he heard, seven tiny terrors out to torment the world, on top of the six they already had. He smiled inwardly. At least he had reaped some fruit from his labors, as one of the children had taken the words of a 'friend' to heart, enough to abandon her own kids, leaving them to the care of her mother while she roamed the lands free and unburdened. Karis' naiveté seemed to be hereditary, for she and her daughters failed to see the monster before their eyes. Chiyuki was, at least, more perceptive, which left him wondering if that trait had been passed down to other kits of his.
'Not that one,' he thought to himself as he observed Kaida from the shadows of the underbrush, though this female gained other aspects of the leopard father's personality, aspects Azâzêl readily exploited. The lack of perception on Kaida's part was probably a good thing, considering the fact that it made his life a lot easier. While he always appreciated a challenge, he certainly could not complain. Kaida was fun, a little more interesting than her sister, Cira. It was easy to manipulate the little sister; the older one was a bit more tricky. Though, at the moment, she seemed irritated. Something was clearly amiss. His eyes flickered with amusement, emerging into view and casually sauntering over. "Kaida," he said, his tone smooth and welcoming, a stark difference to the innate malice circling within. "Is something bothering you?" Quote: Kaida ::
Her ears flicked backwards towards the sound of her name being called. She had only barely heard the other approach and had he not spoken she might have grown even more agitated. It was however with great relief that she found herself not faced with one of her lesser siblings, or even her parents at this point, but instead a dear old friend. She twitched her whiskers upwards slightly and tried very hard to look pleasant but it was for naught. The best she could manage was a grimace as she tried to pat down her fur. Her sorrow had quickly turned into anger and she hadn't quite gotten past to the acceptance stage yet, it was unlikely she would for awhile yet. So furious was she with having been beaten by her baby sister and then forgotten about by her parents.
Azzy's smooth voice washed over her skin like water over a fire, sending a prickling sensation down her spine that was at once pleasant and almost illicit seeming. Her tail twitched just a bit less as she eyed him carefully for a moment. She wondered vaguely what he thought of the whole situation, did he think less of her now too? That her baby sister had managed a lover, worshiper, before her? A beautiful cat with a peculiar name, Apple, and had also managed little minions before her as well? Would he all but forget about her when the tiny worthless creatures she called siblings started moving about as well? The mere thought of it made her irate. This was her Azzy, her dear friend, and she wouldn't stand to be forgotten by him too. She would find a better lover, a more beautiful lover, someone stronger more powerful. She would show the world just how much better she was than her sister!
"Azzy, always pleasant to see you." She stated her voice a touch tight but calm despite her current state of emotions. "You could say that. Something is bothering me, a touch." She eyed him for a moment her tail flicking before she lowered her eyes to the ground. "It doesn't matter though, I'll show them all just how great I am." She whispered if only for herself to hear. "I'll get a better lover." She grumbled under her breath before forcing a tight smile onto her lips. "How have you been?" Quote: Azâzêl | He furrowed his brows at her remark, concealing his amusement with what appeared to be genuine concern for his 'friend.' "Just worried for you," he replied, taking a seat beside her. "It's been a long time, but, like I have said before, I always return here." he continued, laying down on his side, looking up at her as if to make her feel higher than himself, hoping to give her some feeling of dominance as she looked down at him. She did not know that some of the world's deadliest creatures struck from below. "Yes, I heard about Cira's children, though it may interest you to know that she has not been the best about caring for them. Sure, she has had children, but they are not the devotees to her glory as you might expect. Rather, at least one resents her," he explained. Perhaps he could increase her confidence, enough to manipulate her as he did Cira. While he could not use the same tricks and convince Kaida to abandon her children as her sister had, he could attempt to stroke her ego to the point that she felt deserving of nothing more than adoration from her children, similar to how Karis essentially pledged her very existence to Chiyuki. It is no way to raise a child, but what did he care? He was not here for anyone's benefit.
"While no one is deserving of someone as wonderful as yourself, I'm sure you will find a more suitable lover than the one Cira had kept for a mere night. After all, look at you." That may not have been entirely untrue; Kaida definitely had the potential to sway many a male into her thralls. Something more he could use to his advantage. He whipped the end of his tail with the thought, jaw tightening with mild excitement. This could be very fun. Quote: Kaida ::
She looked down at him, her ears flicking froward at his comments, her posture clearly stating that she was hanging on his every word. Her tail twitched and as he spoke it came to flick around her paws lightly. "Your worry soothes me." She said mildly her tone indicating that it really did soothe her. "You have, but returning here, and returning to see me are two different things." She stated mildly as she looked down at him leaning in to poke him with her paw. She felt her pride swelling as he spoke her her chest puffed out a touch and her fur slowly started to smooth itself back out.
"I suppose you have a point. She isn't right for the position of mother. Too weak." Kaida stated her nose turning into the air. "She doesn't deserve them, she she know better. They deserve a better parent." She stated with a nod as she looked back down at him. She truly felt this way too, who ran off and left their perfect princesses just like that? What sort of person did that? That was what her parents were doing to her after all and she didn't like it one little tiny bit. If she were to have the perfect children, which she obviously would if she had the perfect lover, then there would be little reason for her to leave them.
She glanced back down at the male below her. "Do you really believe that? That no one is deserving of me?" She asked tilting her head to the side curiously. Surly there had to be someone out there at least half as decent as herself? Someone strong, suave, independent, capable of taking care of themselves and her. Capable of doting on her and showing her just how perfect she really was. "I suppose I am perfect, really and truly, but that does pose the problem of actually finding someone worth my time." She stated her tone turning sorrowful, this was going to be harder than she had originally thought. No one would be worthy of her at this rate, she flopped down against him resting her head on his side in despair. "Oh Azzy, what if I never find someone that is perfect for me? Someone suave, and charming, beautiful, strong and all around the most perfect male counterpart? What will I do then?" She asked seemingly horrified by the thought as she looked up at him.

His eyes gleamed, claws gripping the grass beneath his paw, dislodging it from the ground without fully ripping it out. Kaida was smart. He had almost forgotten that there was a thin line of intelligence laced in that shoddy genetic material. Chiyuki saw through him, albeit he had also revealed his true nature to that silly feline. He met her downward gaze, face surprisingly benevolent for such a wicked creature. Perhaps she would have been able to see through him as well, that is if she was not blinded by her own vanity. Her need to admired and adored outweighed the very instinct to survive, the instinct that would have warned her of the predator in her midst. He would have pitied her – and her poor family, for that matter – were he able to feel pity. He supposed that was his strength, his understanding of the needs and emotions of others, and his ability to reciprocate whatever it was that the Ulaya before him required, appeasing him and thereby gaining his trust. There was a word for that.
Psychopathy.
"Are they really so different?" he finally replied as she leaned into him. "I'm here now, and I'm here with you." His tail found hers, the long end of his lightly brushing down the length of hers, tracing its bends, testing her reaction to this contact. He could take advantage of this emptiness she felt which he saw this to be room for opportunity. There was plenty of it, after all, though what he intended to fill it with would not be to her liking. It would crush the unfortunate little princess. He blinked, letting out a light chuckle with the thought, though he was a marvelous actor, playing off the chuckle as a lead into his next comment.
"I don't know what drove your sister to have kids of her own. She's only just a child herself. So immature and completely unprepared for the duty of motherhood." There was truth to his words, leastways in the later statements. Cira was no more than an adolescent at best, trapped in the body of an adult leopard. She had the naïveté of a child and was not the slightest bit ready for children of her own; however, he know plenty well why Cira went ahead and did so. His handiwork at its finest. He lied, misled, and corrupted that other leopard child just as he intended to do with this one laying against him. So the lies continued, sliding off his tongue with ease, as though they were true. "You could have been a better mother, though I'm sure you already know that. You're not the weakling as she is." She was a different sort of weak than her sister, though he would not tell her that. Not now.
"I wouldn't have said it if I didn't believe it, Kaida," he replied, the earnest tone he forced seeming natural. "I am sure there is a male sauntering somewhere out in the world for you, someone perhaps not as perfect but well enough a fit." He chuckled, gently nudging her with his nose. "Come now, Kaida. If he was perfect, he would be an equal. He cannot dote upon an equal. He has to be at least somewhat beneath you, just a little." He tilted his head at her almost mortified expression at the thought of being alone without a male to call her alone. Despite all his wit and wile, he still was amazed at how many others could not stand the idea of being alone. They would prefer to be in pain than be alone. He flicked his tail. How foolish.
