The Overseers are the guardians and protectors of Tolas' only living Tree of Power, Axcatia, found near a human settlement in Quadrant 4. Each and every member of the Overseers is a shaman or seer who have given up everything — their past homes, their relationships, their future — to perfect their skills and tend to Axcatia. When someone joins, they join for life. They rarely take mates, and if they do, only from within the group itself. Their offspring are not permitted to be raised there and must be sent elsewhere.
This is Tolas' most mysterious and secretive native group. It seems the only animals who know just how their joining process works are the ones who now live there and have shunned the outside world.
History does speak of them once guarding another tree, Vaylana, which was struck by lightning and split in two. This peculiar, supposedly dead tree remains standing in Quadrant 2, where it has been for the last hundred years, never rotting or falling apart. Shortly after this tragedy, the war between the Timekeepers and Sunlords drove the Overseers to new land. Here, they grew their new tree, Axcatia, though how they did so is quite the mystery.
Outsiders are permitted to watch them from afar. What they see will astound them: wolves, lynxes, deer, numerous species of both predator and prey co-existing. Prey forsake even their empathy for their own kind to join this group, as one can surmise the predators must be eating something.
Throughout the years, many budding seer and shaman have approached them seeking an audience with Axcatia. Through these animals, the names Oxotl and Kiade have become common knowledge to anyone curious enough to seek information on this strange group.
Oxotl, they say, is a crow, a seer who knows to expect them before they even arrive. Kiade, a shaman lynx, has a sort of warmth around her unlike any they have ever felt before. These two powerful individuals escort them to the tree, and when their meeting has concluded, see them back out, all without revealing any of the group's secrets.
Perhaps the outside world will know in time...
OOC NOTE: The Overseers are a shop group. What this means is that this group is owned by the shop and run by RP management, not one individual. This group has noteworthy NPCs, is immune to certain things such as landmark claiming, and will play specific roles in future metaplots.
That being said, please DO NOT say your characters are / were from these lands without first obtaining permission. In this regard, treat it as you would any other group and do not godmode.
