 Capricia's eyes slowly closed. It was warm here, in the sun. It was a cloudy day, so she was not too hot. This place where she sat was nice and private.
It wasn't that she hated people. She didn't unless it was her brother, but she still kind of loved him. It was just hard to be around people, particularly guys. Guys just hurt you. They look at you and they think you're pretty and then suddenly they act all strange and Capricia just wanted to escape.
She did well around Caper, though, even though he was all grown up now. He was such a sweetie. He had rescued her a few times by grunting and putting his arm around her if a guy got too flirty. It was like having Volubile back, before all these things happened, though Volly had never been prone to displaying his affection.

 Even though it was overcast, Tyra felt the heat through her wooly coat. There were days she hated all of her fur. And the warm weather of her new home.
She'd been looking for another one like herself since she'd come here. A quest that had yet to be fulfilled. She remembered seeing pictures on the cavern walls of others like her, up in the high mountains where the snow stayed forever. Her "herd" as they called themselves had been little help to her quest. She was starting to lose heart.
She spotted a brilliant white pony not far off and set her mind to asking that one about others like herself.
Usually very quiet thanks to her sound muffling coat, she tried to make plenty of noise to announce her coming. She'd sneaked up on more than one pony before, scaring them. That certainly wasn't the way to make new friends.
"Excuse me?" Tyra smiled at the pony. She'd never seen one like her before. "Could I bother you for a moment?" Tyra's voice was soft, low for a female's, though not masculine sounding. Sometimes when the young ones of her herd couldn't sleep, mothers would bring them to her so that she could sing them to sleep. It was one of the better things about the herd, as she adored the little ones so.

Capricia hesitated a moment and then opened her eyes. The reddish fur of the pony before her was pleasing to look at and she relaxed. Capricia was a little shallow, after all.
"Yes, you can bother me," said Capricia. "We both seem to be in the same business, after all," she said, noticing Tyra's quiver of arrows.

The lady Winter smiled, "Then I take it you either inspire or fight for love." Tyra settled herself gracefully on the ground, sticks and dead leaves gathering in her fur. The looked at the mess and sighed. She'd have to remove all of that later.
"I won't take up much of your time. I'm looking for others like myself." She blushed with embarrassment, thankful that her fur was such a deep, vibrant red to help hide such a thing. "Have you seen any?"

"I uh," said Capricia, paling even further than her usual white skin, "no, I don't do that anymore."
"Others like you? Archers, cupids, girls, red ponies?" Capricia shook her head in uncertainty. "What kind of like you?"

"Oh how silly of me!" She fidgeted nervously, "I'm looking for another Winter like myself. I've never seen another one. And I can't possibly be the only one..." Tyra's voice held a note of uncertainty to it. She really hoped she wasn't the only one...

"Winter?" asked Capricia. She noticed the red pony's horns and fur for the first time as genetic features, not accessories. "Winter is a species?"
Capricia stood up and peered at Tyra. "You... you know," she said thoughtfully. "You look, I mean not the same colour, but you look like someone I know. I don't know him well, but I know of him. his names Raider and he is fluffy and has horns like you."

Tyra's face lit up and she let out a small squeak of joy. "There really are others like me! Do you think it would be too much to ask of you for an introduction?" There was so much hope for her now. If there was another one, then maybe there were others too. Maybe there was a family out there that was looking for her.

"Yeah," said Capricia, stunned a little from so much excitement. She was warming up a little and she headed in the direction where she hoped to find Raider.
"Raider is best friends with Thanatos and Wes, and Thanatos is mates with Vesuvia who is part of the dragon clan on Green Lady Mountain, where Duchess and her sons Alan and Racket live," Capricia paused minutely for a breath, "and they're best friends with Caper, whose sister is called Capricia, which is my name, so he's like a little brother, so I'm sure if we can't find Raider, we'll find someone who can tell us where he is," she said and then realised what she had said didn't really sound as reassuring as she had meant it to.
"My name is Capricia," she said again, this time as a way of introducing herself. "Pleased to meet you."

"I'm Tyra. And I am so very happy to meet you." She smiled despite the long run of names. "You certainly seem to have many acquaintances. I suppose it all comes with being in the love business though."

"I'm not in the... I don't do that anymore," said Capricia again, quietly. With a stronger voice, she said, "Our area of Nightmare Valley is a lot like a town, everyone knows everyone else, at least through some people in between. It's a bit like being friends with everyone with a few people removed. So you could say I'm best friends with Raider six people removed. But I've never been introduced."
They were closing in on the mountain when they heard a voice cry, with growing volume, "Capricia!"
Capricia looked up and jumped out of the way just in time to avoid a pony falling out of the sky to land with in what could be described as a glomp on the ground. He twitched and groaned. Oddly, he was an earth pony, a pony with no wings, but he had been flying.
"Caper, we were just looking for you," said Capricia, bending over the pony known as Caper. "Have you seen Raider around?"
Caper looked up, his eyes slightly unfocused. "You don't even love me enough to ask me how I am?"
"Don't try and crash land in me next time and I will," said Capricia. "Have you seen Raider?"
Caper huffed a sigh and started to sit up, very slowly. As he did, he spoke, "Actually, he was just at the mountain. I think Wes asked him to come along with him and Thuraya, they were going to meet Epivan and Pleia."
Capricia pulled a wincing face, the most animated her face had been all day. "That's so awkward..."
"Why?" asked Caper, sitting and looking up like a puppy, or a child.
"I will tell you when you're older," said Capricia. "Where is Raider now?"
"I'm an adult!" said Caper petulantly. "How much older do I have to be?" He could see she wouldn't tell him, so he huffed and said, "I saw him at his stupid training field."
"Thanks. Now go away, you're annoying my friend," demanded Capricia. "Now. Go. Go."
"Oooooh," said Caper, looking from Tyra to Capricia. He took a look at Capricia's angry expression and he stood up, bowed to Tyra, saluted Capricia and, with a concentrated look on his features began to float away. "Bye!"
"Bye," called Capricia. "Sorry I didn't introduce you, but he would never have let us go, otherwise. He's an annoying little snot." She smiled, though, as though she were proud that this snot had chosen to belong to her. "The training field isn't far. Raider probably had to burn off some nervous energy. Wes probably brought him as extra muscle in case something went badly... Thuraya's not a popular pony."
