Me personally; I want a more compelling character and his motivation, deeper symbolism, and Akira back. I couldnt give a damn about Murphy or Travis character or they're motivation; they coulda just walked out that town no problem, nothing was keeping either of them there really. Also every game Homecoming onwards had little to no symbolism, which took alot of the feel of SH out of it. Also,Licht's score for SH8 was boring, uninspired;that being said I did enjoy it and thought it was above other soundtracks from other series, nobody can beat Yamaoka. What are your thoughts, what do you want in Hills?

personally, I did not like the story for Alex Sheppard in Homecoming. I prefer stories about inner demons and struggles.... His story was too much of a "rescue" story.... I mean he had some confrontations, especially with his father throughout the game... and even his mother at times. But in truth it was too heavy on the search and rescue feel of getting his brother back.
I did like Murphy's story. The inner demon of having murdered someone, and his personal wrath at having lost his son was pretty powerful.
I'll agree though that no soundtrack for the Silent Hill games has been as good as when Akira made them. But if I am not mistaken, Akira also contributed a lot to the ambient sound effects and other eerie sounds of the previous games he was involved with... which also shows the drastic difference in atmosphere when comparing old games to new games.
So what would I like to see? Genuinely creative puzzles which we haven't really seen since probably the 4th game and before. I would like to see more connections to the lore and history of Silent Hill. I am of course an Easter Egg fanatic and would love to see quite a few scattered throughout Silent Hills to be found.
Ultimately, one of the all time biggest things for me is atmosphere. I want way creepier ambient sound effects.... I want more eerie sounds and "things that go bump in the night". I want to hear crashes around the corner just to look and see nothing there. And like I have posted on other threads, they need heavier fog in my opinion. The thinner fog they have been using lately has made it too easy to see enemies ahead and really dilutes the scary feeling and creepy vibe.

Inner demons have been overused way to much,it should have stayed within Silent Hill 2. Silent HIll isnt about personal demons, its controlled by the nightmare of Alessa. SH4 doesnt even have you step foot in a personal demon or even Alessa's mind. SH1:Search for Cheryl and answers SH2:Sear for you wife and confront your demons SH3:Find answers and conqour God SH4:Find clues and answers to Walters past and stop him from killing you or Eileen SH0-confront the death of your parents and figure out what happened to Alessa. SH5/HC:Find your brother and find out what happened to your family and the town (Shephards Glen) Shazam:Basically SH1,but also find out the dark history of your father and come to terms with it Downpour:Confront your sons death and the murder you may or may have not of commited. ALSO, The biggest mistake in DP and HC is the result is different in every ending, which is BAD. In every SH2 ending Mary was dead regardless of what you did. Homecoming I was more lenient with,Downpour has no excuse to have like 7 different outcomes;considering the story makes NO sense in a few of the endings. Silent Hill isnt about demons, its about the cult;and if SH9 (Hills) wants to do something new then it should reboot or involve the cult,or maybe have it revolve around the murders of the familys (20863). Inner Demons are NOT the roots of the franchise, please watch TRSHE (The Real Silent Hill Experience) on youtube by Twin Perfect. It will go in full detal with full evidence that can prove that. But I agree fully with everything you have listed besides that hahahah.
