The Eccentric Ambassador Preferred Gender: Female Possible Looks: Pallet, maybe heavily spotted with some that are morphed into flowers as if she were woven to be an Ambassador.
This young B’alam, as all Ambassador’s, travels far outside the caverns to fulfill her given duties to her utmost abilities. However, she’s enamored with the other cultures of B’alam that she encounters, bringing back information but picking up bits and pieces for herself simply from contact. Although she fits perfectly with the Dark Tribe society, and presents herself properly and with the decorum of her position, outside of this she displays idiosyncrasies you’d associate with many of the other Tribes. A particularly worrying culture, one she tries to hide from her fellow Dark Tribe entirely, is that of the Wind B’alam. Their dances fascinate her to no end, and in particular she’s become very close with a mapmaker by the name of Ruzgargulu, “Ruse”. They did not meet anywhere near the Wind territories, but within those of the Earth while she gathered flowers for the fall season. Since then his maps have been invaluable to her in providing an insight into the layout of their world and guidance to destinations that would typically be far outside the Dark Tribe’s reach.
I’m thinking that she would be extremely interested in Ruse, thinking of having him as a mate while he, and his shrewd intelligence, tries to keep her at arms length because of the negative connotations towards his Tribe and in turn himself and what that might bring to her. Especially with her position within her own Tribe. But, he did provide her with dark glasses for her own travels to help with combating light in the times she must endure it.
If I can, I'd like to give her away to a new member to play with. But, they'd understand she has a set plot already.
Here be Ruse
A Very Confused Blood-Giver Preferred Gender: Male Possible Looks: Pallet, hmm, maybe a dark under color and bright scales? Lots of henna or tribal patterns, something that makes him stand out. A Blood-Giver to Ulalume here, this boy is extremely confused and very dependent on her for travel in the caverns. Why? He’s Light Tribe. The poor boy though, he was woven into existence within the caverns and from his inception has believed he was none other than a Dark Tribe B’alam. Even pointing out his lack of wings and inability to see in the dark only makes him puff up in defense of what he believes. Ulalume humors him, understanding it was the Weaver’s intent that he is the way he is, even down to his Ice Tribe fangs that he’s on occasion attempted to take a bit of blood from others with. With their permission of course though.
This male B’alam lives in Ulalume’s meager tinkering shop that she graciously keeps as well lit as possible with luminous mosses and fungi for him. He in turn provides her with small blood meals regularly, and helps in the construction of some of the intricate puppets Ulalume crafts for the Actors of the Dark Tribe.
Alternate Addition
This boy was woven blind. He's never seen light, but is drawn to sources of it. He doesn't understand what he looks like, so that's what so easily convinces him that he's Dark Tribe but without wings. Since he's attracted to light sources, Ulalume plants bits and pieces of luminous mosses and fungi in paths around her shop and in patterns on tools for him to get around.
She can't let him leave the shop without escort.
Possibly add in a third B'alam to them to form a trio. A guard for both Ulalume and the boy, specifically sticks to the boy to keep him out of danger and allow him to go out instead of being cooped up for his own good.

I approve of this plot! Only comment I have is that the Dark Tribe has nothing against the wind tribe. The Wind Tribe fears the dark tribe for their ability to fly and the fact that they can get to them in their homeland (Which they wouldn't unless provoked). It's not an actual hatred, just afraid of what they can do. Wind Tribe members are scared to live in caves and fear being without the sky.

I approve of this plot! Light tribe members are highly welcome in the dark tribe territory. I like the idea of a blind light blood-giver. My only concern is how would he eat? Only the Dark Tribe can survive by drinking blood. Sounds like he is in good hands though. <:

I've been actually meaning to update some of this. Ruse wasn't complete before, since I didn't have more of the Wind Tribe lore until they had their opening.
He's, for the sake of his trade, an outlier if only for a lack of fear of the dark, and the Dark Tribe. The reason being, to match his trade, the Dark Tribe would be vital with star mapping and night time travels. Wings are good, wings are very good so, as I'm not required to have him be exactly like all the other Wind B'alam, I'd rather he have this bit of an outlier persona for his cartography. He's still definitely Wind though, still got that gypsy spirit.
As for the blind boy, I really do like that idea too. Especially if he sort of feels light and can function at least slightly that way, and it really works well with his delusions that he's Dark Tribe in origins. Same thing with the idea that Ulalume isn't the only caregiver he has, I'm really not sure if I like that other B'alam to be her mate or not. Heck, maybe we have a polygamous little group here with one Soul-bound pair and the third is an adopted parent but they all consider themselves the parents. I don't know! I just like more than one care taker for him, and they'd definitely be able to keep him fed that way.

Ah! That would make sense for Ruse. They didn't come out with full info until just now. I was just stating the Wind Tribe as a while is scared of the Dark, but the Dark has no problem with the Wind (The Wind doesn't pillage Dark). The only trouble they would have would be from the Wind. I'm sure the map making would interest some.

Though I do like the idea of of the blind Light blood-giver, a polygamous group would not be accepted or endorsed by the tribe as a whole. The staff reviewed this situation and decided that the three would not reproduce if more than two b'alam were romantically involved. Spirit binding would not work. Spirit binding is reserved for souly two b'alam. If a third becomes romantically involved it breaks the binding. As a shop most relationships are allowed, however, only two b'alam spirit bound exclusively to each other will be reproductive. (More can be found [ here ] ) We have an RP manager to ensure this. You my have another caregiver, It's okay to have more than one, but it is not recommended they all be romantically involved with each other.

Well, I knew it would be a stretch for a three part little family, and I have read all the bonding information. I'd like a interesting relationship for them, exploring something different in a roleplay manner.
I mean, I could work it another way where Ulalume/partner are bonded, and light boy still feels he's also a parent of the cubs. They are not romantically involved with him beyond the strong feeling of familial ties and strong familial affections, or something along those lines. Godparent, but closer?
I'd just like them to be different from the standard, especially with the light boys unique situation of being woven both blind, and thinking he's Dark Tribe with such a passion. I just feel they'd be non-standard or non-normative because of his situation. And, I'm trying to work inside the system, and read everything, I just can't catch everything. It's the reason I'm waiting to write anything for my fire girls because I want to read more on what the fire culture will be like first.

A godparent would work just as well as anything without violating the spirit-bound arrangement. Anything "more" would because it carries with it implications of a three-way romantic situation/a fling/surrogate situation. This is a situation we are avoiding. You can play them in a poly relationship, as most relationships are permitted, and they can adopt cubs to share, but any bonds outside of the standard would not be reproductive in nature.
As far as "mold breakers", we are really trying to avoid that in the first generations. THis is the literal beginning of the world so there is no "normal" to defy yet. The dark tribe also would not allow such a relationship situation to remain in the territory so they would have to be relocated.
As far as interesting, I think it's interesting enough that a light-woven B'alam is blind -and- woven into this particular location. There doesn't seem to be much of an in-character reason for him to seek out more reasons to be strange or to even know that it's possible to enter into a three way relationship/odd family situation. Again, it's the begining of the world so it would not make a lot of sense in the canon of the shop.
