What If hits the PA and the lights dim. Blue, purple, and pink lights begin to flash in time with the opening chords. As the guitar riff kicks up and the lyrics hit, Janelle Damone steps out from behind the curtain to an eruption of cheers. The female Damone is dressed in black lowriders and a matching tank top, with an outline of her own face etched into it in pink, a new shirt for her, and her hair cut down to shoulder length. The form fitting outfit is a far cry from her earlier baggier clothes, a distinctly more feminine look
What if.. every guy I saw
What if.. sitting down at the bar
What if.. I told him to give me a call
What if.. what if, what if, what if
What if.. every guy in the place
What if.. was all up in my face
What if.. what would you say
What if.. what if, what if, what ifas the first verse hits, Janelle moves across the stage, looking out into the sea of fans filling the arena, moving to the music, then across to the other side of the stage
"Making her way to the ring, from St. Louis, Missouri, Janelle Damone!"
I hate a jealous man, one who doesn't understand
That I'm attractive so of course men wanna take my hand
And lead me off round the corner maybe to their place
But when they speak you get mad, jumping all up in my facenow in standing at the head of the ramp, she rocks to the particular high point in the song and purple pyro shoots off on the stage behind her.
But on the other hand when women come and speak to you
You kiss and hug them like it's something that you let me do
You're only jealous cause you know the ish you put me through
I might turn right around and do that ish right back to youJanelle dashes down the ramp and slides into the ring, rising up a kneel, then getting to her feet. Moving to the ropes, she stands on the bottom rope and points out into the crowd. A burst of purple pyro comes from the turnbuckles and she steps down as the music dies out before she takes up a mic.
"You know, this has been a very interesting year for me. I came here to DHW and stepped out here with one goal originally, to face one of my greatest rivals one on one and beat her. That rival was Damita Ace."
the hometown crowd cheers for another hometown girl.
"So I came back and I did that. And I thought that was it. That was a good way to go out. But then the Family got into it with the Chosen, and it was time to go out and fight again. I took particular issue with Ultimo Insano. He got several tag team wins over me, but then it was time for Blaze of Glory, the biggest show of the year. It was time to go one on one, and to most people, he had the advantage in a backstage brawl. At the end of the night, I found myself walking out with a win, and a title shot. I am the number one contender for the DHW Honor championship at Bound by Honor. It's unexpected, but that title was made from an XCW title I was rather proud to have held a few times, the Cruiser title. It's a title for those that aren't the biggest dogs in the yard, but they can damn sure fight with the best of them. I get that, I respect that, and I'm more than happy to take up the challenge."
Janelle looks towards the back.
"But, the thing is, we have to look at the champion holding the title. Lana Leone. Now sure, she's got something impressive on her resume. She defeated one of the most decorated champions in history when she beat Cartwright at his own game to win the title. I give props to her for that. But I feel it's best to give a little message to Lana. Don't let that win go to your head. While it's impressive, the fact is, the Damone family made kicking the crap out of Cartwright cool. We've all done it, myself included. And while seeing you put him through a flaming table was something to behold, you've got a long way to go and while you may have been a fair to decent champion this time around, it's my time now. You have something I now desire. That Honor title means something to me, and I'm not going to stop until I get it."
cheers ring out from the crowd and Janelle nods before continuing on.
"While it may not have been the plan, I'll damn sure take it. You see, I've been around a long time, longer than any other female competitor currently in the business. While I have not been in the outlandish and outright stupid situations certain supposedly legendary females have found themselves in, I have been around and had battles with the best women and men in the business. I have been in the ring with the likes of BJ Dragon, Codi Paige, Claire Hawkins, and Damita Ace. I was around in the heydey of Trish Stratus and Lita, when Victoria was still Victoria, when Molly Holly was still active. There are few women I haven't been in the ring with and even fewer that I've never beaten. Now, Lana, I've seen you around. You're a bit on the strange side. Whatever works for you chick. What I want to know is what kind of title match should I expect from you. What stipulation would you like? Because you see, when we meet at the Joe Louis Arena, one on one with the title on the line, I don't want to hear excuses. You're the Honor champion, and I expect you to defend and lose it with Honor. So, what kind of match will it be? There's no match type you can come up with that I haven't done before, and I want you to know that you did everything you could when you're forced to face the fact that you are no longer champion."
