'Where revival begins.'
Greetings in the glorious name of Jesus!
Many people today believe that we are in need of a world-wide revival and a return to Godly values.
We talk a lot about revival in our guilds here on this site as well as in our local churches and devout Christians are praying daily for renewal, rededication and restoration.
It has been rightfully said, "If it is to be, it must begin with me." That old saying is true and followere of God, down through the ages, have asked the Lord to lead them in a way that they would be able to share God's promises of redeemption with others.
King david wrote about the subject of revival. (K.J.V.) Psalm 51:10-13; sheda a bright light on the subject.
Psalm 51:10-13, 'Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.'
What King David is telling us, is that we can't lead others to seek the face of God unless we know Him well enough for His presence to show in our lives. If we don't have it, we can't share it.
David calls upon the Lord to draw him ever closer to His holy presence and to keep him filled with His holy spirit and His righteousness. Note also that David calls upon God to restore the joy, assurance and power of his salvation.
Each of us must be so completely filled with the Holy Spirit of God that we show it in our daily lives.
The things we do, the things we say, and every one of our thoughts should reflect our commitment to doing God's will.
The apostle Paul exhorted the Corinthians, and us, to make Christ the center of our lives and to share His love and saving grace with others.
2nd Corinthians 3:17-18 assures us that God is able to lift the veil of darkness from the eyes of the sinner.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18, 'Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, and changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.'
Let us dedicate ourselves to serving the Lord each and every day.
Let us promise to yeild to the Holy Spirit of God so that He might work on us, in us and through us, to minister to a lost and dying world.
Let us commit ourselves to asking God to bring about revival in the world and that He will begin that revival within each of us.
If it is to be, it must begin with you and me.
Be blessed and rejoice in this day that the Lord hath made.
