Personality:
With noble birth Odette was taught to carry herself with a certain amount of poise and discipline. She has expectations of other people to compose themselves well and was slightly sheltered in that she stayed within Wall Sina for most of her life. Stern, ambitious, and often cold she does not make the friendliest impression. Sometimes Odette gives the impression that she likes to be mean for the sake of it but it's really because she's insensitive and undergoing an amount of culture shock. She does not like to admit when she is having trouble and tries to be very independent. It is hard for her to completely ignore the social aspect of life because it is so important in the high society circles but has trouble making herself befriend the people in the military because most of them come from lower class families and aren't likely to be useful for her. She is noting who seems like they'd enter the Military Police though and attempting to seek them out in case they can serve as a contact later.

Just because she comes from a noble family does not mean Odette is afraid of work, however! She is very much a rules enforcer and over achiever when she can be, wanting to be the best at everything. She is very much a perfectionist when it comes to herself and secretly holds others to high expectations if they are close to her. Odette prefers to have more responsibility because it means she has more control and is able to make things be the way she feels is correct or proper. As such, she is bossy and very much a disciplinarian when she finds people breaking the rules/law. Her own family's plans aside, she doesn't like it when people do illegal or crazy things because it's harder for her to calculate and predict what they'll do next.

So what's good about this girl? She's very reliable in a pinch and takes her position very seriously. If Odette promises you she'll get something done, she keeps her word. She is also very loyal to those who earn her trust (which is hard) and will take care of them without fail, even if it goes against some of her personal morals. She can contradict herself at times but tries to keep that to a minimum and strives to be the best soldier she can in order to secure a spot as a Military Police officer. Also she has no qualms harassing those who continuously do stupid things so send her after your enemies.

History:
Odette was born into a comfortable life as the fourth child of the noble Thorne family. As it stands she doesn't have a chance to inherit the estate nor is she likely to be married off anytime soon, as her three older sisters are older and need to be arranged for first. Her family has done well for itself, carefully marrying into money the best it can but options are limited with only so many deemed suitable matches. Recently a deal was proposed between four families to try and make an oligopoly in the steel industry through marriages. Dustrell Mining, Alseph Steel, and Quake Forge. The talks regarding this business arrangement have been kept secret in order to protect the plan in case some of the other business families catch wind and try to prevent it.

The Thorne family plans to act as the cover by marrying their three eldest daughters to the eldest sons of the three businesses involved, with their non-merchant status preventing anyone from being able to say anything against it. Nobility is something most of the population inside Wall Sina desire anyway so it would not seem suspicious or be report-able for breaking any laws. Once the marriages have been completed the business side would begin and they would use their oligopoly to become rich and potentially more powerful in the high society circles.

Wanting to be useful to her family, Odette proposed she join the military and become a military police officer in order to gain influence there in case the family needs help. She also hoped that it would give her access to policing the other noble families and keep an eye on any shady business or news that might affect her family's plans and future. The Thorne family saw no problem with her ambition to gain influence in the King's Guard and supported her decision, though they made it clear she was to keep them informed of her progress and follow any orders they write to her if they choose to change things in the future.

She threw herself into the role and cut her long hair into a more manageable style for the training. Odette joined the military with a few raised eyebrows due to her background but once she stated her goal was to join the military police most people assumed she was just trying to get a cushy life and weren't most nobles selfish like that anyway?

Extra:
Odette attended a party a few years ago and met with the Adalwolfa and her mother. They exchanged pleasantries and parted ways without becoming friends but Odette was glad to have become acquainted with the Westhofen family due to their prestigious reputation. She didn't stay in contact with them though and is only vaguely aware they had a slight problem due to typical gossip but isn't knowledgeable of what happened to the family with their fall from grace.

I'd love for her to recognize some other noble faces too but haven't worked anything else out yet.
